Sonic the Hedgehog #90

Planet Earth, Part 3 (of 13)

Inside the mysterious complex known as "Area 51", the government's special guest has been placed into a cyrogenic tube, and is now asleep - the perfect opportunity for scientists, led by the mysterious agent only known as "General X", to discern what he is and why he exists. However, not everyone agree with "General X's" beliefs...and fear there are sinister ulterior motives for doing this.

Despite their superior's orders, a group of scientists have decided to break Sonic out. Their leader's name....Christopher Thorndyke!

Direct Action, Part 2 (of 2)

Mina almost got the Freedom Fighters killed in halting the supply convoy, but unfortunately, the day only gets worse when when some of that convoy included recently activated COMbots!

Knuckles the Echidna #62

Contagion, Part 2 (of 2)

Knuckles manages to figure out how to create a cure suitable for the Black Doom's virus, but before he can write everything down, he falls into a virus-induced coma. Can Julie-Su figure out the last ingredient needed before the entire island dies?

(Hurray! :D )

Sonic the Hedgehog #91

Planet Earth Part 4 (of 13)

Sonic the Hedgehog has been broken out of Area 51 by the man known as Christopher Thorndyke, who claims to have met Sonic before! After analyzing Sonic's busted ship, Christopher and his fellow scientists have discovered that the ship's particles are vibrating at a different frequency; a sign that it's from another dimension. The truth has been revealed; Sonic has travelled to another version of Mobius called Earth, where the humans won the Great War centuries ago.

But before anything else can be learned, a warning siren rings out across the world; an alien force is coming to Earth: the Metarex. And this isn't the first time they've tried to destroy Earth! Will Sonic help out against these foes, even though his super-speed is a no-go?

And also...how does Christopher seem to know him?

Girl's Night Out

Mina is feeling ashamed of herself after her horrible performance in the last battle. So down in the dumps, that not even Sally - who still feels a little sore about Mina and Sonic's apparent relationship (key word being 'apparent') - can stand seeing her like this. So what's the solution? A girl's night out, to eat, see a movie, and a sleepover.

Mina, Sally, Amy, and Bunnie, having a night on the town. What could go wrong?

Hopefully nothing.

Knuckles the Echidna #63

Biohazard

The denizens of the island are slowly getting better with the help of the cure, but Knuckles is not. His own body - altered by Chaos energy from birth - is rejecting the cure. The virus of Black Doom is still threatening to kill Knuckles. The only thing left to do is find Finivetus' old records inside the Dark Legion's base...after all, Finivetus DID work with Black Doom. It would only stand to reason that he possessed files relating to Black Doom's genetic structure.

Can she make it back in time?

(Yes, I'm here. I may as well contribute. 🙂 )

Sonic the Hedgehog #92

Planet Earth, Part 5 (of 13)

As the mysterious General X hunts Sonic and the renegade scientists down throughout the United States, Christopher and his group take refuge in the Pacific Northwest forests - reservations for several Indian tribes. It is here that Christopher begins to relate to Sonic the terrible war that was fought centuries ago, when the Metarex invaded Earth...and the talking animals sided with the Metarex leader, the mysterious Dark Oak.

The talking animals - and Metarex - were thought to have been annhilated, but it appears the latter survived. How will Sonic react to the history of the massacre of his own people? And is Dark Oak still alive after all these centuries?

Knuckles the Echidna #64

That Which We Do Not See

The cure that would save Knuckles was finally obtained by Julie-Su...and Knuckles is returning to normal...but not entirely. Knuckles beging to see strange things - hallucinations, ghosts, things coming after him. What has happened to Knuckles mind? Has he actually lost it? Or is it something else...?

Sonic the Hedgehog #93

Planet Earth, Part 6 (of 13)

Something has gone wrong. The Metarex have surrendered.

As the forces of Earth try to work out why the enemy have suddenly folded, Sonic attempts to deal with the knowledge of both the genocide of this reality's Mobians and the sporadic return of his powers. But the bigger mystery is why does Sonic exist in this world as a video-game character. There has to be a reason for this. Someone is trying to get his attention. Someone who knew 15 years ago that he would arrive on this world.

And while Sonic & his allies head for Japan to uncover the truth and the odd dimensional anomalies continue, the Metarex leader gives a warning:

"E.V.E. is coming."

The Wrath Of Snively Part 1 (of 3)

He's had enough waiting - Snively is heading out in force to flatten Knothole where Robotnik is failing! There is no way the allied nations can fend off Snively's onslaught, not if they want to continue containing Robotnik at the same time. There's only one option - the Freedom Fighters have to go in and take out Snively's fleet before it reaches Knothole airspace!

Knuckles the Echidna #65

Army Of Ghosts Part 1 (of 4)

Knuckles' hallucinations take on a grim reality when Angel Island is suddenly overrun by ghosts! The resulting panic is just what the Dark Legion needed - thanks to their puppet Benedict, they get the government to request an alliance between EST and Dark Legion forces to maintain order! The AUT and Stryker's antagonists aren't going to stand for that!

Angel Island is on a knife edge, and one wrong move will result in a war - and then there will be far more ghosts.

And that's when Knuckles realises what exactly the ghosts are ghosts of, and things get very bad very quickly...

Sonic the Hedgehog #94

Planet Earth, Part 7 (of 13)

Sonic's been having a hard time on Earth. If knowing that the humans killed his kind on this world wasn't bad enough, now Sonic has to deal with something even worse - something on Earth is messing with his body as well as mess with his speed. Right in front of everyone's eyes, he turns from his normal self, to a fox, to a garden gnome, to a snail, to a box, and to an elephant - and keeps changing shape at an alarming pace, and Sonic has no control over it!

Meanwhile, the mysterious General X has finally put into motion his more sinister plans. Who is he? What does he have to do with E.V.E. and the Metarex? And more importantly, what exactly did General X have in mind for his "special guest", Sonic?

The Wrath of Snively, Part 2 (of 3)

Snively's raid is having more success than anyone ever thought it would. Not only is it starting to decimate the Great Forest, but it is within sight of Knothole. It seems that Knothole may be finished....but there is one force that Snively hadn't figured on reckoning with.....Robotnik?

Knuckles the Echidna #66

Army of Ghosts, Part 2 (of 4)

Knuckles learns in his hallucinations that the ghosts are, in fact, the ghosts of Mobians long since dead, having come back to seek revenge on the living. Knuckles' conscious mind is broken by the hallucinations he is getting, and so the ghosts run rampant to the point where they goad all the factions of Echidnapolis to violence!

But in Knuckles' subconscious mind, the guardian tries desperately to break free from his insanity and learn from the ghosts the secret behind the word "Metarex"....before it's too late....

Sonic the Hedgehog #95

Planet Earth Part 8 (of 13)

E.V.E. A bioweapon designed by the Dr. Robotnik of Earth during the Great War, using stolen Metarex technology. However, the moment E.V.E. was unleashed upon the Metarex and the furries of Earth, it became self-aware. After fulfilling its primary objective - annihilation of all Metarex and furries - it left Earth to travel into Deep Space. But now, centuries later, E.V.E. - having evolved greatly since then - is returning. But the question is, why?

Meanwhile, Sonic - his shape-changing still running rampant - and Christopher arrive in Japan, meeting the two men credited with Sonic's 'birth': Naoto Ohshima and Yuji Naka. They reveal their secret: a single Chaos Emerald. Over 15 years ago, they had found it...and sealed within was a blue hedgehog that had told them a tragic tale of his experience in the Great War. He had left soon afterwards to see the world that had moved on without him, while (with the hedgehog's permission) the company SEGA developed and published a game based on his battles against Dr. Robotnik. During these travels, this hedgehog met Chris, thus explaining why the man seems to know Sonic.

