Hey I used to be a fan of the Sonic comic and still have issues 3, and 15 though about 60 including all the Specials from that time. For me the comic lost my interest a little after Robotnick died. I know he came back in some way or form (right, half robo I thought) but haven't read any since then. Can anyone give me a quick rundown of what's happened since then and what's going on now, and if the comic is still holding your interest just as it used to.

Robotnik came back as Robo-Robotnik, a Robotnik from another dimension. The Mobians retreated back to Knothole. Nothing really drastic happened from about #75 to #125 - just game adaptations, plots that didn't really go anywhere, and a lot of one-shot stories that had no relation to a story arc. Around #125, all of the Robians (except Jules) were deroboticized, aliens attacked Mobius, and Sonic was sent into space with everyone thinking he's dead. A year later (but just six weeks for Sonic) he comes back to Mobius, and some stuff happens - he and Sally break up for good, the war changes from "guerillas vs dictator" to "knothole kingdom vs eggman empire", Angel Island is liberated from a dingo takeover, Shadow shows up a lot, Sonic starts dating Fiona the Fox. At the moment we're in "The Darkest Storm" arc, which (apparently) involves the biggest story since EndGame. It's basically Mammoth Mogul & Ixis Naugus & Robotnik & Finitevus (scary echidna dude) & Anonymous (we don't know who it is, but they've basically vowed to destroy Mobius) versus the Freedom Fighters. The comic's just been given a new head writer, and while the stories seemed to be going downhill from about issue #90 onwards, they've drastically been picking up in quality as of late. If you're interested in checking them out again, get #160-#162, as they're basically a new era for the comic.

Wow you really brought me up to speed! Thanks alot! It sounds like some stuff did happen but yea I quit reading because it was mainly one-shots and I feared it would be that for a long time since Robotnik was gone. I know they started bringing in someone else but nobody can compare to Robotnik. Is the Mammoth Mogul from the Sonic Special where the Freedom Fighters and the Chaotix team up (also featuring Dulcy the Dragon I belive)? I kinda liked that villian but can't remeber his name. I may actually give it a chance since you said it's kinda starting a new era. From what I've seen I think the artwork has kinda adapted to the current Sonic games (longer body and green eyes). I loved Spaz's Sonic back in the eariler issues (especially issue 25), am I correct in thinking the overall stlye has been changed?

Yeah, Sonic has green eyes, Tails his blue eyes, and Knux his purple eyes. The Chaotix (Vector, Charmy, and Espio) all have their Sonic Heroes/Shadow look, but they had to do this because Sega demands that their looks are up to date to match the games since after all this is their licensed characters.

So the Chaotix are regualr characters in the Comic? I really liked the Chaotix team when I first heard of Knuckles Chaotix, and thought they worked very well in the Sonic Special with Mogul.

They're not so much regular characters lately - they've been featured maybe every eight issues or so. But Ian apparently has plans for them, so they might start to get used a bit more often.
