Sonic X issue 15's cover just made my day, and I'm sure going back and looking at it will cheer me up for a long time to come. But who's this Todd Wahnish guy? I knew this issue would have a surprise penciller, but I assumed it would be someone the fandom knew. Ah well, both issues sound great to me.
And it also sounds like Ian's ready to finally wrap up this whole dumb Anonymous thing, bless his soul. Sounds like a good read as well.
So he's Dr. Robotnik again, is he? Hmmm. . . or have I just been in a cave for a long time? Hasn't he been Eggman for a long time now?
Robotnik and Eggman are the same person.
Wahnish is mostly known for animation stuff, I think commercials, music video, shorts and series. Does a comic called Kee-Fu Fighters, though.
the STH issue looks amazingg. its a wonderful feelihng to be excited about Sonic again now that Ian is on board.
Heh, a Bark plushie and a Storm action figure. Cute.
Also - Espio Espio Espio yay!
i heard about the cover to the new STH awhile back, but it looks absolutely horrible. no seriously, tracy's got to stick to the penciling only.
the issue itself sounds great though.
KING BOOM BOOOOOOO! I love that dude. Ahaha.
Yeah, nuts to Anonymous - King Boom Boo's where it's at!
I wonder if the back-up story in STH has anything to do with Valdez, epsecially since the preview mentioned Espio specifically?
SonicX #15 = One of the best covers ever! All of Spaz's Sonic X covers rule. But this cover tops them all. That's my Christmas wallpaper right there.
I love the Samba De Amigo doll.
The Chaotix side story sounds cool.
Th only problem is that the newstand copy (of SonicX #15)hits AFTER Christmas. The direct to comic stores is two weeks earlier so it won't affect me.

I'm sorry it doesn't suit your taste, but I only DID do the penciling on that cover. If you don't like it, take it up with Jim Amash and Jason Jensen. If you look, you'll see their signatures on the cover as well.
Tracy Yardley!
i don't mean to offend you, but i just don't like the cover. you're pencilling in the comic is good though. i'm just more of a spaz fan is all.
It's fantastic, Tracy. Kudos!

I dunno, I think this is certainly an improvement over, say, the cover for #160. Also, it's a bit of a breath of fresh air to have a cover in someone else's style.
What, no Super/Hyper Knuckles?
Seen a lot of I prefer the SX covers to the StH online for awhile even when Spaziante is doing both. Personally, I find a diff set of hands on StHs fronts to be refreshing. Spazs SX material is probably the most entertaining and adventurous covers youll find on the comics rack, you can tell he clearly enjoys them...
In the SX cover previews, by the by, we usually see whatll actually go to print. I dont think the cover for StH169 is final or if it is, it shouldnt be. Tropical island at dusk really isnt a color scheme designed for oomph, and its kinda killing the characters momentum there.

