I finally got the issue and read it today. I really enjoyed it, as I've really enjoyed the last three issues. I've been away from the Sonic comics for a looong time and have just recently got back into getting them monthly with #171 (it's going to take ages for the trades to catch up if there is only going to be 4 issues in each - that's about 42 trades! ).

I really love the characterisation in the writing. These could be such 2D characters but they have such full personalities, I'm loving it. Although there are a few characters I'm not familure with I don't feel lost at all reading these.

I don't remember hearing anything about that, but chances are it'll show up somewhere down the line. Ian's first story "See Ya Later Chao!" got pushed back almost two years though, so don't hold your breath waiting for it.
