Hey, now we CAN say it's Bunnie and Antoine getting married! Because when you shake up the continuity like that, you're just begging for a reset!
...
I'm curious to see if the Prower family plays into things at all at this point. I feel like Tails is heading for a major meltdown, what with Fiona and now this, though it sounds like he's still in the fight.
Alright...I'll concede that maybe I'm being a little to hard on Ian...he is, after all, in the unenviable position of having to do a balancing act between satisfying gamer fans and SatAM fans. I just don't want the comic to lean too heavily to the SegaSonic universe. Should that happen...I'll be gone.
Yeah, we got Sonic X for that now. Maybe it's to show what that kind of team would be like in the Archie/SatAm world?
I've always felt personally that Sonic X serves the sole purpose of catering to contemporary gamer fans...so anything pertaining to SegaSonic belongs over there. Sonic the Hedgehog, on the other hand, I feel has evolved to a point where it is more than just a glorified advertisement for a gaming franchise...it's become it's own independent entity. So it should thus be free to go in its own direction plotwise.

I can't wait for all the upcoming issues. Ian has revived he part of me that waited ansiously week after week for a new issue to come out.
I wonder if they'll somehow get rid of all the parents and old ppl? Make them go away to some other village far far away and let the kids (FF) do all the war work again? Maybe it's me but I think the FF got held up after their parents, relatives and everyone came to overpopulate KV again.
Anyway, I really like both covers. They have awesome written all over!

ppl?
Lol. Even on a message board, people use IM speak. XD
Seems kinda silly to get rid of the parents, especially after Antoine's father died and Tails was reunited with his (if they're real). It would make poor use of two key (or at least heartfelt) plot points.
"ppl?"
ppl = people
sorry, I use shorthands too much whenever I speak
I guess you're right. It does sound like a silly suggestion. But the rest of the ppl hold the FFs back. Take Queen (or should it be Lady Alicia now?) Anyway, Sally's mum. At first, she wouldn't let Sally get near anything to do with the war. Maybe that was my perspective.
It sounds like Sally's MIA as well, so who knows what will happen. Alicia had every reason to be protective of Sally at first though, since they were reunited for the first time in ages and she's a mother, but I never really noticed her being overprotective after the Robians were freed from Robotropolis way back when...good lord, six years ago now...I feel old. XD
Well, I'm gonna be a happy little camper.
I'm eagerly anticipating #175. n_N My whole body is aching with excitement - but then again, I was just finished watching season 1 of Stargate Atlantis, so it might be related. nN
Anywho - can't wait.

Well, I could say that I always felt like Sonic the Hedgehog was nothing more than fanservice for readers who could'nt let a 10 year old cartoon die, and that Sonic X was the closest thing to a comic actually based on the games I would ever get, but here we are. =p

Now this ...THIS Ian, is making me go buy the comic right now.
Yeah, I sat on the spoilers that had been emailed to me on Monday until this morning. I read them for #175 & #176 and said that the order for a 5-issue subscription will go in the mail within the week. I'm getting #175 on time (as I figure due to processing that either #174 or 175 will be first if I send it now-ish), not months later. Now this, I'm willing to read with earnest.
Consider my attention grabbed.

Woah. Those issues sound awesome. Don't wanna overthink about 175-176 but wouldn't it be total irony if they'd cure Max only to have him die in a firey blaze?
i think max should've died with the poison. if anyone has ever gotten close to a death cheat, it'd be him with his umpteen million revivals.
It seems the cheating death thing runs in the royal family...
I find myself wishing he would've stayed dead each time he gets revived.
Yes but does Ian mention a body count like he did for TDS?
Cause no so far has mentioned it.
Ian has mentioned that more people will die, yes, but he hasn't mentioned when. I think issue issue 175 looks likely, don't you?
Perhaps Dirk, but I don't think it will be the Freedom Fighters (which includes Sally), but maybe the father figures (Jules, Max, etc) and again I believe this two-(or three parter, however you read and look at it) will reunite the Freedom Fighters as a team and thus start the process of Ian hopfully getting the comic bak to its orgianl roots.
I recall Ian once saying that soon Rotor would make a heroic sacrifice on his message board. =p

