First off I don't know if I have to discuss this here I don't think so besides the ezhack seemed to have killed most of it. If I'm wrong please don't kill me.

He used the power of red chaos emeralds instead of green, and it made Super a separate, power-hungry entity to the regular Sonic.
That was a total rip off the Fleetway comics.
This issue is also prove that Archie can't count. He uses six emeralds, when he's supposed to use seven. We can forgive them for the lackage of rings though; the games have long since abandoned the 50 rings rule.
No they haven't. As far as I recall, they don't mention Sonic collecting the rings but he just kind of has them and they are depleted in much the same way as in older games.
Actually wasn't the last time we saw Super Sonic/Hyper Knuckles as a result of seven emeralds and fifty rings way back in the SS vs. HK special? Every other time since, they've just absorbed pure chaos energy from somewhere - Master Mogul, Master Emerald, Chaos, etc.

BTW, that's a Sonic #125 topic you linked to--not Sonic #126. Also, if you're semi-looking for details for a particular issue, it's the reviews that you should be reading (even if there can at times be differences in terms of what happened due to everyone's opinions).
