We start off where the preview pages left us, with Eggman running rampant in his Egg-Tortoise (Does he have a whole mechanical zoo in there?) running through the armies while he goes after Sonic, as usual.

Meanwhile back at the ran--er hospital, Sonic is paying a visit to Bunnie, still recovering from the recent battles. Ken shows up with a bouquet of flowers to offer his apologies (chronic apologizer he is now) for what happened but Bunnie tells him not to worry. The Quack is not to pleased that Kahn is refusing to stay in his bed though. Sonic reassures him that he was with Kahn the whole time, who takes this as a chance to go on another tangent to complain but eventually gives up. Bunnie and Ant reassure Kahn that they forgive him even if he doesn't think he deserves it...*sigh*

Nicole breaks up this fun to report that something large is abound...sounds like a threat to me! Then again considering Nicole's rep as of late...anyways Sonic leaves to do his thing and Kahn tries to follow but the doctor shoots that idea down pronto!

Meanwhile, Sonic is speeding along when he discovers Eggman tearing up the scenery searching for Knothole...wha? It takes him a few seconds to realize who it is and responds to Sonic's welcome with a response that would make Michael Bay proud. Sonic avoids the mass of rockets while Eggman sputters off nonsense, so he's still good and crazy.

Back in Megaopolis, the place is on the red level of alert as everyone prepares to go after Eggman. Fancy Hat Ninja Girl appears to let Regina know that Espio failed in his mission and was recalled back to the Shinobi clan. Regina isn't too happy about this either and tells her to return to the Dragon Kingdom and keep the other houses in line...hmmm. Sir Nose lets her know that everything is ready and she seems eager to make sure Eggman doesn't screw things up. She leaves the Legion in charge of protecting the home base but since Lien-Da gets stuck with babysitting, she gives the ol' finger to that plan and decides to take a nap.

Tails arrives, shocked to see that Eggman is back and...not in charge. Sonic is convinced he still isn't back (As in sane) and asks Tails to disable the guns. For some reason, Tails is able to disable EVERYTHING from a simple panel underneath but notes that Sonic should have won this fight a long time ago. He asks aloud if Sonic is taking it easy and Sonic confirms it, which really demands an explanation! Since he broke the poor Doctor, Sonic feels as if he's crossed a line or something, convinced he'd be doing the equivalent of punking a retarded kid. Tails reminds Sonic that this IS Eggman but agrees they don't have to be super cruel to him. Sonic thinks the best thing is to just lock him up. Tails thinks he's still dangerous but all of us can see that isn't the case right now (Watch me be horribly wrong). He tries to shake hands but gets a fist in the face. The doc celebrates this but soon descends back into mad raving. Before they can get away, Regina and co. show up, demanding the doctor and their surrender as well. While Tails hauls Eggman off, looks like Sonic takes on the army. Aka will the Legion get away with yet another victory?

The side story has Lien-Da moping about how she should be in control of the Legion for like...the millionth time. Years ago while the Legion was still stuck in the zone, with her and Kragok conducting a secret meeting. While serving under Luger, both her and Kragok agree to be joint Grandmasters, after she takes out Luger with an energy cannon of course, that would atomize the target. Sure she's taking out her real father but both consider Monitori the real dad. Of course it wouldn't be past Kragok to make it a bit unstable...so three guesses as to what happens after Lien-Da takes Luger out?

While she's recovering, Kragok reveals that he is amazed she accomplished her mission and survived...doubt it. He does drop the bomb that with Luger out of power, there is a void for leadership and he's 'forced' to step up as Grandmaster, thinking it'd be silly to promote the recovering Lien-Da...oops. He does insist on keeping her as Kommissar. Ouch.

Back in the present, she realizes that every time she gets close to the position, some echidna dude steps in and snatches it from her and she is not pleased. After Dimitri summons her to the lab, all she knows is that grandmaster is her destiny and she will take it if need be...hmmm