It is at this time that that same hedgehog returns to Japan for his 15th anniversary...and here is where Sonic of Mobius-1 meets the Sonic of Earth.

The Wrath of Snively Part 3 (of 3)

Sleet and Dingo lead an army of heavily-modified Badniks - Dr. Robotnik's oldest weapons - while Snively unleashes the remaining Shadow clones. Dr. Eggman's own forces - SWATbots and COMbots - begin an attack on Snively's forces. Apparently, the Doctor isn't intending to let his old foes be defeated by his nephew! He wants the credit for their downfall.

Tails the Chosen One and Mina - who is feeling confident and refreshed after her night out with the girls - lead the charge against both forces, turning the conflict into a three-way battle. Oddly enough, Scourge arrives to fight on the side of the Freedom Fighters! Why? Because there are 'more enemies to fight'. Odd logic, but they need all the help they can get!

Meanwhile, Dr. Eggman watches the battle via remote camera. Suddenly, he gets a visitor off-panel...one that makes Eggman gasp with shock. This causes the visitor to grin with delight.

"Thought you could betray me and get away with it, eh?!"

A stun blast brings down Eggman. The visitor is revealed to be Metal Robotnik, who has escaped the Chrono Zone since his revival by Scourge's wish in issue #86! The issue ends with him opening a communication relay the spans between dimensions...

"General X...and my dear E.V.E...let us bring about the end of our foes!"

General X. E.V.E. Metal Robotnik. Three deadly forces. And they have united. But how? And why?

Knuckles the Echidna #66

Army of Ghosts Part 3 (of 4)

Knuckles is shocked by the images these ghosts are showing him. Images of a bioweapon named 'E.V.E.'...images of Mobians calling E.V.E. the 'the eve of our kind'...the vaporization of another Knothole by E.V.E....the sealing of a hedgehog - who looks like Sonic! - into a Chaos Emerald by an echidna - who looks like Knuckles! - moments before E.V.E. utterly annihilates Angel Island...

These visions are afflicting everyone on the island. Emotions are running high, and people are scared. Fights are breaking out. Benedict, managing to control himself, capitalizes on this fear, subduing the EST from within! The Dark Legion is now in control of Echidnapolis...and the Dingoes and the members of AIU, scared and angry, turn the city into a warzone.

As if things weren't bad enough, Knuckles gets a visit from Zonic the Zone Cop, who looks nearly half-dead. He tells of how Metal Robotnik suddenly appeared out of nowhere in the Chrono Zone and took over. He explains how his own zone-travelling equipment was altered into a device that would link planets together...and how he was using the device on Mobius-1 and the Mobius look-alike called 'Earth', using the dimensional tear caused by Sonic's spaceship in issue #88 as a channel for the device to work. Metal Robotnik is working with a human from Earth named General X, with their common goal being the destruction of the Metarex, a mutual enemy of the metallic Doctor and the general.

The device has a side-affect, however; spiritual energy is pouring over from Earth and into Mobius-1, explaining the sudden coming of these ghosts.

With this new knowledge, Knuckles realizes what the Metarex are. They are allies to the Mobian-esque furries from an alternate Great War, in which they lost...and now, the great weapon that brought their end is coming back.

And then Knuckles, with all the information presented to him, finally figures out what Metal Robotnik is up to.

After destroying the Metarex for General X, Metal Robotnik's going to bring E.V.E. to Mobius-1...and he's going to destroy everyone and everything.

Planet Earth Part 9 (of 13)

E.V.E. has entered the solar system and is advancing on Earth at a tremendous rate! Earth descends into chaos and it begins to occur to Sonic & his allies that she may not just stop at destroying the Metarex - her attack will, as a side effect, devastate Earth in a way not seen since the extinction of the dinosaurs!

As Sonic of Earth and Thorndyke's brigade try to reach E.V.E. before she arrives, our Sonic begins to fear he can't save Earth - but he can make sure there's no way for E.V.E. to travel dimensions to Mobius afterwards!

Apocalypse War Part 1 (of 3)

All contact has been lost with Angel Island, all of Robotnik & Snively's forces are under Metal Robotnik control, and Knothole is being shelled! Sally is forced to declare Operation Last Hope - the complete evacuation of Knothole and the all-out assault on Robotropolis with everything they have! Station Square, Mercia, Downunda, the Babylon Rogues, Blaze and every group that can joins in, hoping to finish off Metal Robotnik before he can bring E.V.E. over!

But not everyone is coming home, and a long-time Freedom Fighter dies in the first charge...

Knuckles the Echidna #67

Army of Ghosts Part 4 (of 4)

Angel Island is on fire. Everyone is fighting everyone. The Chaotix, Julie-Su, Remington - any and all of Knuckles' allies are in the thick of it, and he's on his own.

He only has one option. He's going to have to force everyone to stop fighting and finish off the Dark Legion once & for all - by getting the ghosts to help. Which will require enough energy from the Master Emerald to possibly kill him.

And if you doubt the stakes are high - #68 is the final issue.

Sonic the Hedgehog #97

Planet Earth Part 10 (of 13)

Sonic sneaks into Area 51, using all of the training at his disposal to break in unnoticed. He wants to find a way to close the dimensional tear, using Earth's technology.

However, General X is there. He reveals his alliance with Metal Robotnik and E.V.E. He's doing this to save Earth from the Metarex...and like Dr. Robotnik centuries ago, General X wants to create a bioweapon from Sonic's cells, which have been proven to be extraordinarily malleable due to his past usage of Chaos energy (a fact well-proven, considering how Sonic had a matter transmorpher device placed upon him by X during his FIRST arrival at Area 51). Sonic, of course, thinks the General's nuts.

However, before the two of them can brawl to the finish, a spaceship crashes directly into the base. Within is Sonic of Earth, the only survivor of the outer space assault on E.V.E. Earth-Sonic quickly escapes with Sonic of Mobius-1 in tow, zooming towards a series of ancient ruins in South America...where the Freedom Fighters hid a cache of Chaos Emeralds for emergency usage centuries ago...

Apocalypse War Part 2 (of 3)

Antoine D'Coolette has fallen. Bunnie Rabbot unleashes her rage upon Metal Robotnik's forces, but there are simply too many of them. Even with the likes of Scourge, Blaze, GUN, and the Chosen One partaking in this conflict everything seems to be all in vain. After all, Metal Robotnik has triumphed over the Freedom Fighters before...after all, in his own reality, he ended up winning.

Is the same happening here?

Knuckles the Echidna #68

Fall of Angels

Zonic tries to save what people he can with the limited teleportation technology at his disposal after Metal Robotnik's assault in the Chrono Zone. Knuckles, on the other hand, has fused the spiritual energy of all the ghosts with that of the Master Emerald...and as he siphons its power, he unleashes an EMP blast that neutralizes all of the Dark Legion's technology. Following that, Knuckles fights against the Legionnaires with all his might, even as the Master Emerald's energy continues to bleed away.

Finally, after bringing down Benedict, Knuckles is starting to feel the effects. The island is shaking; the Master Emerald can no longer keep it airborne after the sheer power that was unleashed. He wants to do something, anything, EVERYTHING...

