Ahh, that's good, monkey khan finally returns, i'd thought he'd never come back. And Steven Butler also returns, which is good too. Tracy Yardley's drawing of Khan is awesome. The coloring for Sonic universe is very unique. I'd like to see what is going to happen within mobius: 30 years later. Something to look forward to.

It looks like the Eggman Empire will remain after #200. It also looks like the 30 years later reality is where Silver came from, this might get me to buy the series.

Hmm, the only question I have is, who part of this betrayal? and Who is the returing character in 30yrs later?

I love whoever's coloring these covers. They look great.

Silver is hilarious ...

Take 1

Silver: *appears* The future is in danger!

Rob: I'm pretty sure it isn't.

Silver: Oh ... false alarm. *dissapears*

Take 2

Silver: *appears* The future is in danger!

King Sonic: *fighting* I kind of know this!

Silver: Oh ... erm ... want the winning lottery numbers?

Edit: "A Lonely Girl's Story" makes me think of a certain Sonic villainess who seemed to have an air of sadness around her elsewhere ... Why do flower's bloom knowing they are destined to wither? Their time of beauty is so short lived

oh yeaaaaaahhhh, it's been over 100 issues since khan's last appearance (well, if you count issue #125, briefly along with any other character that was in that issue).

I'll be interested in seeing how Khan is handled when we have the possibility of someone with a sense of restraint writing him, rather than just Frank Strom trying to make his pet monkey outshine the hero at every turn.

Yeah. In all seriousness, I love the Journey to the West legend/mythology and the Monkey King is my favorite fictional character, period. That being said I think that Sonic has alot of Monkey-King qualities in himself: both attitude and charm, super powers, an adventuresome and fun-loving nature...He even squashes his negative traits down so that he can do heroic things. The biggest differences I can think of are that the Monkey King has alot more cynical outlook on things and Sonic's mischeif's never gone as far as destroying the heavens or what not. Having both the Monkey King and Sonic is kind of redundant.

But, I'm going to enjoy having Monkey Khan back anyway. I love it when obscure characters pop up again. I'm still waiting to find out if Horizont-Al and Verti-Cal ever made up and stopped their war.

The backup story for #202 sounds interesting. Like other people, I have been wondering who Regina is; if she is the Iron Queen, a trick by the Freedom Fighters, or a new character. I lean towards thinking it is the first or last of these possiblities. The preview has me thinking that it could be Hope, though it would be kind of sick for her to trick her uncle the way she has, and I don't think Archie would go there.

I do have some conerns about M30YL, the "first to fall" quote. I do hope things turn out all right in the end.

Monkey Kahn returns *tries to contain excitement...*

Well hopefully he'll be written competently. Is it just me or does the cover for 202 look...off or something?

It looks really vibrant ... probably because the lines were recolored from black. Makes a big difference.

Whatever they've done, I like it. Between this and the cover to Sonic Universe #4, they seem to be trying out some new cover designs, and they're all looking pretty fab so far.
