Sonic #188's cover is terrifying - when I first opened this thread, I was suddenly faced by Sonic looking like he wanted to do physical harm to me.
And yay, Big in X#33! Big rules.
Amy has such a cute expression on the #188 cover
For once the Sonic X issue actually sounds more interesting to me than the regular comic. o_O
love the cover to #33, but what's the deal with this Mogul arc? is it going to be longer than the enerjak one?
God. These Sonic X covers keep looking better and better every issue (And I don't even read the comic anymore)!
Some corrections on the previews:
STH#188
- this is Part 2 of 2, not Part 1.
- Matt Herms did the pencils, not Tracy Yardley
SX#33
- there is no such thing at "Knothill Village"
Sonic on SX#33's cover is priceless. XD
SX#33
- there is no such thing at "Knothill Village"
Although this would have been a very good name for Sonic and Co's base in green hill in StC.
That Sonic X cover is full of win!! Everyone has a different expression.
Cheese - "Either flap your ears, or lose some weight you tubby @#$%!!"
Amy - "Now's my chance to finally steal Cream's shoes!"
Rouge - "GAHH! FROG!!"
Froggy - "GAHH!! SLEAZEBAG!"
Sonic - "GAAARRR! Must eet Tailz hed!! Will stab him with my incredibly pointy nose and gas him with my farty shoes!!"
Tails - "I don't know whether to be more concerned with Sonic trying to eat my head, or why Charmy keeps looking up at me instead of the Emerald."
Charmy - "Tails! Get out of the way! I stung Espio on the upper lip and he's ticked off at me"
Espio - "Gut buck hurr Chummy! I fill beet chu face!"
Chris - "I'm sweating over the fact of how much cooler this cover would be without me in it!"
Big - "Eggman! No kick in crotch pleez!"
Vector - "Eggman! Quit copping a feel and give me that Emerald!"
Eggman - But, your reptilian skin....it's so smooth!"
And now, .....fun with MS Paint
lol
He runs thru Green Hilly cuz he eats his chili, he's Sonic the hedgehog, man! *bricked*
I herby proclaim shigamado KING OF WIN!!!
You may now take your ROYAL THRONE
I agree, gamma, except Shigamado forgot one very important character.
Where's Knuckles' comment?! ;p
I wonder if this comic cover means we'll FINALLY get the Amy Sally Sonic love triangle.
I just wish I could add a half Brooklyn, half poorly done british accent.
Had I had room. I was going to add some dialouge to Amy and Sally.
Amy - I always said Sonic made a good impression!
Sally - This is so traumatic, I may need a perm!!
(Y'know, cuz when the going gets tough, Sally gets her hair done.)
a dungeon underneath a casino owned by mogul. i tell you these descriptions sound very old 'botnik-esque, but i suppose it could turn out cool. mogul could have some truly dastardly scheme working throughout all this, i guess
I think Yardley drew Sally better with longer hair. Amy looks cute though. Its also nice to see Spaz again, although...
Am I the only one who thinks Mogul's getting a little too much focus lately? I could see if it were for a story arc, but he's in every other if not every consecutive one. IMO, he needs a rest..
He's only had major parts in like 6 issues in the past two years. Darkest Storm, #173 where all the "bad guys" (for lack of a better term) were caught, and now the Mogul Rising arc. Considering how little time has gone by in the comic since then and the fact he's in such close proximity, it's only natural he's going to show up a little bit more.
If the focus had been on Eggman instead, the complaint would be that Mogul and other villains don't get enough attention. =P
I wonder if there are enough people who care about Mogul and wherever he gets enough attention?
Funny as the Popeye reference is, I must say that I wish that look of concern on Sally's face were for more than just a lifelong friend. What I want her to be concerned for, I can't say, due to certain restrictions placed on posters in this forum.
Mammoth Mogul's comeback is obviously going to be long and intense-they have to do something to restore his too-often tarnished reputation. Personally, I'm rather ticked off that he seems to be getting more attention than Enerjak did when he came back-full issue stories? Honestly, this arc had better be good, because if it's not-or ends in Mogul being defeated and captured for the umpteenth time-then I'm going to be ticked.