But just before he lapses into unconsciousness, he's pulled into the Chrono Zone by Zonic and the only people he managed to get out...those people being Julie-Su, Vector the Crocodile, Locke, Lara-Le, and Knuckles' little brother Knecapheon.

The final issue ends with Angel Island toppling over as it falls. Everyone on the island - echidnas, dingoes, and every single animal - can only watch as they loom further towards the ocean.

And then they crash...and sink slowly...

And thus the life of Knuckles as Guardian of the Master Emerald and of the Floating Island ends...

Planet Earth Part 11 (of 13)

E.V.E. has just passed Mars orbit and Earth's remaining time is only two hours! Now the only hope this world and Mobius have is in the emergency stash of Chaos Emeralds in South America and the last secret of the ancient talking animals - a powerful Metarex-formed surface-to-orbit weapon charged by Chaos Emeralds! General X and those forces loyal to him personally head out to stop the two Sonics, but nothing can stop them, not when the stakes are this high. General X and his forces are flattened...

...the mighty Eclipse Cannon fires...

...and E.V.E. is mortally wounded!

Of course, with E.V.E. down, there's nothing stopping the Metarex from going back on their surrender and trying to conquer Earth again...

Apocalypse War Part 3 (of 3)

It's Mina VS Metal Robotnik - and they're both too evenly matched! The allied forces are being repulsed by the robot hordes! The inhabitants of Angel Island are too busy evacuating themselves to offer any help!

The Freedom Fighters need a miracle.

What they get is Blaze, pushed to her limits, refusing to let Metal Robotnik claim another dimension like he did hers... and letting lose with all her power in one last suicidal strike.

Which hits the network of fuel lines across Robotropolis.

The battle turns into a hurried retreat as the entire city goes up in flames and explosions, reducing the city to fiery rubble as it meets its final end! And this victory gives Mina the psychological edge she needs, and she manages to land one devastating strike that knocks the robot's head off his shoulders and leaves him an immobile metal captive!

As Robotnik and Snively both scream over the loss of their power and armies, the people of Mobius cheer at this final victory... but as they cheer, it's noticed that the dimensional links with Earth are still there...

Sonic the Hedgehog #100
Planet Earth, Part 13.

There's five minutes to go until Mobius-1 and Earth collide, and the clock is ticking! The Freedom Fighters are weary from all the fighting, and they don't know if they can keep up.

Metal Robotnik is determined to hold out for as long as possible until the process is complete. Even with the combined speed of Sonic and Mina, and everyone else working together, Metal Robotnik is making a valiant struggle.

The seconds are ticking away, and there is seems to be no possible hope to do this. But something inside of Sonic kicks in. Another gift from Earth-Sonic? In the final seconds, there's a bright flash of light, and Sonic transforms once again in Super Sonic. Super Sonic calls upon Chaos Control to slow down time and space to a minimal. To Super Sonic, seconds become minutes, and within the confines of Chaos Control, Super Sonic uses this much needed advantage to destroy the remaining MEGAbots, save for Metal Robotnik.

But.

Things lose control, and Chaos Control snaps back to normal time and space. Two seconds. Sonic can't believe it. He's coem so far, everyone has. He can't let this happen, and everyone be wiped out. No, not Mobius, not Earth. Nothing.

Everyone else can only watch in awe, amazement, fear, and horror, as 1 becomes 0 on the countdown, except for Super Sonic, who smashes in Metal Robotnik's head with his fist in a rage of fury and anger. As Metal Robotnik's systems become off-line with the final blow, everything else in the Chrono Zone begins to either shut down, or malfunction, or both. Zonic whisks everyone away. Were they too late to save Mobius-1 and Earth?

As they reappear back on their homeworld, things seem very different. Very different indeed.

Mobius, Sonic's home, will never be the same again.

Brave New World, Same Old Job

It's One Year Later since the Merging... and both Earth and Mobius are gone, replaced by a larger, more populous Mobius featuring merged settlements, histories and populations. The entire map, both geographical and geopolitical, has been redrawn.

And who will defend this new world from the terror strikes of Doctor Robotnik, the genocidal Black Doom, and all the other super-threats? None other than the new Freedom Fighters 0 Sonic, Tails, Amy, Bunnie and... Nack?!

And this team better keep it together if they plan to stop Robotnik's plan to unleash poison-carrying Buzzbomber hordes on Mobius's greenery!

Censor THIS

Mammoth Mogul's Soviet Union has a vast amount of censorship on it, trying to keep all outside culture out and suppress the minority cultures within. Sonic is having none of that! Donning a disguise to create an alter-ego of "Sneak" - in order to have plausible deniability - he sneaks pass the border to help the Babylon Rogues, high speed freedom fighters and pranksters, deliver vast amounts of banned Russian books to as many doorsteps as possible at high speed.

But can Sonic fight his way past the Destructix, the union's elite defence corps, without being beaten or unmasked? This is Sonic - of course he can!

A New Life Part 1 (of 2)

Mina grew up a safe and happy child, with no troubles and the threat of Robotnik far away. She's the biggest popstar sensation on Mobius. She never had any superpowers and doesn't have to fight terrifying evils.

And if she wants to keep this good life, all she has to do is forget her pre-Merger past and the fighting against injustice.

And that's when she goes on her Mercian tour to South-East London and, though she doesn't want to, sees evidence of reptilian gangster Max Gamble* and the injustice he's bringing to the locals & the Dingo immigrants he exploits.

All she has to do is turn a blind eye to injustice and just walk away.

And there's something inside telling her that she can't do that...

Sorry to bring this to your attention, Charles, but Mina was one of those who still has their memory.

A guide so we all know who does have their memory:
Sonic
Sally
Tails
Mina
Bunnie

Scourge
Dr. Robotnik

Julie-Su
Vector
Locke
Lara-Le

And last, but not least, Zonic.

Love Lost

Bunnie Rabbot has made it a point to visit a grave since the Merging. Every day, she visits the grave of Antoine, who died in the final battle with Metal Robotnik. She fondly recalls all of the happy times - and some of the hard times - the two shared together, forging a relationship despite their inherent problems (Antoine's difficulty with the opposite sex, and Bunnie's partially roboticized body). It's a time for remembrance...and for mourning. Bunnie vows to fight on forevermore...in his honor, if for nothing else.

A New Life Part 2 (of 2)

Mina, relaxing for the night at London - in Buckingham Palace, no less! - recalls the short time in which she possessed Sonic's speed.

She had been able to do good. She had been able to fight. Sure, she had been inexpereinced...but she had been able to do some good.

Perhaps...it wouldn't hurt to help out again...would it?

No. It wouldn't. During her next concert, she bravely reveals what she saw, much to Max Gamble's consternation. He attempts to strike at her...but he's quickly mauled by the crowd. Good work has been done!

The next day, her manager resigns due to the attack. So she needs a new one.

By issue's end...it is revealed her new manager is...Scourge?!

Sonic the Hedgehog #105
Some Things Never Change, Part 1, of 2.
In this new world, Shadow is an agent of Black Doom, and he ventures down to the planet every so often on special missions for his master. This time, here's here to try and steal one of the coveted Chaos Emeralds, sealed away safely in one of the United States most fortified military bases: Area 99.

The US Military convinces Sonic, with Special Operatives Agen Rouge and Agen Topaz, to hunt down and retrieve the Chaos Emerald from Shadow, before he makes it back to the Moon.

