Yup, still impressed. The flow is natural, the characters don't just recite lines - they know each other, they respond to what they see and know rather than just spit out dialogue.
The implications! What do they mean!!! Also... who's the monkey? *is still really far behind*
Monkey Khan? Dude's been around since issue #55. Never showed up all that much, but he was kind of the guest star of the last major arc.
Like I said... Really far behind.
Coloring looks pretty darn good, can't wait to read it.
Like I said... Really far behind.
Geezers, Ramza, what's the last comic you actually read?
Issue... 24? But I'm still informed of really basic things. Like Knuckles' *spoilers*.
I'm looking forward to the scene with Sally's mother, Alicia. We haven't seen a whole lot of parenting from her. Maybe she has dating tips? I wonder how Ian will play off a date. Also looking forward to hearing what Khan has to say. Those first pages reminded me of Dan Drazen's "Capture The Flag" stories. It's nice to see Sonic and Tails hanging out and "goofing off" as he puts it. Looks like another good issue.
I'm still waiting for my copy of SU #25, even though it's been out for a while, so I might pick this one up at Borders and read it there 😛
I think this is gonna be something to look forward to - Sal and Khan's relationship is interesting from what little I read here and there...it's going to make fun reading to see how Khan eventually feels about the whole thing in the end. 😛
Really loving the flow of this issue so far. It's nice to see the characters interacting in a normal environment. Plus, it's always great to see Steven Butler!
This was a cute issue. But I feel bad for Nicole. Some people want her to be shutdown.
The backup story where Knuckles talks to Dimitri was great. I feel so bad for Dimitri. He really made a mess, and bad choices in his life.
I give this issue a 10/10.
@Darkfox: Care to give a summary since BumbleKing is down?
I still haven't gotten my subscription for SU #25 and don't foresee getting this one until a month later.
Well, since I have free time:
The short version is, Sonic and Sally went on a date and Mina and Ash were also in the same restaurant they went to. Some of the customers and waiters brought up the uproar on last issue and started debating about what would be the right action to handle to situation (this makes Mina storm off, somewhat displeased that her concert lead this to happen). Sonic and Sally kinda ignore it and just finish their meal. They all start following them outside, when Amy shows up to stop and hold off the skirmish so that Sonic and Sally can finish their date. The two stop by the lake of rings and have a lovey-dovey moment which ends the scene ... with Geoffrey spying on them, not too thrilled about it either -- he goes back to Naugus, who I presume is still hiding in New Mobotopolis, or close to the city (it's kinda drawn ambiguously) and tells Geof. that his plan will start tomorrow. Oh, and Queen Alicia and Uncle Chuck console Sally and Sonic respectively as they were about to go on their date.
The back up is just Dimitri telling Knuckles to forgive them for what he has done and that he regrets everything he has done since his betrayal with his brother. Knuckles tells him, "yeah sure, BUT YOU BETTER FOLLOW ME TO WHAT'S LEFT OF HEAVEN AND START RIGHTING YOU WRONGS NOW!"
Off Panel is Amy, Tails, and Big dressing as agent body guard, complete with black suits and sunglasses, protecting Sonic and Sally on their walk during a date.
Oh GOD, why is there and LNR reference in this issue!? I blame Dub! He did the frotis-piece for this issue. Also, Sonic-Grams mentions that Al and Cal would be coming back soon. There is a "You're too slow!" reference and an Antoine margarine joke too.
The issue was kinda ehh, but if you enjoy the Sonic and Sally relationship, then you might enjoy it.
Hmmm, was thinking about picking it up but since nothing of great importance happens, perhaps not. Thanks for the psuedo review!
I wonder if Geoff was mad that Sally was back with Sonic or if it just reminded him that he couldn't have Hershey with him for some as of now unknown reason.
ChaoRcute: Thanks for the scoop on the goods
So Amy held off the crowd so that Sonic could go on about his date with... Interesting concept. Somehow, Sally's message got through to Mina and it seems she's feeling sorry for what happened at the concert. Wonder what will happen if they ever find out that Naugus was actually behind the crowd rile up.
O.o @ LNR Reference.
This was an alright issue but not a whole lot actually happened, I enjoyed the Sonic/Sally stuff and Naugus is always great. I enjoyed the backup much more, even if I still dislike Dimitri's new look, I just always enjoy the nefarious echidna.
