BWWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

HA-HA! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....
...heh.
Possible Villian Returns...
I don't think It'll be Mammoth Mogul.
Stuck in a void? You don't think it could be Ixis Nagus, do you?
As for who the traitor is I still stand by my assumption that it's Muttski.
I hope that Sally's not the one that will betray Sonic. I can't wait to see Lien-Da's new look.
Sally: This would make the most sense. 219 features the king in a possibly villainous role. 3 straight arcs have been about B list freedom fighter teams with a history with the family of a recurring character, and this could be another with the royal family and secret service. Ian's also used family as the motivation for Sonic vs. plots quite often. The main reason I would say Sally is that there are strong meta reasons not to have the others do it.

These covers suggest it will not be Sally however.
Geoffrey: He's the obvious traitor by the same logic as Sally. But he would not be even remotely a surprise. He would be the most anti climactic traitor reveal ever.
Bunnie: She was just in 3 arcs that involved: pretending to betray, mind control, and family. She battled Sonic in 2 of them. It would be repetitive.
Tails: Same reasons. His 2 arcs were way back near the beginning of Ian's tenure, but not that far in comic time.
Rotor: He was just accused by Silver for utterly silly reasons. It would be weird if it was him.
Antoine: LOL. He's also with Sonic in that cover.
Amy: More LOL.
The covers suggest it will have to be Tails. A plot involving the royal family would bring up his original motivation. Cover with both Sally and Antoine in a generic anniversary pose but no Tails is a huge hint.
Apparently the #225 cover is just a segement of a larger picture, though. (Whether that means there's a larger cover to come or it connects to the #226 cover, we're not sure.)
I hope that the traitor, whoever it is, actually is a traitor, and not someone who's forced into acting badly because of external forces (etc. Antonie siding with Robotnik to save Bunnie's life.) We've seen that way too many times.

It wouldn't be a cover worthy traitor unless it was a FF, Chaotix, or relative. Or Cream.
I hope it is not Sally, I don't want to see one of my favorite characters go bad and have her reputation hurt even more than it is. One reason I think it would not make sense for it to be Sally is that she seems to have been working so hard to repair friendships lately. If she has to chose between her family and her friends again, I hope she stands up to her father and choses her friends.
Whoever, it is I do hope it is a misunderstand or they were basically forced into it. I don't care if it has been done before or if it would be lame; I just don't want to see the Freedom Fighters family broken up for good.
So status quo as usual is your preference?
I've love to see the FFs broken into factions for a while. It could add some much needed competitive dynamic to the meta/background and the stories in general. Ian kind of missed his chance by (being basically forced to, iirc) ending the Republic/Monarchy dispute from before. A "War of the Roses" or "Revolution of 1688" style overarching story, or even something as simple as other regions wanting to secede from the Kingdom/Republic, would be a fascinating catalyst for better establishing the beliefs and thought processes of the cast, but also for reinforcing that they aren't just Sonic's hangers' on.
We all know that in comics the Status Quo is King (God knows DC and Marvel have gone to ridiculous lengths to make sure nothing ever really changes over the years); that's no reason to religiously adhere to it over the short term, imho.