Family Feud.
Sally's father, King Max, leader of the Kingdom of Acorn in South America, has disowned his daughter. Why? Because she chooses to fight the evils of this world, unlike her father, who chooses to sit back and not get involved.

In front of King Max's court, including Sir Charles, Sonic's parents, Tails' parents, Warlord Kodos, the Sorceror Ixis Naugus (Oh yes, he's back, because of the Merging) and his apprentice Merlin Prower, and a small, aging scientist known as Nate Morgan, Sally, and the rest of the Freedom Fighters, are exiled from the Kingdom of Acorn by her parents, despite being defended by her brother, Elias.

Now, the Freedom Fighters have no homebase. Knothole is under King Max's juristriction, and they can't go there. Sir Geoffrey St. John, General of the Acorn Army, escorts Sally and the others out of the castle, where they're flown out of the Kingdom.

The Freedom Fighters have nowhere to go.

The Guardian.
The issue has been expanded to include an extra story, and in this third story, Knuckles is the Guardian of the Master Emerald. But, the Master Emerald is not located on Angel Island, it is located in the heart of Downunda (formerly Australia), which is governed by the expansive Echidna society. Albion is a large port city to the north, and the capital of Downunda is the city of Echidnapolis.

Haven exists in this world, along with the Brotherhood. Locke remembers the Merging, and has logged it into Haven's computer to be archived. Haven has a mother-figure as well, the only female Guardian, Janelle-li. Along with her and Locke, Spectre, Sojourner, Sabre, Steppenwolf, Hawking, Thunderhawk, and Athair.

Knuckles knows of Haven's existence, but tries to keep distanced from them, because of his experiences on Mobius-1. Instead, he personally guards the Emerald Shrine, which is hidden deep underneath Echidnapolis. Every now and then he surfaces though, to spend time with his friends, Julie-Su and Vector. The power of the Master Emerald creates a special field of energy around Echidnapolis, protecting it from invaders.

Espio, Mighty, Charmy and Ray are in Echidnapolis as well, and make up the new Chaotix Detective Agency, but in this world's history, their ties with Vector and Knuckles aren't that strong.

General Stryker, a Dingo, leads the Downunda Army. His son, Kage, is a Special Forces soldier for the Downunda Security Team, along with Colonel Remington.

Things would seem to be normal in Downunda, if it wasn't for Dr. Robotnik's impact on the western side of the continent, with Crocbot leading the forces. Standing against him is the Downunda Army, with a special unit containing Walt Wallaby, Barby Koala, Stu the Wombat, Duck "Bill" Platypus, and Guru Emu.

(NOTE: I made the 'issues' larger so that we could do more with this new world that's been created, and it gives the plentiful characters of Sonic's world more 'screen time', which is a problem within the normal comic. =P)

(Okay. Starting with issue 105, we now have a three-story format going.)

Sonic the Hedgehog #106

Some Things Never Change Part 2 (of 2)

It's a fight between Sonic and Shadow at Area 99! As the two hedgehogs fight it out inside a hangar, Rouge and Agen Topaz bring out two mechs provided by GUN, which has become one of the top providers of equipment and manpower for the USA as a PMC. Shadow is forced to retreat without obtaining his objective.

Sonic leaves...while Rouge and Agen Topaz salvage remnants of Shadow's genetic material so that the CIA can discover a way to destroy Black Doom in one stroke...

A New Home

Sonic returns to Knothole, only to find out from Geoffrey St. John that he and the Freedom Fighters have been exiled. He discovers that they've set up camp in a forest north of the Great Lakes in Canada. Now it's a simple matter of creating a new base for the Freedom Fighters - simply called Alpha Base - getting new recruits...and getting permission from the Canadian government to set up shop there.

As it has been said, politics are tiresome.

An Introspective Look Part 1 (of 2)

Knuckles the Echidna offers his assistance in a battle against Crocbot, using his strength and skill to make short work of the invasion force. However, he's gone as soon as he's there, leaving to continue thinking.

His life has been a lonely one. He was raised to guard the Master Emerald, and that's what he continues to do. Yet, his mind can't help but drift back to the times on Mobius-1, from when he first met Sonic...to the return of the echidnas and the Dark Legion...to the constant battles and crises that arose...and of Julie-Su..and his love for her...

Is it a good idea to just lock himself up away in this shrine, emerging only when needed?

He's determined to find an answer...so one night, he shows up at Julie-Su's apartment unannounced, to have a talk with the echidna he had grown to love.

Should he remain as is? Or does he need to change?

In Alpha Base, in Canada, such characters like the techno-genius who can give Rotor a run for his money, Porker Harris, and martial artist Johnny Lightfoot, have joined the ranks of the Freedom Fighters, and they're going on their first mssion.

Sonic (disguised as 'Sneak' for this mission), Tails, Fang, Johhny and Porker are to go to the Soviet Union, and liberate Humans and Mobians being held in a prison camp just off one of their coasts, and free them before they become slaves to Mammoth Mogul.

While there, they run into the Destructix, who are eager to get revenge for their recent humiliation, no matter what it takes.

World of Robotics.
Robotnik and Snively know that this is the result of the Merging, and both plan to use this to their advantage. Robotnik has studied up on the history of this world, which has been archived conveniently in his computers.

Each day, Robotnik's factories continue to pump out various robots, construction robots, enforcers, military, all for his great purpose. He is going to build his island upward, and make it truly the best solidified fortress on all the planet. He will then venture forth, and capture each nation at a time, with his liuetenants, Snively, Mecha, A.D.A.M., Sleet, Dingo, and Hyper Metal Sonic (with a highly-developed A.I.)

An Intropsective Look, Part 2.
After talking with Julie-Su, Knuckles comes to a conclusion. He needs a change in his life. Over the past year or so, it's just been a string of constant fighting. He needs a break, a vaction, a change. Maybe that should clear his mind. Julie-Su suggests they go to the tropical paradise of Hawaii.

So, Knuckles, Julie-Su, and Vector whom Knuckles has come close friends with because of the recent events, take the next flight to Hawaii, leaving the Master Emerald behind.

When they arrive, the warm tropical paradise welcomes the visitors from Downunda with open arms. Maybe, this was just the thing Knuckles needed, especially because of the stress he has endured.

Celebrity Status Part 1 (of 2)

SEGA of Japan and its in-house developer, Sonic Team, wishes to have Sonic visit the country's capital for the Tokyo Game Show, where they'll be unveiling the latest game based on the Blue Blur. Needless to say, some good publicity will help the Freedom Fighters out - who are strapped at the moment since being banished - so Sonic heads to Tokyo.

However, Black Doom has sent Shadow the Hedgehog to Tokyo as well. Why? To replace the finished Sonic game with the Shadow the Hedgehog video game! Can Sonic stop Shadow from switching games, thus tarnishing his video game rep forever?

Khan of the Jungle

Monkey Khan was the one responsible for the Destructix's latest failure. As such, Mammoth Mogul immediately sentences the anthropomorphic monkey to be liquidated.

Fleeing from Mogul's Red Army and the Destructix, Monkey Khan eventually finds himself in Africa, where he finds members of his own kind in the jungles (though they're considerably less intelligent).

He eventually forges a friendship with the lone echidna who lives in a set of ancient ruins: her name is Tikal, and she protects the ruins alongside a sacred water entity that gives life to the jungle: Chaos, who is no longer guardian of the Master Emerald of the Mobius Post-Merging.

Vacation

Hawaii. Land of sand, palm trees, and volcanoes. A wonderful tourist trap, and a beautiful site for nature. A good place to take a vacation at, right?