Actually, a hopeful thought just came to me: maybe the reason they're putting so much into this is because they're going to kill Mogul! Not much hope of that, actually, but I can dream...

The Enerjak story took up the full issues (#181-3, #184 if you count the Legion back-up as part of it). It's just backstory was moved from the main strip into a back-up, presumably for pacing reasons. #181's back-up is focused on Knuckles-Enerjak being created, you can't say the full issue wasn't Enerjak devoted.

And that to do with what exactly? =p
I'm personally fine with the Mogul focus...I mean isn't this guy supposed to be super powerful anyways? It'd kind of be a waste to have that potential wasted...any seeing the Eggman Empire schtick was getting boring.
i suppose it also makes sense. the empire took some huge hits while enerjak rampaged so 'botnik probably can't do much. enerjak is gone again so the next villain up to entertain us for awhile is mogul

i think ian is mainly setting up for robotnik to make a pretty big comeback, after mogul i mean. so while they are dealing with him, the empire will be back up and running.
well as for villians.. we did have naugus.. but yeah, he's been downgraded into a big drooling idiot..
Sonic #188's cover is terrifying - when I first opened this thread, I was suddenly faced by Sonic looking like he wanted to do physical harm to me.
I'm afraid he does. He doesn't take having his Twinkies stolen very well at all.
Just wondering if anyone has gotten this issue yet? I am eager to know what happens.
STOLEN FROM BUMBLEKING POSTER "BOOMER"
-The 'enough' came from Sleuth who goes on to say that shackled or not, Sonic could take everybody in the room no problem. He asks where Mogul is, only to get berated by Coconuts. Drago pipes up, gets interrupted by Sleuth, Coconuts leaves, and Sleuth fires back at Drago that Coconuts could take him as well
-Sally and Amy walk in, meet up with St. John who said Elias sent him to Casino Night after Mogul escaped to keep an eye on Mogul's operations
-Rouge sneaks up on them, leaving a perturbed Sally to say that the Destructix and assorted malcontents kidnapped Sonic. Rouge says that she knows where they are.
-Back at the Bar and Grill, Bean asks Sonic why he's so fast, then why so blue, and then if he and Sally are going to get married and have 'mutant hedge-squirrel babies'
-Amy and Sally burst through the door to the Bar and Grill while St. John fires one of his crossbow bolts at Sonic's restraints.
-Sonic handles Bean and Bark, Sally and St. John handle Drago, leaving Amy to handle the former Fearsome Foursome. Scratch and Grounder wisely stay behind the bar cowering in fear while Grounder says that he wished that Sonic was still fighting alone and that Amy wasn't as violent.
-Rouge meanwhile, corners Sleuth and says that Mogul is paying her for something. Sleuth thinks she's turning traitor, but she says this is only something small-time.
-Sonic calls out loudly for Mogul, leaving the casino patrons quite angry. The Swatbot security guards tell him to leave.
-Mogul comes down and says that he thought Sonic was through with him. Sally asks him why he had Sonic kidnapped, he calls Sonic an 'innocent young man' and plays the role of an injured grandfather that is hurt that they would think this to be so.
-Sally retorts in answer with why were the Destructix using the bar and grill to hold Sonic captive.
-Sleuth says that they were using the bar as a platform for mercenary actions independent of Mogul's influence, leaving Mogul to call Sonic's word heresy and say that they have no proof of this.
-Amy says she wants to get a shot at Mogul's head, Sonic likes the sound of that, but Sally, sighing significantly, says that they are leaving.
-As they leave, Drago converses quietly with Sleuth asking why he told the truth. Sleuth says that Mogul really paid them to help to discredit and humiliate Sonic in the eyes of the casino patrons.
-Sally and Amy, still bitter, stare gloomily at the horizon while St. John and Sonic agree that all things considered, it could have gone completely different than it did.
-Sally receives a radio from Bunnie who says that they couldn't find any trace of Nack. Sonic hopes that tomorrow will be better. Which brings us to...