Hey, I liked 160s. =P Out of the Blue. It had that sorta a change is acomin feel to it, ya know? Simple. Clean. Effective.
but how do you defeat an enemy so evil that they don't even have an identity!
Forget super forms, they just need McAfee VirusScan.
i wonder if sonic X #14 will feature ghost-possessed amy? she was downright creepy in the cartoon.
The Cover for #169 really makes me think Fleetway for some reason. I can't even pin down why being as I didn't read the series until it was relaunched online, but...I can't shake that feeling. I had a similar feeling when I saw the Tracey Yardley cover with Sonic and Tails looking aghats at the testtubes.
that's probably because the super sonic in the pictures looks like the evil super sonic (minus the swirly eyes) from fleetway.
So does anyone know if Tracey is going to be doing covers on a regular basis? That doesn't sound like a good idea to me if he's going tbe doing that and the content art. That'll just increase the pressure put on him to finish the scenes on time and make it more likely for the overall quality to decrease.
I don't see why - most comic artists in the US do the covers and the interiors of their comics, and they have more pages to draw as well (as there's no back-up strips).
"Forget super forms, they just need McAfee VirusScan."
Well said.
And I hope everybody understand that "penultimate" means "NEXT TO THE LAST" and not "really butt-kickin'."
Say to hype!
And I hope everybody understand that "penultimate" means "NEXT TO THE LAST" and not "really butt-kickin'."
Yeah, but personally, as an STC fan, I'm genetically hardwired to think "hey, Super Sonic is in it, it must be really butt-kickin'!".
Oh, good heavens! As butt kicking as issue 126? =p
It irritates me that Archie doesn't use Super Sonic often enough. Or, in fact, ever. I don't remember the last time Super Sonic made a real appearance (and I'm not counting issue 126 as a bona fide Super Sonic appearance). Not since SA, right? That's a VERY long time ago.
As butt kicking as issue 126? =p
Never claimed my genetic hardwiring was accurate.
I'm holding out hope that it's closer to his first appearance.
Super Sonic VS Universalmander, Round 2: Lizards On A Plane!
You know whatever did happened to Universalamander? I remember him being shrunk and that was it. We didn't see him again after that. Wonder if Ian would bring him back?
Btw I hope Turbo Tails isn't wearing that cape on the story. Always hated that thing and thought it was useless since Tails does change color like the rest in the S3&K game.
*looks at the cover* Seems to me, he's wearing the cape.
I wonder if we're gonna end up going back to red Turbo Tails. The Turbo in the 90-something issues just looked like Tails pretending to be a superhero (and not even Captain Fox-Man)
*looks at cover* Does'nt look red to me. XD
It could just be a colouring mistake on the cover, though, or just an early draft. And it doesn't mean the actual comic art won't have a red Turbo Tails.
169 sounds like the second coming of 56...just a different super charged hero this time...maybe Hyper Knux will get a sneak appearance...
Man these super powered forms get old...
how can they get old if they are never used?
I emailed Ian and he said 'there was no room to fit Super/Hyper Knux into the story. Why? You'll have to wait and see!"
Quote:

Ummm, Super Sonic, Turbo Tails and Super Shadow have all shown up far too many times for my liking.
Super Sonic- Issue 4, Super Sonic vs Hyper Knuckles, issue 56, Sonic adventure story, Tossed in Space.
Super/Hyper Knuckles- Super Sonic vs Hyper Knuckles, issue 56, issue 141
Turbo Tails- Issue 56, Clash of the Titans, issue 114
Super Shadow- issue 124
OH NOES so many times!
Last appearance of the real Super Sonic: #84
Next known appearance: #169
Which means that if you split the comic's run in half, then for the entire latter half we never got a single real Super Sonic appearance.
Super Sonic hasn't appeared practically ever. I'm thinking it's about time.
I'll tolerate his appearance if he doesn't show up again for another 100 issues...I wish this cheap plot point would stop being used...
they are fighting an enemy that literally can't be fought against. that's a plot they haven't done before so how can you say it's cheap?
Stupid idea but how about this for a "cheap" solution to a "cheap" problem? They use their powers to virtualize their bodies and face off against ADAM on his own digital plain ala Tron? That or they waste their powers like Gordon Freeman wasted his college education in Half-Life to flip switches and just unplug ADAM from the wall socket? Like I said, stupid, so I'm really hoping to hear from others with possibly better ideas.
The characters have no idea who or what Anonymous is -- and right now they're probably assuming that he has a phsyical form like every single villian they've encountered before.
I think it would be really cool to have Anonymous terrorizing them and then Sonic and friends decide the only way they can win is by going Super...So they fly off to Anonymous' secret hiding place only to find a computer plugged into the wall. Wouldn't that be a fun anti-climax. "THIS is what's been causing us all this trouble?" Sonic de-superfys and turns to Tails. "Delete him, ex-buddy of mine."
Looks like there starting to go the way of the fleetway covers! I dont mind actually I like some of fleetways covers.the storys sound interesting too.