Not when you put into account the fact that Kragok and Lien-Da have decided to take a vacation here as well! Can the two enemies resist the urge to fight long enough to relax?

Hmm...nah.

(I like the first story. :3 )

Sonic manages to stop Shadow from switching games, but in the process the two destroy most of the Game Show. Shadow disappears before they can work out what happened. As Sonic is the only one in sight, a warrent is immmediately released for his arrest.

Hunted and besieged from all sides, Sonic returns to Knothole... and finds it in flames.

Crash Course, Part 1 (of 2)

Sleet and Dingo are being put through a training simulator; it showcases Sonic's speed, Tails's flight, and Bunnie's strength. When they pass these tests, destroying the simulations, they are sent to do the real thing.

City Under Siege Part 1 (of 2)

10.00 AM. Amy Rose goes shopping in Quebec City, badgering a smitten Johnny Lightfoot into taking her. Nack arrives to meet up with a dodgy contact in the underworld for intel purposes.

10.15 AM. Reports come in of a major disaster in Knothole, and Sonic having disappeared after fleeing Japan.

10.17 AM. Eggman's forces invade Quebec City, blocking off all entrances & exits, setting up anti-aircraft guns, neutralising the authorities, and preparing to mass-Roboticise thousands of people.

Only three unarmed and unprepared Freedom Fighters stand against Robotnik's greatest atrocity.

Crash Course, Part 2 (of 2)

As Tails & Bunnie head out from Alpha Base to search for Sonic, they come under attack from Sleet & Dingo! What can they do when the two mercenaries know all their moves? Make up some new ones, of course!

Old Soldiers: Prelude

Flash back a short while. Knothole is going about its business. Everything seems normal.

Then an explosion hits the outskirts of the city-state. The full resources of the city are poured into holding back the fire. And meanwhile, court magician Ixis Naugus tells King Max exactly what caused it. Or rather, who.

His name is Colonel Stripe. He was a decorated veteran and hero who stood against Robotnik's first assault. He's supposed to be dead.

And he's also the reason that for this entire issue, Sonic has been missing in action...

City Under Seige Part 2 (of 2)

10:18 AM: Amy Rose launches a frontal assault on the SWATbots to buy the others time. She is successful, but is caught by a stun bolt.

10:19 AM: Johnny Lightfoot commandeers one of the anti-aircraft guns and shoots down the mass roboticizer. It lands on him, crushing him.

10:20 AM: Nack steals some robot parts, sensing that they may be useful to him. He considers his options: leave now and be called a traitor, but live? Or stay and help Amy and Johnny, but perhaps died in the process?

Nack makes his choice...

Old Soldiers, Part 1 (of 4)

Col Stripe announces that he issued the warrant for Sonic's arrest, hoping to draw him back to Knothole. Once Sonic arrived, he'd knock him out and interrogate him. His goal is the Ring of Acorns. Since Sonic uses Rings frequently, he figures the hedgehog has the answers.

Once he possesses it, he will use it to make one wish, to destroy the Source of All.
He feels it's the Source's fault that he almost died. And Stripe is willing to do whatever it takes to make sure it doesn't claim anyone else.

Old Soldiers Part 2 (of 4)

In this new Mobius, the Source of All is still a powerful nexus of magical and psionic energy. However, it is also how the mages and sorcerors of the world perform their spells; it is because of the Source that magic exists. The Kingdom of Acorn is entrusted in guarding it. The Ring of Acorns is how one can communicate with the Source...and due to this connection, a magic wish can be granted.

Colonel Stripe once died protecting it. He is now, apparently, alive again. But that would mean a mage was responsible for his ressurrection...but why would a mage willingly want to destroy the Source?

The answer comes at the end of this issue...where Mammoth Mogul, far away in the Soviet Union, is pleased with the results of his genetic engineering program...and can hardly wait to make a wish on the Ring of Acorns...

Hospitalized

Nack the Weasel is feeling rather conflicted with himself; on one hand, he doesn't like being perceived as a goody two-shoes (he's got a rep, after all!). On the other hand, he felt good saving Amy and Johnny Lightfoot.

Speaking of Johnny, his legs were crushed by the mass roboticizer, and he's now in a hospital in Ontario. But there's one problem.

HE. HATES. NEEDLES.

How the heck are the nurses going to give him some anasthetics when he's fleeing as fast as he can (you wouldn't think he'd be able to crawl so fast...)?

Prison Break

Sonic denies any knowledge of the Ring of Acorns. Colonel Stripe is not convinced, so he leaves the hedgehog imprisoned within the deepest dungeon of the castle.

In the end, however, Merlin Prower ends up releasing him. Why? Because Ixis has discovered something shocking about Colonel Stripe...

Sonic the Hedgehog #113

Old Soldiers Part 3 (of 4)

The Ring of Acorns has been nabbed, taken by Stripe and several presumed-dead members of his old unit - and causing chaos and destruction across Knothole in the process! This is just what Mammoth Mogul wanted, what will allow him to use the Source to alter reality...

...except Stripe isn't returning to the Soviet Union. He's using the Ring's power to get himself to open up a way to the Source so he can destroy it directly, and he's got hostages to force Knothole's troops to back off! Sonic is the only Freedom Fighter who can take Stripe on in time - and if he fails and the Source is destroyed, Knothole loses its magical deterrent and Mobius' super-threats will come a-calling. Which is why Hyper Metal Sonic has shown up to ensure Stripe wins!

But does Stripe not realise the full ramifications of destroying the Source, or does he have a greater plan that's outwitted everyone else?

The Case Of The Melted Falcon Part 1 (of 3)

General Stryker, commander of Downunda's forces, is wanted for attempted murder and coup d'etat. So it came as a big surprise when the Chaotix Detective Agency were hired by Stryker to find out what really happened! But who would want to frame the general, and why? And does it have anything to do with Crocbot being so worringly quiet over the past few weeks?

Family Threats
The Freedom Fighters are currently the biggest celebrities in Canada for managing to prevent Robotnik's mass Roboticisation in Quebec - but while they go on live TV, Nack works behind the scenes to ward off an assassin sent after him.

An assassin who just happens to be his own sister!

Sonic the Hedgehog #114

Old Soldiers Part 4 (of 4)

Sonic tries to talk to Hyper Metal Sonic, explaining that there's no time to fight. He has to save the Source! The robot will hear none of this and the two start to fight.

Sonic is being thrashed around by his robotic counterpart, too concerned about Strype to fight back.

Meanwhile, Strype is tapping into the Source, ready to make his wish.

"I wish..." he begins.

"NOOOOOO!' Sonic screams.

"I wish the Source would seal itself off!" Strype shouts.

And the Source of All seals itself off to everyone. It still exists, but no one can communicate with it. Not on this Zone, anyway.

The Case of the Melted Falcon, Part 2 (of 3)

Crocbot has been blackmailed by none other than Rouge the Bat. She framed the general to get him out of the way, and then she could steal all of his accomplishements over the years. Even for Rouge, this is not normal.

Perhaps someone was manipulating her as well...

Family Reunion

Nic the Weasel demands to know what Nack is protecting them for. Her assignment was to kill the Freedom Fighters, not her brother!

She's changed. Her hair has gotten longer, she has a scar on her cheek, and she's definately meaner.

Nic decides that if Nack is a Freedom Fighter, and her job was to kill them, then she must kill Nack too.