-Fiona supervising Boomer and Anti-Tails finishing up work on stolen globe posts. She says that he is waiting. The two look rueful as she stalks out of the room.
-Coming up behind Anti-Sally and Patch, she demands if they are ready. Anti-Sally mutters under her breath 'more than you'll ever be' which Fiona hears.
-Coming into a room, she speaks to Scourge and says that they are ready at his command, 'your majesty'.
Oh Bean must win this year's award for funniest line in the comic for "mutant hedge-squirrel babies".
I was hoping Hershey would be on the rescue team but I'm glad Amy got her space.
Fiona vs Anti-Sally showdown! Cat fight in the mud...
Glad to see Matt Herms is getting some time on the comic, the guy definitely deserves it.
And ugh, all that white on the Sonic X cover is killing me. D: ...wait a second, wasn't that Sonic pose used on a previous cover?
What's with the wierd look on Anti-Sally on the second to last page?
Yeah, it seems like the blue part should have been an eyelid. Her pupil is visable a little to the left of her nose.
-Gasps- And it wasn't even Jensen this time! It was Josh Ray?
She's cross-eyed and looks like her IQ dropped 10 full points.
Why do these guys wear long sleeve costumes? Isn't it hot outside? Something more edgy might be nicer. I mean Fi gets a new style that suits her. Patch looks like he's wearing his pajama version of his uniform.
Good Anti-Sally, you look kind of cool.
I must say that it's a surprise to see the Anti-Freedom Fighters again. Patch is kind of annoying, as he had his moment of fame and Scourge should have taken him out if he had any sense. I'm wondering where Anti-Bunnie is and if she'll be back. Moreover, though, I'm hoping that there will be no love triangles for either of the Hedgehogs: Amy shouldn't be getting involved with Sonic because he's too old for her and has a romantic interest, and Scourge should stick with Fiona and not go messing around for the umpteenth time. Sorry if that violates the romance ban, but that's the way it is.
I'm hoping that there will be no love triangles for either of the Hedgehogs: Amy shouldn't be getting involved with Sonic because he's too old for her and has a romantic interest, and...
[plugs index fingers in both ears]
LALALALA I'M NOT LISTENING, LALALALALA THERE'S NO MENTION ABOUT ROMANCES OF THE ISOSCELES LALALALALALALA...
[Quickly changes the subject]
... So how about that Bean. Win, yes?
Sorry if that violates the romance ban, but that's the way it is.
"Sorry if me robbing that guy was against the law, but that's the way I roll."
How many times are you going to break that rule and then flippantly act like you're above it? It's there for a reason, you know...
Yep, not because since if it wasn't there the place would quite obviously degenerate from sensible disscussion on the topic to an all out shout fest of shippers. This is there because there is only one right answer for any of the characters in the entire comic.
Nicole x Crim.
What's with the wierd look on Anti-Sally on the second to last page?
XD roflmmfao! i couldnt stop laughing @ this pic of yours for 5 minutes straight!
Obviously its bad coloring by the artist at hand.
But this pic is hilarious! It's if Patch hit a nerve on Anti-Sally's arm...which lead all the way to her brain. Resulting in a temporary loss of all motor skills. Looks like she's slightly drooling, too.
rofl oh man, i just cant get enough of this one! we should put up a new topic forum ONLY meant for shigamado's spoofs.
Oh, i receive my issue this past week, didnt quite like how mogul acted like he was oh so innocent. give me a break. stinks tho my subscription ran out... the last few pages kept me interested.
Thanks Brian. I'm thinking of starting a "LOLSONICS" thread in the Bumbleking forums.
As for Amy's age in the book, it's very debatable. She used that Emerald to age herself. Thing is, we don't know how much she's aged. For all we know, she could be very close to the same age as Sonic. (Physically anyway.)
Sorry for the double post. I just wanted to show off my new "Ava'tard".
[quote:3b431df1d8="shigamado"]Sorry for the double post. I just wanted to show off my new "Ava'tard".
rofl-coptor! everytime i now see your 'avatard' the first thing that will come to mind- DUUHHRR!!! *give or take a few u's n h's lol*
