Hi there, I am currently working on a Season 3 of satam Sonic or a new complete new sonic cartoon with similar characters from sega and archie universe but have it the art style of satam myself and a few other people. But i didn't really know if archie would approve something like this so i figured i would sign up for the forum and ask. i do have a few ideas on how i want sonic and the gang to look in season 3. yes keep it satam style, i have been collaborating with Dan Drazen a bit and he is interested to see what i had, so i am still working on getting him the stuff. the whole plan was to go through drazen and see what he thinks then go through archie. so i figured i see what kind of answers and opinions i would get on here.

Hm. Well I really don't know HOW you can get your idea pitched. Do you already work in the entertainment industry?

As long as i know what i am doing that is all that matters. I drew up a few concept art on paper, just have to color it in photoshop. i also starting writing the script and storyline for the first episode. i am even as we speak recruiting more people to be part of the team so we can have a pitch to bring forth to Drazen and he can give it to the people he knows at archie. i have also emailed a couple other companies to see if they like the idea and are interested in seeing what i have.

Last time a non-industry-insider attempted to pitch the idea, they got as far as an actual meeting to which they were asked the simple question "How are you going to pay for it?"

So, do you have a realistic funding option here which can do this, or is this another pipe dream which wont go anywhere?

Yes, me and my friend have our own business for one, for two i am sure i am going at a different approach then the last person that did it, and for three you never know who may help support or pitch in for the idea. usually when you approach someone with a money making idea they usually buy it and help you out. times have changed in the world where you aren't the only one that has to pay for it. many many other funding options are available.

First off - I'm not joining a dog pile of nay-sayers, and I don't mean to be negative, I'm just tossing some personal, professional insight into the mix.

That said - you need to prepare yourself for the single biggest roadblock to this project. You can have all the concepts, full financial backing and even an animation studio ready to go and it won't mean diddly if you don't have the license. Unless you convince Sega to sell you the license, your project won't happen.

Having the means, money and some online support won't do you much good either. You have to convince the parent company that what you want to do with their product will be profitable for them and true to their over-arching marketing scheme. You have a very real chance of them turning you down just because they don't want to do a Sonic cartoon right now - and there's nothing you can do about that. Basing it off of a thirteen-year-old defunct series isn't helping your chances either.

I wish you - and the other projects - the best of luck. I'd love you all to prove me wrong and get a new cartoon out there. I'm just trying to paint a realistic picture for you so you can prepare yourself and put your best foot forward.

Geez, he was giving you some advice that you really need. I see no reason why you need to attack him for that. Your attitude won't help you in the long run if you keep acting like that.

Well, the very least I can do here is say "good luck, and keep us posted". I doubt there's anything we could say constructively that will be heeded. So, keep us posted when you do stuff. Good luck.

tell me something i don't know? this is old news potato and there are ways about doing things that i am sure you don't even know about. so don't worry about it and go about your buisness. everything is taken care of.

Yeah now bring that type of attitude when making your pitch to the representatives. If you can't take advice from the internet then you will fail to achieve in real life.

Now a question to anyone else. With all the take of Sonic revival, doesn't 4 KIDS own animated rights to Sonic, or is it just for Sonic X?

little late on that response are we? we have done and long forgot about that statement so your opinion is irrelevant, moving on lol.

Some of us have not forgotten, and his opinion isn't "irrelevant". I see no reason for your rudeness.

Nope, they'd only have the license to do the English dub. I don't know if they do other languages, but their license would only extend as far as what they were producing. Ultimately Sega would own all the rights.

You actually are being rude, Edgehog. Personally, the moment I saw your post I pegged you as yet another dellusional waste of space with dreams which far exceed their powers. Buuut, no one deserves to get 20 posts of NO, so I thought I'd say something positive.... your reaction to it kind of made me regret doing so.

Understand that people come in claiming to revive the show like once or twice a year and usually the fandoms bow at their passing and give them all love and attention, until they are revealed as wastes of space, and from the looks of the arguing at FUS, I'd say Mysterious Animator X is at that stage right now. Point of the matter is, there's no reason for us to believe you and your attitude is revolting, please learn some manners and don't assume that we owe you anything. To our perspectives, you're one of many fools with a plan and you're only serving to convince me that initially suspending disbelief for the sake of kindness is just a waste of time.

If you intend to do this, go ahead and good luck, but please stop acting like a too cool for school rude dude with attitude. It's not very polite to come to a forum and act that way.

No, you ARE being rude. Your posts are filled with insults and "your post doesn't matter" and "stop being rude and have fun". Um, excuse me? Who are YOU to decide whose posts don't matter or not? We give you honest advice and you immediately shut us down? Who died and gave you the authority to do that?

And, coming from somebody who DOES have authority around here, you will cut this out right away or you'll be having a nice little vacation. Capice?

Don't give me the "let's have fun" excuse. I don't care how much "fun" you're trying to have - there are rules around here, and your derision of other people is in violation of them.

I would like to hear Drazen's opinions on this particular project and what he thinks of the storyline.

I think he shouldn't be getting anyone's hopes up, if what edgehog here says about being in contact with him is true.
