I gotta say, from this preview the Eggman and Dimitri part might be my favorite scene in this arc (Metal and Mettle) so far. I love how Tracy drew Eggman and his expressions. Also, I love how into the Hedgehog battle Eggman is getting. I'm surprised that Dimitri looked even kind of surprised that Eggman put something in the DEL to keep them in line. Also, I actually did think he was going to put explosives in the DEL. Looks like a lot of foreshadowing for things to come.

I like the depiction of Dr. Eggman. When he wants to feel like a big boy he gives Sonic and friends windy, heavy handed speeches, but in the mean time, he's almost child-like. I also like how Metal Scourge is considered a little absurd even in the universe of the comic itself -- that makes it alot easier for me to swallow. Sort of like the Croctobot thing way back when. I saw his debeut at the cliffhanger and thought to myself, "Oh, God. This is lame," and was pleasantly surprised to see Sonic felt the same way in the next issue.

I'm more interested in the up-coming trip into the Anti-Mobious at the moment, though. Come on Sonic, jump in the portal...

I too love Eggman's characterization. I love how Ian makes him act, it makes the character so much more funny and interesting to watch. It's also pretty interesting contrasting his goofy behaviour with how evil he can be. I also love how Eggman basically controls the fate of half the echidnas that are left with explosives he planted in them.

Also Kayla, it's the Dark Egg Legion, not just Dark Legion.

Legion, Egg Legion, same difference. They're the same group, just with a different name.

I honestly can't say I'm surprised by the explosives in the Dark Legion (I refuse to include Egg) implants. Eggman has always been a double-crosser, and I wouldn't be surprised if he's getting a huge army ready to strike at New Mobotropolis and is just letting the Dark Legion be worn down until he's ready. Dimitri's going to have to be a lot sneakier if he's going to take down Eggman from the inside-but at least the guy's smarter than Snively.

If Eggman would mass produce Metal Sonic in different colors and patterns, I bet he would make some bank off that.
"Metal Sonic- Buy one TODAY!"
Shoot, I would.

Oh, #192 looks interesting, yeah.

And the last panels with Fiona and Scourge might be a hint of the end for them (personally) and a hint towards the supression squard's of having of enough of their King.

I think they had enough of Scourge back in issue 188, before they even got to Mobius.

I was gonna say, I mean it's been obvious that the Suppression Squad disliked Scourge and the fact that he and Fiona were ruling the whole time. They openly hated him before he changed into Scourge, and I'm sure they didn't enjoy getting threatened/beaten into submission. They've even strongly hinted at their hatred of Fiona and Scourge several times since #188, where it was first hinted.

As for Fiona and Scourge, there have been tensions between them since #180. They started to fight and bicker starting in that issue. Along with that, he screamed at her in this issue and treated her very roughly in #190, even after she saved him. I think it's safe to say that Scourge hasn't been making any friends in a long time.

Serves her right. That's what she gets for willingly going with someone she knew was dangerous.

I do agree that Fiona should have thought twice before deciding to get together with a womanizing crazy guy. I also think that Scourge and Fiona might have a bit of a falling out near the end of this arc at this rate though.

I'll bet she'll wish she'd never burned her bridge with the FFs.

I wouldn't go that far. I don't think she regrets a thing that she did to Sonic, Tails, or the rest of the Freedom Fighters. She might regret throwing her lot in with a borderline abusive guy, but only because that affects her. Regardless of what happens at the end of this arc, I think she'll remain evil.

Possibly, but she strikes me as the type of person who needs contact with other people.

If she cuts her ties with Scourge and the Supression Squad, she'll be alone, and I don't think she'll be able to handle it.

She might be able to handle herself alone, but I could see where you might think that. There is a long list of rogues who she could join afterward. She could join a number of people like her old friends Bean and Bark or the Destructix (I'd say she could go back Nic, but Ian pretty much confirmed that we probably won't be seeing Nic again while he is the writer http://bumbleking.com/for...3361&highlight=#23361 ). She could end up doing a number of things once this is done, she might end up in jail (I kinda doubt that though) or staying with the Scourge (which I really doubt at this rate). I think Ian will want to keep her on the villains side for now, for the sake of having more female villains, which the comic lacks (you can check his script bits for if you want proof of that reasoning).

If she does stay with Scourge she'll be, what, the third character to have abuse issues? First there was Hershey, then Dulcy, and now Fiona? Did I miss anyone?

No, you're not missing anyone. If you notice, I do note that I think it is really doubtful that she will stay with Scourge. I don't think she'll get truly abused by Scourge (I guess one could argue that from the way he has treated her he has already abused her), but I think she'll cut her ties with him before this is over.

I liked Jules in the ending side story. He managed to hit a nerve or something. Just why did Scourge end up crying then? Some sort of issues with his Jules?

From the looks of it, Anti-Jules basked in the attention of his many fans instead of the attention of the then Anti-Sonic; instead of Jules Prime who was out of Sonic Prime's life because he was a captured, if you will, war hero who did pay attention to his son when he could.

I can't say much for this issue, but I will say that Jules is one baaaaad robot. The way he just sits on that chair is just his crowning moment of awesome.

Now that I have gotten to read the comic, here are my thoughts: I don't think Fiona regrets betraying the FF's at all, during the fight when Sonic says "This brings back memories?" she says "In your dreams." Even though Scourge yelled at her, I am not ready to say that Fiona will be through him with by the end of the storyline. She may leave him, though, I can't tell for sure what she will do. They seemed friendly enough, to me, at the end of the main story. I liked the change between Elias, Sonic, and Sally, and Jule's backstory. I am surprised that Jules made Scourge cry, I agree Jules really touched a nerve with him.

Yeah, Scourge is friendly when things are going his way. When they aren't, he gets more abusive, rough, and more likely to scream at her. Fiona only seemed happy because she seems to like Scourge and his evil streak. She seems blind to a lot of the borderline abuse she seems to be receiving. I could see where you might think she stays with him, but I think this is one of those things where we'll have to wait and see #196 or more issues towards then to see how things shape up/end up.

I think Fiona is genuine with her feelings and won't go back to the freedom fighters. And the side story with Sonic's dad was cool. I liked it more than the main s tory for some reason lol.

I don't know if this was directed at me, but I never meant that she would dump Scourge to go back to the FF's. Just that she might leave him to do her own thing because of the way he has treated her when he's angry.