Alliances

Ixis Naugus and Merlin Prower, the two most prominent magicians in the Kingdom of Acorn, are now without power, thanks to Stripe's wish. Mammoth Mogul, angry about his failure, decides to capitalize on this event by sending an invasion force - led by the Destructix, sans Khan - to the Great Forest in South America.

The Red Army is marching upon the Kingdom of Acorn. Its overwhelming power will crush Knothole without the assistance of its mages. And the only Freedom Fighter that is on the premises is Sonic.

Fortunately, the United States is an ally...and it sends a protective contingent to assist the Kingdom of Acorn.

It is now a standoff...and neither of the two superpowers are willing to make the first move.

The Case of the Melted Falcon Part 3 (of 3)

It seems that Rouge the Bat was blackmailing Crocbot because she was being paid to. And apparently, Stryker was the one paying her! It's all gone in a circle.

But what happens when the REAL Stryker shows up, having broken out of prison? He had been falsely imprisoned there as an imposter...for the Stryker asking for help from the Chaotix Detective Agency is an android!

This only makes it clear that Dr. Robotnik is trying to manipulate things from afar...but what are his goals?

Family Matters

Nack the Weasel was a thief for a long time. He's done a great deal as a Freedom Fighter.

But some things can't get in the way of family.

Nack, in a change of pace, teams up with his sister! So the Nic-Nack duo depart from Canada to become thieves extraordinaire!

EndGame, Part 1 (of 10)

Neither of the world powers act, so Robotnik does instead. He sends his own troops at the two armies as a diversionary tactic while he works on a special roboticizing gas.

If inhaled, the victim is instantly roboticized. At least that's what he plans to do.

He plans to send it up into a satellite similar to the Death Egg, where it will be released into Earth's atmosphere. Effectively roboticizing the entire planet.

Can anything stop him? This story ends in issue 125!

EndGame, Part 2 (of 10)

Mammoth Mogul and Robotnik have been allies for a while now. Once Robotnik launched an attack on his forces, that all changed - and a nuclear strike has been launched on New Robotika! That leads to Robotnik's own deterrent being unleashed - hidden Combot and Roboticisation cells in the Soviet Union are unleashed, and as Mogul deals with this security crisis, the United States take advantage and attempt to occupy the satellite Soviet states!

The world is on the brink of apocalyptic warfare, and that's even without the Death Egg's construction carrying along. What can Sonic and the Freedom Fighters do, especially when they're down a member? Their only option is to assist the Babylon Rogues in the Union and try & get civilians out of the crossfire. Or at least, that's what they think.

That's when Sally swiftly takes control of Yugoslavia and announces it's now an independent nation open to all fleeing refugees in Eastern Europe & neither superpower will be getting past it to fight the other - and to back this up, she's wielding several Chaos Emeralds and has stolen the weapon-of-last-resort Metal Sonic Troopers from Knothole! It was tough enough for Sonic just being a Freedom Fighter, but being in a position of authority for a whole country in the midst of the Endgame, with fighting going on so near the Yugoslavian border? Is this gambit really the only way to stop the world going to war?

And meanwhile, on the moon, Colonel Stripe returns to his ally Black Doom and announces that everything is going according to plan...

Night Of The Annoying Dead Part 1 (of 2)

The entire planet is on the brink of an apocalypse war, and so Knuckles returns from his holidays to defend Downunda - only to find the threat of warfare has made King Boom Boo and his hordes of mischievous ghosts evacuate from South America to Dowunda for safety! Will he have to put up with the new residents or will the chaos they're causing force Knuckles to make a stand?

Scourge And Drang

The world is on the brink of war and everyone's afraid. So, to Scourge's mind, this is the best time ever for Mina to release a very feel-good CD - and the sales are proving him right! Scourge's malevolence is serving him well in the business world and the war may make him rich (providing it doesn't blow everything up). Of course, this is getting him some very rich enemies - who are siccing hitman after hitman after them! What's a hedgehog to do to protect his Armani suits?

Buy out all the hitmen, of course!

Endgame Part 3 (of 10)

It's fortunate that Rotor's built translation devices; otherwise, Sonic wouldn't be understanding a word anyone was saying. It's a grabbag of refugees as diplomats from the Soviet Union and the United States hurriedly try to establish a ceasefire with New Robotika. The last thing people want now is a war.

But apparently...that doesn't go for everyone. For a nuclear weapon is detonated in New York City.

A video message is played across the airwaves. The Soviet Union takes responsibility. And with the recent attack by the Red Army in South America, along with Robotnik's gas, the United States decides that the time for talk is over. Now one of the most powerful countries in the world is unleashing all of its military might on the Soviet Union and New Robotika.

Night of the Annoying Dead Part 2 (of 2)

Possessing sleepwalkers. Entering dreams. Popping out of graves to scare graverobbers and mourners alike. Generally causing playful havoc in Echidnapolis.

Knuckles, naturally, doesn't want any of it. So he settles for whacking on King Boom Boo until he decides to hit the road. Since ghosts are ghosts, Knuckles thinks they won't mind Antartica...and even if they do get cold, Knuckles doesn't care either way.

Backstabbing Part 1 (of 2)

Dr. Robotnik is grinning at how well things are proceeding. The Stryker android had been found out, but it was all according to plan; the Downunda government's politicians are now wary of each other, not knowing if they're an android or not. Divisions are starting to form...and it's only going to get worse due to the crisis facing the globe.

Robotnik is pleased as he prepares for a hostile takeover of a divided Downunda...but then, his former ally Mogul gives him a surprise. His drones are reporting sightings of elite Soviet Spetsnaz units, just before being destroyed.

Five of them are in the city. Five groups of 10.

Can Robotnik's security forces take on the Soviet's elite of the elite?

Endgame Part 4 (of 10)

The Soviet Union is taken offguard by the US attack, but manages to regroup, sending both sides into a frustrating stalemate.

New Robotika takes the opportunity to release the prototype of the roboticizing gas on the Americans. It works beyond belief.

A stunned President is forced to call off the attack on New Robotika, but not on the Soviet Union. And then the entire world is startled when cameras pick up a mysterious object going into the Death Egg... and a timer appearing on said ship. (The details are in Backstabbing Part 2)

Backstabbing, Part 2 (of 2)

Robotnik's troops push Mogul's back, but the Soviets come dangerously close to reaching Robotropolis.

Not taking any more chances, and spurred on by the sucess of his gas, he launches the gas into the Death Egg. The countdown before it is released is 48 hours. And the clock is ticking...

Endgame Part 5 (of 10)

Sally is playing a dangerous game. She's in charge of the only East Europe nation not involved in warfare, and pretty much all the major power players would like to change that - not to mention factions within Yugoslavia! It falls to Sonic, the Freedom Fighters and the Babylon Rogues to ensure the country stays safe and stable, being seen as everything from heroes to foreign invaders. It's a tough job but Sonic's going on and doing it, but he can't get past the nagging feeling that Sally is in way over her head. He knows he is!

Meanwhile, the Death Egg lies in geostationary orbit around the planet, preparing itself to count down. New Robotika has fallen but Robotnik plans to make a new base out of the entire Earth! And with his android replicas and strategic strikes spreading distrust, war and nuclear stand-offs (who do you think took out New York?), nobody can take the Death Egg down with nuclear missiles in case another nation panics and thinks they're under attack - and nobody trusts each other to NOT launch a nuclear strike at them while saying they're firing at the Egg, so nobody can co-operate. Robotnik seems to be doing well...

