I think that Knuckles is going to be the one to make the ultimate sacrifice. I figure that someone will manage to get through to the unbrainwashed part of Knuckles' mind and Knuckles will get rid of his extra power in the same way that Titan Tails did after he vanguished Mogul's universe eating form. If Knuckles were to do this, he could theoretically un-do alot of the damage he'd done under the name of Enerjak before he changed back...But that seems kinda un-Iany to reset everything.
Although Locke dying wouldn't be that unreasonable. Maybe he'll be the one to get through to Knuckles in the end. I would be disappointed, though -- Lockes's death was probably my favorite part of the M25YL storyline. Even if it was a touch soap-operay, it really emotionally disturbed me to see Locke hooked up to all of those medical machines. Hospital machines have always freaked me and it had weird effect on me to see a cartoon echidna attached to one -- like reality creeping into a dream.
Not that I'm against making M25YL non canon. Or whatever. I think the current writers should always have the freedom to go where they feel they want to. 'Course, I like Locke, so even without the M25YL thing i'd be sad about losing him.
Md, HOW DOES THAT MAKE ANY SENSE??? SEGA would NOT have Knuckles die AGAIN! The "Ultimate Power" arc caused Sega to become a bit angry at Ken, so I doubt it will be Knux.

They wouldn't have been able to run the story without getting Sega's clearance first. All stories are run by Sega before they're even printed, they're not going to wait until something is already out there and then get "a bit angry" at the author of the comic.
I highly doubt that Lara-Le is the secret weapon against Enerjak that the Brotherhood developed. Or if you're talking about Locke's mom, Jenna-Lu is as good as nonexistant, since she only showed up in one issue and the occasional mention by Sabre.
Knuckles dying off again wouldn't just anger Sega, it would be stupid: they've already done it once before, so doing it again would be pathetic and pointless. Locke seems a good candidate for the ultimate sacrifice, and I could see him being zealous enough to give his life if he thought it would stop Enerjak. Whoever it is, if the ultimate sacrifice actually involves someone dying, it had just better not be anyone cool. If it's someone the comic could do without, then I'll be good with it.
But I swear that if Julie-Su dies, I'm quitting the series.
I can see Lara-le being trotted out in order to pacify Knuckerjak. At this point, she's probably the only one who could talk him down.

I'm glad they've got it back as Hyper Knuckles. I always thought "Super Knuckles" was a horrible error that the editors didn't catch.

Nope - Super Knux was never canon.
Hyper Knux had his game debut at the same time as Hyper Sonic. Super Knux was only ever available as a lock-on with Sonic 2.
How was he never canon? In S3&K, if you get all 7 chaos emeralds, you get super knux. You need the super emeralds for hyper knux. Tails is the only one who only gets one extra form in that game

Yes, you can become Super Knuckles in Sonic & Knuckles as well.
