Sorry, but with my job and getting the Nintendo Wii and all, I just haven't had time to write a decent review. Plus, considering how eak these last two issues have been, I'm just not up to it. So instead, I'll give you the basic facts version.
Chris and Cream hide from thier possesed mothers. Who, all of the sudden turn away and walk towards the tennis court.
As Cream and Chris leave the house, they figure out and find the King Boom Boo's totem. But not before Cheese gets possesed.
Sonic and Tails are in prison with Eggman. Eggman seems to be enjoying repairing appliances. Tails even wants to help him but Sonic wants no part of it. This scene really goes nowhere and the only funny bit is Eggman's line "I should've been locked up long ago!" Plus, Sonic and Tails prison garbs look like dresses.
Chris contacts his grandpa Chuck. Chuck informs him that Sonic can't help due to him being in prison. So Chris and Cream go up to where King Boom Boo, the ghosts and the possesed people are having a meeting. The ghosts want to posses the world, but Cream plea baragns with them since she has the totem. Boo says if they return the tomtem back to it's spot on ihs island, he'll back to his eternal rest. The island is far away though, so there is no time. Or is there?
Sure enough here comes Sonic and Tails. How did they get out? Chris's rich daddy managed to convince (bribe) the president into dropping the charges. (That's it? WTH?!!) Sonic takes the totem, and runs fast across the ocean (Where's his fear of water?)and plants the totem back. The ghosts all leave. Vanilla now realizes it's important for Cream to have friends like these that will look after her. The end.
Story: Okay, the "Chris and Cream are chased by ghosts" story was mediocre at best. But he really dropped the ball with Sonic and Tails prison story cuz there really was none. First, there in prison, and then they're not.
It might as well have never happened. Having Chris' dad get Sonic out was a real cop out, and left the story feeling flat.
Art: David seems to be doing less better with his work in each issue. He's almost equal to Tim Smith who has been improving. His art from his debuet issue was quite a bit better than we've seen in these past two. It saddens me, cuz I know he's much more talented than this. This just smells of "phoning it in".
Score: 6/10 my least fave issue of the book so far. Just meh.
I hated the end with Sonic showing up Deus Ex Machina style. Definitely the series' weakest issue.
perhaps strangely, these last two issues have really excited me and gotten me really interested in Sonic X.
I did'nt think this one was so bad, but the ending was definatly anticlimatic.
There should have been more Eggman and Sonic scenes, as those were my favorite parts.
I'd say this issue was about average.

Strangely is the right word Care to explain?
I agree that these past two issues haven't exactly been the strongest, but Sonic X still excites me. Maybe it's the heavy AoStH vibe, the humor lurking in the comments/corners of the panels, or possibly the knowledge that nothing truly bad/permanent can happen to any of the main characters. Whatever it is, Sonic X is pure enjoyable
That's exactly the way I feel, Pundit. There's no melodramatic junk, which plagues the other comic to the point that it's rideculous. Eggman is characterized brilliantly, with major AoStH Buttnik vibes all around. The comic knows that it's a silly comic, and does'nt try to take itself seriously for one minute.
And best of all, they're just stories you can pick up and read, without having to know years of continuity. I quite enjoy them, and hope they have a long life ahead of them.
I guees something must be wrong with me. Everyone is giving this series alot of praise, but I just can't get into it that much. The comic may take place in the same world, but the T.V. and the comic are completely different. It just doesn't have the same appeal. I mean how can I get into a story that invloves a pissed off ghost, that's mad at the world because of the loud obnoxious noises that a tennis ball makes when it hits pavement?
How do I put it... the series certainly doesn't take itself seriously. As WW put it, that's a breath of fresh air compared to the other comic. It's true that drama is nice and entertaining and serious, but we can't live without comedy either, and that's the kind of role that Sonic X has. Comedy, in my opinion, derives much of its power from the way it twists thing that we know to be uncomfortably true. If there were such things as ghosts, wouldn't it make sense, in some incredibly warped way, for them to be angry at the world because they were trapped underneath a tennis court? The premise might be fundamentally ridiculous, but it is uncomfortably "correct". It appeals to some kind of childish logic within us, kind of the same way people find Stephen King's novels to be terrifying.
I understand, but the whole not taking itself seroius thing kinda ruins it for me. The show could be childish at times, but it was (almost) always seroius about itself. After watching the show , and reading the comic with the same name, I kinda expect the comic to you know, be more like the show. That was the reason why I dilike most of the earlier Sonic the Hedgehog comics. It tried to blend two shows together, but was really based off of one!
Every time I hear about the Sonic X stories and see the covers, I have this massive urge to go out and buy one - which I can't because it's not on sale over here, but I want to nonetheless.
The constant pop culture and breaking of the fourth wall grates on me, too (at least the anime tended to ignore the former and be sparing with the latter). It's hard to immerse myself in a story and its characters when I'm constantly being reminded of the artificalness of the whole thing.