...right up until the Black Arms swarm aboard the Death Egg, decimate the Swatbot forces, and force Robotnik to cower in a broom closet. Now Black Doom has command of the Death Egg and he's got plans beyond Roboticisation gas!

Sally has most of the Freedom Fighters dispatched to the Egg, but has Sonic stay behind - he's a global icon, if he's not in Yugoslavia someone might be tempted to attack it. But can the Freedom Fighters succeed without Sonic?

Fight Against Fear Part 1 (of 2)

Robotnik has managed to spread confusion, distrust and fear across Downunda, and Knuckles wants to put a stop to this - but apparently, hitting people won't be effective so he's not sure what to do. That's when Vector points out that if they can prove there's no more androids in the country, it will reassure everyone and they can make a more effective defence against Crocbot (who has decided to go ahead with invading with or without Robotnik's sayso). All they need to do is get the Stryker android taken apart, find the frequency it recieved Robotnik's commands on, and broadcast a Shut Down command across the nation.

It's a good plan and would work - which is why Crocbot is sending the mercenary known as the Hunter to stop it!

Up The Creek Without A Paddle

There's a war going on around her country, which is a problem. The sewage system of Belgrade ceasing to work, that's a crisis! With everyone else busy, Sonic & Sally are working a field mission together once again - deep in the bowels of the sewers, trying to find out and stop whatever's gumming up the works before the citizens get fed up! It's the very definition of them getting their hands dirty, and that's before they take out the renegade Caterkillers behind the problem.

Endgame Part 6 (0f 10)

The Freedom Fighters know they are hard-pressed to win without Antoine and Sonic. So they bring a special weapon with them... Chao. An immortal Chaos Chao to be exact.

They hope that the unkillable, cute being will distract the Black Arms long enough to make their move.

Meanwhile, Robotnik decides that if other countries won't nuke the taken-over Death Egg, he will! Sally and Sonic must stop him before the Black Arms and the other Freedom Fighters are incinerated...

Fight Against Fear, part 2 (of 2)

The Hunter kills perhaps a dozen echidnas before coming face to face with an enraged Knuckles. With a single punch, Hunter is sent flying into the water, where his heavy equipment drag him down and he drowns.

The Downunda Freedom Fighters accomplish their mission, and then set out to find the bodies of the echidnas Huter killed.

Knuckles reacts with horror. One of them is Locke, his father...

Sonic the Hedgehog #122
Endgame Part 7 (0f 10)

Sonic has managed to stop Robotnik's nuclear strike; the Freedom Fighters have managed to take control of the Death Egg, keeping the Black Arms back; the superpowers have stopped fighting for the moment as they re-plan their strategies. For the moment, everything is quiet.

Not for Sally though - with the fighting on hold, she's now being focused on by everyone on Earth in regards to assuming control of Yugoslavia! Both superpowers want her out and cronies of theirs in charge, the natives alternatively want her around or see her as an occupier, her father and Knothole is demanding she return home and turn matters over to him... Things are hard and she's not sure she can take it. And so Sonic comforts her, letting her let go of control in private, and their romance between the two is reformed after so long apart.

The next morning, Sally begins drafting legislation to have control of the country eventually given over to an independent democratic government, while Sonic amuses himself by joining the Babylon Rogues in pranking the foreign troops near the Yugoslavian border.

And the next day is also when, all eyes on the Death Egg, the entire Earth is caught offguard by Black Doom suddenly Chaos Controlling his entire army to an unprepared Knothole and conquering it within seconds!

And that's when he, along with Stripe, opens the Source again - but in a way only he can use, and - thanks to his manipulations over the past dozen issues - no one in a position to stop him before it's too late!

Of course, what Black Doom didn't know was Nic and Nack had sneaked into Knothole just a few minutes beforehand intending to steal stuff. Can Nack bring himself to return to heroism in the face of such appalling odds and when it might endanger his sister?

How The Band Got Together

As a special one-off, witness the formation of the Babylon Rogues in the new timeline and what caused a few delinquents in the Soviet states to become the air-boarding, mischief-spreading rebel group they are now!

Why We Fight

A flashback to Colonel Stripe, as we discover what happened after his famous last stand against Robotnik.

How his squad died and how he was forced to live in the sewers under New Robotika, constantly hunted and starving until he finally collapsed.

How he came to believe that the only way to ensure any real peace and to stop other brave men dying was to force everyone to stop fighting, and whatever it took would be justified in the end.

How Shadow came for him and took him to Black Doom when Stripe was on the verge of death.

How he pledged to help Doom conquer Mobius in order to achieve a glorious peace, even though he knows the Black Arms will use the planet as a staging-ground for galactic invasions.

How he's this close to succeeding...

Endgame Part 8 (of 10)

Nack and Nic, using their stealthy thieving skills, have managed to obtain the Ring of Acorns from Stripe! Black Doom, enraged at the sudden arrival of the newcomers, sics the entire Black Arms upon them, including Shadow. Just before the two are mauled by the powerful army, Zonic the Zone Cop whisks them away into the Chrono Zone, refurbished since the Planet Earth arc. Zonic has been seeking a way to circumvent Stripe's wish to seal the Source off...and the Ring of Acorns may be his key.

Meanwhile, the immortal Chaos Chao calmly returns to a jungle in Africa, revealing that is actually the eyes of Chaos, the water god. Tikal and Monkey Khan, realizing that Black Doom will doom the planet if he has his way, must do something.

Chaos commands the two to gather the seven Chaos Emeralds by any means necessary...take them to the Master Emerald in Downunda...transform them into the Super Emeralds...and bring them back to him.

Then, as Ultimate Chaos, he will call upon the oceans to strike at Black Doom and his Black Arms army...but this will result in the destruction of Black Doom's current location: Knothole.

Khan's Quest Part 1 of 2

Monkey Khan journeys to Yugoslavia, knowing that the Freedom Fighters will have some kind of Chaos Emerald locater. It's the only way he'll be able to find the Chaos Emeralds in time...and he'll need Sonic's help.

But can Sonic trust a former member of the Destructix, Mammoth Mogul's personal guard?

Tikal's Quest Part 1 of 2

Tikal journeys to Downunda, seeking the Master Emerald. She must seek out Knuckles, who - in the aftermath of the Hunter's attack - is in no mood to be helping anyone or anything. His father is dead, and the world is falling into war...as it has so many times before. Why should he bother to fight. WHY SHOULD HE CONTINUE ON WHEN IT'S SO POINTLESS?

Endgame Part 9 (of 10)

As Chaos prepares himself for the battle against Black Doom, the alien warlord himself is forced to rethink his plans with the loss of his access to the Source. Now he's going to forcibly mutate every living thing in Knothole into a Black Arms and the continue outwards, giving him an army large enough to devastate everyone! That's not what Stripe signed on for - but he's the first victim of Doom's mutagen.

Meanwhile, Sally attempts to broker a peace treaty between the Soviet Union and the United States, reasoning that Black Doom and Robotnik are common threats that they need to unite against. Can she convince Mogul that there are greater powers out there than him?

And orbiting Earth, the Freedom Fighters investigate more of the Death Egg - and discover something that may help win the Endgame!

Khan's Quest Part 2 of 2

Sonic has decided to trust Khan, but the news that Chaos is ready to sacrifice all of Knothole to stop Black Doom horrifies him. Nethertheless, he helps Khan find all seven Chaos Emeralds - and that makes it clear that HE'S going in to Knothole to stop the warlord before Chaos sacrifices the entire city-state!

