Man, I went today to pick up my new issue of Sonic and they only had Sonic X #1. I really have no interest in spending money on this new series based off the domesticated-anime, no ofense. The place I buy it from I have to drive quite a while just to get it. I'm pretty sure its the only place in the northern half Indiana that still actually carries Archie's Sonic comics too. I mean I looked all over the place. Pretty much from Lake Michigan to Lafayette, there is jack. I guess I'm going to have to get another subscription now, but I'm going to waste money on shipping to get the new issue most likely. Has this happened to anyone else?

I thought this happened to me, too. I went to my local Polly's, and found Sonic X where the Archie-STH usually is. Later, I found the Archie-STH in a different place. No problem.

I didn't have to worry about it anyway, though, because I have a subscription.

So, you could:

-Get a subscription (Thumbs up)
OR
-Call the manager of your store and tell him.

I thought this was spam when I first saw the subject line...

If you're not interested, then why does it matter? Just don't buy it.

How would that be a waste of money? Do the math. You've already spent $2.25. So, now you could go out and buy issues 2-5 at the same price, and you'd have spent $11.25 for issues 1-5. Or, you could subscribe for five bucks and, assuming you did get another issue 1, you'd get issues 1-5 (with two copies of issue 1) having only paid $7.25.

So, which is better?
$11.25 for Issues 1-5 at the store
or
$7.25 for Issues 1-5 with an extra issue 1 you can sell on e-bay to get a little more cash back?

No brainer!

I think you missed the point of this thread. Sonic X is taking up the news-stand space that the regual series once posssessed. It matters becuase I no longer have a purchasing chocie.

Again, you're missing my point. I don't find the subscription to be a rip off, I've had a number of them overe the years. But I would have to pay double to get this issue I missed shipped to me, thats where the wasted money is. I'm not going to get the issue if I get the subscription. I've tried that before and you always get the one from next month first.

Well, if Sonic X allows the current rash of stupidity to leave the original Sonic Comic, then more power to them.

If not, then what's the point?

Even trying to correct the abomination that is the 4Kids dubbing and editing might not be worth putting a comic out in the first place.

I believe the original anime with subtitles is usually a better choice. But I am curious about the new sonic x comic and don't understand why people are putting it down when they havn't even given it a chance yet.

Yeah, the original had better music. But I fear that if the Sonic X comics are more popular than the original comics, they'll focus more on that series and stop producing the original series.

*shrugs* If it happens it happens. There's nothing we can do about it if it does. Though I suppose if the fans show that they prefer the Archie Sonic comics then I suppose they won't take those off the shelves. But it's bound to happen someday. I kind of like having a variety. I have yet to see the Sonic X comic though but I'd like to check it out, espeically if Ken Penders has nothing to do with it.
It's not something I would worry about personally. Besides, Mike said they weren't going to do that anyway but I suppose you never know...archie's lied to us before...

facts 1) sonic comics are going to get better. 2) the reason sonic x comic got higher ratings is that its the first issue and people are wanting to find out what its like. 3) sonic x was awful.

Shendu, facts 1)your opinion(though I like them). 2)your opinion(though it's probably true). 3)your opinion, definitely(I, and many others, like Sonic X, both the show and the comic, thank you very much!)

I've skimmed through the sonic x comic but I didn't care for it at all.The sonic x cartoons(I know this is off topic)are ok,sometimes a little bit too kiddish, but ok but the comic doesn't do anything to grab my attention.but then again it hasn't been out out too long.Archie comic sonic will always be my first choice.

So was AOSTH but y'know. :lol
I dunno...I can't make a judgement based on other people's opinions. I'd have to see the comic itself for myself.

They have started a new comic on Sonic X?! Let's just say I am not a fan of that show. Damn, I just ordered a subscription from the archie comics website late last month, the original one. I hope it stays around awhile longer; What has me worried is that the Yahoo powered store of theirs looks like it hasn't been updated in awhile. I became concerned and e-mailed them asking the status of my order. I know it says wait 6-8 weeks, but I wanted to see if they'd even respond.

They haven't, and I sent that e-mail at least a week ago. Anybody else recently order a subscription from there have any trouble? It would be nice to have some reassurance everything is on the up and up so to speak.

BTW: I've visted this site alot over the past year, but I finally decided to check out the forums. Excuse the name, it's my UNIV. account. I am a huge Star Wars freak, it's second only to Sonic with me.

If you ordered late last month, then it's not even 6 weeks yet. o_O

I've never ordered from Archie online so I wouldn't know firsthand about their service there. However, it will take nearly 2 months for the subscription to start from my experience--ordering through the mail using a comic checklist.

Contradiction?

If I recall correctly, the "regular" Sonic comic was the same way when it first started its run.

Well, to be fair, the art style is embarrasing. I'm hoping that the new guy who starts in a few issues time is a bit better. I mean the SPLASH page made me laugh outloud, it was like spilling blue onto a page and putting 3 stick figures on an oval with LIFEBOAT written on it.

Not that I could do better, but STILL!

Yeah I know it takes up to 2 monthes, I was just concerned about their site is all. They sure as hell charged my credit card for it. They could at least answer my e-mail.

Sonic x and STC are targeting a younger audience than Archie Sonic. I used too collect STC long ago but when I got my first Archie Sonic iss (#127) i could tell the difference by a mile. Sonic X is clearly for a younger audience because its on Jetix. Childs Play.:lol

I'm afraid I must outright disagree with you.

See, Sonic is a franchise which truly transcends age barriers, it applies to the whole market, it always has and always will. Even since day one it's been hitting the fine line between child and teen, without alienating adults (hence why the average age of a MoFo user is between 16-18, with a fair few being 21+)

Sonic X is no different, it's had some wonderful moments which aim to kids, teens or adults respectively. The uncut version of the show (especially Season 2(US/UK 3)'s finale) carries alot of hard hitting scenes, particularly Emerl's "death" at the hands of Cream and practically every single scene with Rouge and Knuckles being laced with inneundo "If we're going to live together, I'll keep you up all night" - "I'm a BAT! What the hell did you think I meant?!"

The Sonic X comic hasn't got into stride yet, so you can't openly judge it just yet. Give it time, the target audience and themes will surface eventually.

The uncut episodes of Sonic X actually have stuff like that? I may have to look into finding those, I hate the way 4kids has to censor everything.