You're joking us right? :O, I mean he's in M25YL, well then again they did say (as many do) that the future can change.
Really, we should all know by now that the only characters that are safe are the ones that Sega likes. XD
Oh god, they better not, who would supply the FF's with their nifty gadgets? 😮
Tails. He's a genious like that.
Is Tails fat and cuddly?
Yeah, thought not.
The original Dr. Robotnik was fat and cuddly, and he died a long time ago. =p
...Damn it, you got me
You're all wrong. They'll resurrect Tommy, and HE'LL make the gadgets.
Oh god, I found that turtle irritating, I just hope he stays dead.

You want the comic to go back to half-issue one-off comedic stories with the villians done AoStH? Because that is its original roots.
No, back to when it was like in issiues 25-84.
Sorry for the confusing ;D

No, back to when it was like in issiues 25-84.
A large chunk of that period didn't have Sonic with the original Freedom Fighters, it had him and Tails off on solo adventures and Rotor left in #72 - and the issues with Robotnik dead and Mobius liberated had quite a different set-up to those before and after it.
Pre-Endgame then, yeah that's what I meant to say
I one thousand percent guarantee that isn't going to happen.
You maybe right Dirk, but this is Ian who's writing and with a guy like him anything can happen, and we probably wouldn't see it coming
It's safe to assume Ian's going to cause huge amounts of destruction to Knothole, I don't think that's likely to return the comic to a semi-SatAm era.
And it's really worrying if the comic returns to how it was in a 26-issue run ten years ago.
Well we know Ian won't do the FF's any harm, I think he just wants to clean out the extra baggage left behind by pervious writers
No. No we DON'T know if Ian will kill of the FFs or not. You're just saying what YOU don't want to happen.

Hey, remember what Amadeus said?
"Our time abroad has exposed me to many new and wonderful ideas. I hope to share them with the kingdom soon."
I hope this wasn't one of them. XD
Nice to see that Eggman's finally doing something. Also, does anyone know what that red thing (I can't tell if it's a cloak or bandana.) is that Sonic's holding?
It looks like the kingdom's tattered flag.
Specifically, the one from Freedom HQ. The flags inside Castle Acorn were green last time I checked (#170)
Makes me think Bark/Bean's attack was more a scouting mission that anything else. Now that Eggy's had time for analyzing weak points of the new base he'll go all out and take it down. Biggest question to me is how much help he'll need (will Scourge, Fiona, Fini or others play into his plot?) Here's hoping we see Snively in a mech again.
Given Knothole is the biggest Mobius-bound threat to Finitevus right now, it's possible he might ally with Robotnik as a ploy to get rid of the kingdom. Robotnik finally eliminates his enemy and is free to rampage across Mobius, while Finitevus carries out his plan to restore Enerjak before Robotnik can counter.
Might also determine where Fiona's loyalties truly lie, since she's now connected to Finitevus through Scourge and undoubtedly has knowledge of great value to Robotnik.
Methinks whatever Robotnik does in 175 will eventually build into whatever Finitevus does in or by 200. I'm most curious to see how that plays out.
Either way, the events leading up to 200 will definatly be interesting and I will certainly read them all.
regardless, that's still atleast two years away, as we can plainly see alot of things happen in two of our years
two whole years? that's a long time to wait. it's gonna be worth it though. All the little clue we're getting are too interesting to pass up and we can only speculate. Here's a drink so that all the original FFs stay alive this summer.
---------------------------
I'll drink some grape juice to that, HidoiKijo, and that this will end up bringing my favorite pair closer together.
I'll drink some coke to that.
Hear, Hear!
