Wasn't that Chao Garden story the story that Ian wrote for the regular comic? And what is Uncle Chuck doing in Sonic X? I think someone at Archie has their wires crossed...

I don't like the sound of that title. Like they're planning a continuity reset.

Sounds like a different story to me.

In SX, there is a Chuck who is Chris' human uncle.

FYI - in the world of Sonic X, Chuck Thorndyke is Chris's grandfather.

Solicitations are generally written by the marketing department, not the editors of the titles. My guess is that marketing thinks one Chuck is the same as the other.

As for Ian's story, I have not read it yet, so I can't comment on its contents. However, I doubt editor Mike Pellerito would commission both stories if they were too similar.

Is anything correct about the solicitation for Sonic X #6 other than the writer/penciler? It doesn't seem to be from my vantage point.

*ahem* Well, I hate to say this, but "I Never Promised You a Chao Garden" is not penciled by my good friend Ron Zalme. It was decided about eight or nine pages into the story that Ron's work was not close enough to the Sonic X house style. It's too bad, because the pages I saw were beautiful. I love Ron's work. However, I have to admit that Ron's style was definitely more tied to an American comics sensibility than to a Japanese sensibility.

The penciler for these two issues is Tracy Yardley. As disappointed as I am that Ron isn't drawing the issues (we've been trying to get some paying work together for years), I'm absolutely delighted with Tracy's work. I predict you'll be seeing a lot of his work on Sonic comics in the future.

I really do know how to spell my own name. My cat was helping me type and decided to give me a promotion. I'd go back and edit the post, but I don't seem to see how.

Provided you're logged in (instead of just entering your username and password at the top of each post), there should be an "edit" button under your name for every post.

Like so:

On Topic:

Obviously, we haven't seen Ron's work on the book yet, but it's kind of depressing to know he was let go even before his debut.

Which is a little odd, because according to the profiles, Chuck is only 12 years older than Nelson.

Somebody please adjust the medication of whoever's writing the blurbs! I know they're only supposed to tease while not revealing anything, but I'm wary of terms such as "action-packed," "sensational," "non-stop thrills ... bound to leave your head spinning!" To me it's a bad sign when they turn up the hype to eleven.

Unfortunately, that's one of the more relaxed comic solits I've seen recently. :(

Apparently, no matter which Sonic you are, you're going to have a multitude of things crawling all over you. Fun.

Hold on a minute, I've been reading the normal Archie Sonic comics for the past few months and I just sent out for 4-issue subscription to the Sonic X comics, but I thought Sonic X was supposed to be a miniseries and that I bought the whole series with my 5 bucks. Now you say that they're already planning a 6th issue? What the?! Is SX a whole new series now? By dangit, I always get the news last.

The Sonic X cover is ace. I'm glad they've weened themselves off official TMS art.

I was flipping though Sonic X #5 and when they showed perviews for Sonic#159, what it said at the end of the preivew is something like that person behind the Mecha Sonics ill shock everyone, or something like that.

Just thought I'd pass that along.

Have a good Sunday.

If it's not Snively or Rotor I'll be surprised. Snively because it's the most obvious choice, and Rotor because his memory has been incredibly selective in this arc.

I'm hoping it's Tommy's Nano-Bots going crazy.
