Over at his message board Ian linked to an interview he and others did that not only reveals the a lettered preview for Sonic Universe's first issue but also has an some new info about the book. Here is the link.

IAN FLYNN: I already let slip that E-123 Omega will be making his debut, didn't I? We'll be having a number of characters who've only shown up once returning; namely Blaze the Cat, Marine the Raccoon and Silver the Hedgehog. And we can't very well have Team Dark without the G.U.N. Commander leading the charge, now can we?
So we now have a confirmation that G.U.N. Commander from the games will also be in the book enjoy.

I enjoyed reading the interview though, a nice sneak at things for SU and archie Sonic in general. I liked hearing about Finitevus too.
i'm definitely looking forward to this. i'm a big supporter of the supporting cast being explored more, particularly knuckles. don't think i ever got over his series ending. i'm also curious what these "secret" projects that ian shouldn't be hinting at are also
