" Hi mom! "

I lol'd. The only thing that could've made it funnier was Bernie replying " Hi sweetie! ".

Is it just me or did they change the design of the truck the group came here in from Sonic 198 (first panel)? Either that or Rotor decided to pimp his ride after making the radio link ...

Yeah, the jeep looks different. The artists don't usually get to see each others works, so that's why they're different. Likewise, the Egg Phoenix had two different designs as well.

Anyway, I really like Tracy's work in this issue, very good looking. I especially like Herms' colors, I really hope he becomes the regular colorist soon. I honestly don't blame Lien-Da for being cautious about Snively and Regina's plan, I would be too. Sounds like for the most part the plan is to help Robotnik until a certain point, and then leave him to deal with all the resistance. I might be wrong though, we'll see. Either way, I believe this is the issue where Regina F.'s identity is revealed, so I'm looking forward to that. This issue looks like it's going to be a fairly big last stop before #200.

Looks like Eggman intends on taking on Sonic in yet another 1 on 1. Obsessed much?

I do hope Sonic takes him rather then it being a team effort. Sonic owes him one after 175. The Freedom Fighters (especially Tails) did a lot last issue. GUN / Team Dark got a nod in Sonic Universe. The Chaotix will probably have their turn to do the same this issue facing off against their old enemies. Thinking like that I wouldn't feel too bad if Sonic got the final blow with a little divine intervention from Snively and his Lady Friend to seal the deal.

I believe this is the issue where Regina F.'s identity is revealed

About Regina ... the possible (and most likely) identity Regina is getting a nod for the April Fools Day joke over at Bumbleking. Sally's name filters to " Iron Queen " if you last minute speculators want to make anything of it.

...man I'm hoping in the time he's out of power, he'll regain his sanity or something.

I'm so out of the loop, but did that say 'Julie-Su: Dark Legionnaire" I mean I know she way a member, but I guess I kinda figured her as a Chaotix.

Or maybe it's 2:20am and I'm tired thus thinking too hard about this.

I've been saying it for a while, and until it's revealed in the book, I'm sticking to it, but I think RF is the Iron Queen.

She still is a member of the Chaotix. Looking at the text preview, I'm guessing that's supposed to be a nod at her past to reference the fact that she was one of them, and that she is related to them. The text preview does mention "family confronts family", and she is closely related to Lien-Da, and Dimitri is her Great Grandfather (with a couple more greats thrown on there).

Might just be running out of taglines. Look at poor Snively. He went from being " Scheming Nephew " to just " Nephew ". Next he'll be " Sniveling Lackey " or something.

How adorable, I scanned the crowd for Bernie XD
As always the artwork is great. The script made me feel nostalgic and reminiscent of old times when a good fight was another day at work and taking down old Robuttsky was all that mattered. I wanna read more!

Sally, the Iron Queen? Interesting, most interesting. *twitch and heads to Ian's forum*

Just got the issue today. It was really good.

Speaking of issue #50, that whole arc just had an epicness to it that this one seems to be missing. Oh, this arc is enjoyable to read, of course, and there is a build-up to something big about to happen, but it just feels, well, not as tense as a final battle should be. Even the Freedom Fighters comment on this.

At the same time, it does give you the feeling that things are going a bit too well for the FF here, and something awful will come out of nowhere for them once Snively, Regina, and the DEL make their move. But the way to that just lacks... something.

Mindless rambling aside, it was a solid issue with great character interaction and great artwork.

Argh. I'd just wish that Vector & Julie-su would come forward and admit their feelings. I could tell they were giving flirting a bit briefly when they both saved each other. I don't know. I mean, this sort of back & forth conflict has been going on for more than ten years. Sheesh. I dunno, only my opinion.

Wow, I was sad thinking I would be in China and my issue still in the mail. So glad it arrived today!

Holy cliffhanger, made me yell "WHAT WHY!!! NOOOOO!" The issue gave me a nostalgic "back-to-basics" story that I've been craving for. The classic too-obvious-it's-a-trap setting was nicely done. The art, the writing, the colors... everything was good. From the little details like jokes about #50, each individual fighting, Snively and his eau-de-stinko to the final boss.

Can't wait for #200!
