Specific details had been given by Ken Penders long before either of those two issues. Check the news archives (I'd suggest Knuckles Haven only because those archives are much smaller than Sonic HQ) if you want an exact date or something.
You HAD to mention Remington. So, show of hands if you all though I'd come to this topic.
As you can see, I wanna know the fate of Remmy and what his connections with the DL will lead him, provided Archie ever gets to it!
Archie better start crackin' by the time I wanna actually unsubscrible to the comic...I'm just an impatient nut.

He was part of the EST ever since his character was first introduced in Knuckles #4, and I never picked up on any of this.

Remington is Kragok's son. That's about all I know, but he is loyal to Knux and the Brotherhood not the Legion.

Ken mentioned that Kragok is Rem's father a LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time ago, I believe in a chat he held (I wasn't present, unfortunately). From what is revealed, Kragok sent Rem as a child/baby to Knuckles' world cuz' he didn't trust his sister, Lien-Da and the rest writes itself. If I'm wrong, correct me.
Putting Rem in the family chart in the Knuckles family line in the comic would have been a spoiler at that point. It was in #141 when the issue of Rem's heritage came to be, if not for one panel.

I don't like to make new topics very often, which in my case is 99% of the time, for one thing. The other is I'm really not the type to ask a question about a character I like and make a topic devoted to it. I like to go with the flow with any already existing topic, plus for some odd reason, it makes me feel like I'm 13, back when I was such a idiot and annoyed people by constantly asking questions (I'm not picking on the person who made this topic, this is just me explaining how much of an idiot I was at that age, is all). Thank God those days are over for me...
Meanwhile, I really need to deal with a fancomic dealing with this...

Ken WAS going somewhere with it (kinda... maybe), then that whole 25 years later thing crept up and the Knuckles stories took a back seat for his new obsession with detailing the future of the characters that may or may not even matter.
Then it stopped at a cliffhanger.
Turns out, it was Karl Bollers who penned the Return to Angel Island arc that finally addressed (or at least opened up the possibility to address) Rem's past. Meanwhile, Ken has at least one or two more Sonic stories to tell...

No, it just showed that Kragok had a kid. I didn't mention that specific hint. Lien-Da's comments ever since then have made it semi-obvious who that kid is: Remington.
Also, in the election arc of Knux'x comics, Benedict tried to blackmail Remington with certain info. Could it be that "info" was that he was Kragok's son?
Those universes where everyone is related to each other... 
Remmy's back! I was afraid he would be gone for good after Hunter ZORCHED him.
Hunter may have "zorched" Remington, but all he did was send him to the Egg Grape Chamber. His body and mind took a real beating from that, but Doc Fin rescued him at some point and rebuilt him with cyborg parts, only for Knux/Enerjak to turn him back to normal later. Doc Fin seems to know about Remington's past; how else do you explain Remmy's conviction that he's the rightful heir to Enerjak's power, or the fact that his implants and wardrobe are virtually identical to Kragok's except for which of their eyes is gone?