Tikal's Quest Part 2 of 2

The fight never ends. Never. Knuckles can never win a battle that will make it so he never has to fight again.

But Tikal tells him that's not the point. The point is to fight because it's the right thing to do. Because the alternative is death and darkness. Because he made the decision long ago to remain a Guardian when there were times he could've walked away, and now lives count on him. How he feels doesn't matter when the stakes are this high.

And Knuckles comes to a decision. He's not going to give the Master Emerald over to Chaos.

He's going to use it to become Hyper Knuckles and take on Black Doom once & for all!

Coming up next - the final, extra-sized conclusion to Endgame which everything from #101 has been leading up to!

Sonic the Hedgehog #125

Endgame Part 10 (of 10)

The Freedom Fighters, on board the Death Egg, have discovered a weapon with which Robotnik planned to eventually strike the Black Arms with; the Twilight Cannon, a weapon that targets only those with the unique genetic structure of the Black Arms. Thing is, it needs a power source...and the prime candidate is Tails, for he is still the Chosen One, even in this timeline...but his power will not return as long as the Source is blocked off.

Meanwhile, Super Sonic - charged by the seven Chaos Emeralds - and Hyper Knuckles charge toward Knothole, intent on stopping Black Doom before he takes over everyone. Castle Acorn is the only place still under Mobian control, but their defense is rapidly breaking...

But then, in the Chrono Zone, Zonic utilizes the Ring of Acorns to forcefully reopen Source! With the channels of magic now free to flow, every mage and magician on Mobius is now recharged. Ixis Naugus and Merlin Prower swiftly show their gratification by tearing into the Black Arms with magical blasts and powerful spells. Even worse, Chaos - despite his lack of Super Emeralds - also shows up, doing what he can against the Black Arms.

As if Black Doom's troubles weren't dire enough, the United States and the Soviet Union arrive at Knothole with enough manpower to take out any Black Arms that try to escape!

The alien overlord forcefully continues to infect living beings (Even trees!) with his mutagen...and it seems that the armies of the two superpowers will also succumb to the mutagen in due time...

Then the Twilight Cannon is powered by Turbo Tails and activated! Tiny, pinpoint microlasers descend from orbit, skewering every single member of the Black Arms army, destroying them where they stand...but Black Doom, despite his wounds, still stands...

That is, until Super Sonic, Hyper Knuckles, and Chaos strike Black Doom in one last blow, annihilating the alien.

The threat of the Black Arms and Black Doom is finally over...and to cap the end of the conflict, the Freedom Fighters set the Death Egg on a collision course with New Robotika.

Mammoth Mogul retreats to the Soviet Union with his Red Army, seeking to regain control of his borders. The United States stays behind to help repair Knothole. Zonic returns Nic and Nack to Mobius. Chaos, Tikal, and Monkey Khan return to the African jungles. The Freedom Fighters flee the Death Egg before it crashes into New Robotika, rejoining Sonic and Sally in their (apparently) new home in Yugoslavia, while Knuckles returns home to Downunda, feeling set in his purpose in life...willing to continue on, no matter what sorrows await him.

Meanwhile, on the moon...Robotnik, having fled New Robotika before its destruction, is now cleaning house. The former home of the Black Arms and Black Doom is now vacant...and he aims to touch it up before he continues his quest for world domination!

But for now, the weary world is at a needed (if uneasy) peace...

Sonic the Hedgehog #126
Let's Do The Show Right Here!

The Endgame is over and it's time for some peace. Everything is quiet, calm... and Sonic is bored stiff, so he's got Mina and as many different Mobian bands as possible (including, unfortunately, Fabian Vane) to come to Yugoslavia for the biggest concert since Woodstock! This, annoyingly for Sonic, attracts the attention of Sleet and Dingo, who have abandoned Robotnik and decided to strike it out on their own. It's a race against time to deal with them before he misses the good acts!

What he does miss, which the other Freedom Fighters got to see, was the opening act... Hyper Metal Sonic?!

A Life Worth Living

Naugus has an option. With Knothole weakened, two of Mobius' superthreats gone and the superpowers licking their wounds, he's in a prime position to use his powers to take over the Kingdom of Acorn!

But he won't. He has power, he has respect, he has comrades. He is needed, wanted and loved. He has everything he needs.

Rouge's Private War Part 1 (of 3)

Black Doom is dead and the war against Mogul's Union is over. Now it's time for Rouge, Topaz and war-robot Omega to continue a secret war the Freedom Fighters know nothing about. A war against the plastic hive-mind robots known as the Plax, emerged from deep space to further their race by any means necessary. And they've just been noticed near Downunda...

Sonic the Hedgehog #127

A Royal Shock

Sonic Underground manages to defeat Hyper Metal Sonic, but Sleet and Dingo capture them. (The band consists of Sonia and Manic) Sonic runs in and defeats Sleet and Dingo, and gets the shock of his life. According to Sonia and Manic, they're his siblings! And his mother was a queen!

But something doesn't feel right. His mother would have told him if he was royalty, right?

Sonic speeds off with the band. He intends to find his mother and determine the truth about his past.

All She Ever Wanted

Sally remembers a time when she was much younger. She had things that others would kill to get, but she didn't have a father. She coped by imagining what he would be like. Back in the present day, Sally realizes that the father she has is nothing like he was in her imagination.

Rouge's Private War, Part 2 (of 3)

The Dowunda FFs are overwhelmed by the Plax, but Rouge, Omega, and Topaz show up and kick their butts! That's when they realize that it was just a diversion. The main army is miles away...

... Since no one replied, can I do the next issue?

Sonic the Hedgehog #128

Bonds

Bernadette Hedgehog is confused. She's not a queen, and Sonic is NOT a prince! Sonic realizes that Sonia and Manic must be from an alternate Zone. He zooms back and explains that he is not that Sonic.

Sonia and Manic are despondant.

"We're sorry. We confused you with someone else. Somehow we lost him. We've been looking everywhere-- that's why we're doing this World Tour-- and this was our last stop...' Sonia breaks off, crying.

Manic sighs.

"I guess we should go home, sis. Wherever that is."

As the two hedgehogs start to walk away, Sonic gets an idea.

"Would you like to join the Freedom Fighters?" he asks.

Error

What happens when a robot goes mad? Robotnik decides to find out, and implants two conflicting programs in Gamma, his latest creation. Gamma promptly goes nuts, decimating the robots in the lab. Robotnik shuts him down, satisfied with his experiment...

And then Gamma reactivates.

Okay, Sonia, I was gonna make an awesome post, but that died after I read all of yours. There's some stuff in it that needs fixing.

1. Only these people have living memory of the "Merging". Everyone else's lives are unaffected, and they believe this world is the one they've been in all this time:
Sonic
Sally
Tails
Mina
Bunnie
Rotor
Scourge
Dr. Robotnik
Snively
Julie-Su
Vector
Locke
Lara-Le
Knecapheon
And last, but not least, Zonic.

That is all. I'll make a post afterwards.

Sonic Rivals Super Special

A new Chaos Emerald has just surfaced near Africa, and it's giving off more power than any other! Sonic is after it; Monkey Khan is after it; Shadow is after it; Rouge and GUN is after; the Babylon Rogues are after it; Nack and Nic are after it; Robotnik's hordes are after it; Knuckles is after it; the Destructix are, you've guessed it, after it.

So what's going to happen when all these groups run into each other? One really big fight, that's what! It's a one-shot special full of harcore action, and you won't believe who wins the Emerald!
