Umm... no. That's not the way we do things around here, Shendu. If a mod thinks this topic is useless (and it isn't useless), it will be locked. If you don't want to know what's coming up, just ignore the topic for now.
Anyway, both of these stories have potential, but "System Reconfiguration" may suffer from a classic Penders flaw: The inclusion of too many characters will lead to a lack of focus, just as in "The Good, the Bad and the Unknown."
i never said it was useless i said it will be useful later, soon this topic will be important. btw i said locked as a joke because its too far in the future to disscuss. tempermiry undissussable. this is MY opinion, discuss if you want.
We always discuss issues in advance here, Shendu. You don't have to participate.
As for me, no Knuckles, no Chaotix, no interest in #158.
I'm slightly curious as to how a chao could potentially be so dangerous other than the fact that Cheese does all the fighting for Cream in Sonic Battle. ;p I'll have decided long before this issue comes out whether or not I'd become a re-subscriber.
Has anyone heard of Ron Zalme before?
Thanks, Craig ^_^
And yeah, the piccies on display do look nice. ^^
i said you can post if you want, im not stopping you. also i know you talk about issues here and so do i, i just think its too in future. lets just discuss the iss, i am sorry if i got on your nerves . anyway back to topic, i am glad that it sounds like a good storyline. its probably the first iss where Shadow has something to do with Knothole, and this new army? sounds sweet.
I think the army has something to do with the weird grape vine/matrix thing the echidnas are trapped in. But then again I could be just way too eager for that plot point to be resolved.
That's an interesting idea, that the Egg Grapes are turning its victims into bionic birds. Eh, not very logical, though. Well, I believe Ian P. Flynn said something about the Grapes becoming a large plot point in the near future...
But remember, half of these ideas were probably scrapped completely, so we'll be lucky if we see a return of COCONUTS, IXIS NAUGUS, VOID, BARK AND BEAN, and the BATTLEBIRD ARMADA.
I hope the other writers are inspired by this...

Edit: Oops, this topic is becoming off topic, I apologize!
I think userpjx was referring to the army of Metal Sonic Troopers referred to in the spoilers. I don't think the echidnas, ants, etc. captured by Hunter would be turned into Metal Sonic Troopers though.
Whoa. I just reread this thread. I must've been half asleep when I wrote that, heh. -Embarrassed-

Sounds like it's just going to be a whole lot of clones of Metal Sonic, which is just... gah. Ken's not even pretending to have respect for the history of Sonic anymore...

Not necessarily. STC did an army of Metal Sonics years back, and we got some good stories out of it. At the very least you can get a good fight scene out of loads of Metal Sonics.
KARRLLL!!!! *sob*
back on topic.
i do hope this arc includes at least one of the following plotpoints that penders seemingly neglected to mention since Said issues.
1. The "Doctor" in GBU will reveal himself.
2. as mentioned earlier The Grape thing created by Karl.
(being turned into metal sonics makes sense to me.... WOAH WOAH WOAH wait a sec, isn't that the exact same thing that's been happening in the OMAC project?)
But that's almost impossible... infinite crisis and all it's plots have been a closely guarded secret for the last 20 years... whatever lets just call it a coincidence.
3. Shadow's "Mysterious" origin is revealed. (it'd be nice.)
4. MR. anonymous (SP?) will reveal himself.
i think it's about time that at least 2 of these were answered.
on a separate note: did Penders write Anonymous?
Wasn't that a Romy story?
At least on the upside, we appear to be done with Romy as well.
Anonymous was a Romy story--yes. When Mike answered our questions back in May, he said that Romy only had 2 more stories left. Romy wrote "Chosen One" and "Fairy Tale" so I'm figuring those were the final two and that she's gone.
Ken's not even pretending to have respect for the history of Sonic anymore...
After reading Karl's proposal, I am at half a mind to write to Archie and inform them that their disregard for the fans of the Sega continuity (aka: your insistance on using "fan character Ken") has forced me to back away from the comics for good, as I cannot be dealing with plots derived from a 13 year dead cartoon, a spin-off series I never read nor had interest in because of it's unfaithful depiction of the lead character and a bunch of irrelevant characters who have nothing to do with the source material.
I've literally had it up to here with Archie. That said, I still don't think Karl was our saviour, he was just about the only one who tried to make plots which gave game elements a peek in, and when it comes to things like Return to Angel Island, I think that was more Jon's influence via character redesigns and soforth, than Karl's own imput.
The main comic has officially lost me as a reader, months ago, now it's just double-bolting the doors and putting a sign saying "There ain't no comic and there never was" and a small munchkin man with a Mussolini beard at the gate to prevent entry.
Meanwhile: if Sonic X's art improves as much as that makes it seem. WIN! It's doing pretty well for a learning curve.
Not entirely true. It was Karl's desire, but Dub and other people could provide him with the info he wouldn't otherwise get/have to do it.
I expected more discussion in this topic...
Anyway, I've been trying to keep myself updated in WestField Comics, but they seem to be missing cover scans for Archie's section. Is it just on my moniter, or is this true for all of you, too? And I'm so anxious to see Sonic #158's cover...
EE
They don't always have a cover and this is one of those times.
Ah, I see. #150 and #151 were issues that Westfield didn't supply covers for, too, eh? Are there any other sites that have cover previews? Thanks for the info! =)
EE
well, on the plus side it looks like they aren't having a backstory this month.
(Doubtful)

The part about Uncle Chuck making a "revelation" of his own makes me think of a possible backstory, maybe a continuation of #154's backstory.
-Did anyone notice that M, Mecha, is in this issue besides me?
-What do you think of the line about "Robotnik" making his own amazing "revelations?" I didn't know what to assume of that. 'Tis quite queer.
EE
P.S., I'm using QUEER as a synonym to "odd." I forgot that I probably should have mentioned that.
To be honest the uk version of sonic the comic was the only reason that I decided to start on the us version.I can only hope this horde of metal sonics will wind up being as good as the brotherhood of metallix stories from STC.
Though 10-1 these guys will be a minimal threat for about 4 issues or so and will wind up being as smart as Adam combined with windows ME .
well, i doubt they will be smart. but the idea that all of the echidnas that were captured being turned into metal sonics makes a lot of sense to me.
If it were up to me the echidnas would be used as live shields for all of Eggmans bots. Or perhaps, living bombs! *too much Gundam for me* Shame its an Archie comic, because that automatically guarrantees this will never happen.
As for the Metal Sonics, they probably wont be as strong as the last Metal Sonic(s). It's just how these things work. The Shadow clones in Shadow the Hedgehog were weak compared to the original. Plus Eggman probably doesn't have the resources to make them all liquid terminator types. Metal Sonic dummies would be something different... essentially they'd be low budget dolls (maybe one of Eggmans old badniks would be inside the Metal Sonic shell), that appear to be active to give off the illusion that there's more Metal Sonics. So when Sonic goes to attack one, it'll distract him from the real Metal Sonics.
Damn it reminds me of Buffy. Took a whole episode for her to kill an uber vamp because they're that strong, but then by the end of the season she was killing dozens at a time. I bet that'll be the same case in this upcoming story.
