i have miss some of sonic adventures but issue 88 is one i competely cofused on the cover of issue show Sonic trapped in a roboticatzion device with Charles laughing evily what happened in this issue?
The story changed between the cover being drawn and the issue being released. It's the same for... #105? where Sonic is "dead" and Hope is crying. They changed a big part of the story at the last moment, and it was too late/expensive to get a new cover done.
What makes you think the story was changed?
The cover is only supposed to grab your attention to make you want the issue and only needs to vaguely resemble what goes on inside the issue. It doesn't have to be exact.
I just assumed the story was changed cause that's always been the explanation for other comics where the issue and story don't match.
I think it depends on how one reads the cover. I never thought Sonic was dead on #105 anyway. He just look liked he was hurt. I felt Sonic being hurt is much more attention grabbing than showing Sonic seeing Colin/Agnes "hurt" (as those two were the ones roboticized in the story causing Hope to cry within). There are bland covers, like #150. But the only time I remember stories being changed affecting the cover was the Sonic Adventure adaptation due to Knuckles being cancelled. I could be forgetting other instances though.
