I'm not sure how it is in your neighborhood, but around where I live, the original Sonic comic (the SatAM one, or course) is being completely replaced by the new Sonic X book on newsshelves and magazine racks...

I remember going to Giant Eagle (a supermarket) once in a while and going through the magazine rack, which had one of those spinny-racks for comics (y'know the white ones with pics of Archie, Spider-Man, and Richie Rich. Those things are everywhere :D ). Sonic The Hedgehog would be at the bottom. I wasn't buying them at the time (I must've been feeling 'Purist' or something stupid like that), so it didn't matter to me much.

As time when by, Sonic X started to appear just above Sonic on the rack, in the same store. Again, I didn't care much. More time passed, and the SatAM book completely dissapeared, Sonic X in it's place. This is when I started getting interested. At first, I thought the SatAM Sonic book was cancelled, and replaced by a new title. Good thing I was wrong...

I looked everywhere around in places that sell comics, even placed 20 miles away, and the only thing I found Sonic-wise was Sonic X. The only place to find it now is online (please check out my off-topic question). Now that I want to get into the comics again, I'm very concerned: why has the original book dissapeared from the shelves?

Is it because the original book wasn't selling well enough, and everyone is trying out Sonic X? Maybe it's ignorance; perhaps they think Sonic X is a sequel or extention to Sonic The Hedgehog (like Ultimate X-Men is to its original). Perhaps I acted too late to buy off the shelves... Is this happening in your area, as well? Have any opinions? Please reply; I'd like your feedback.

PS: sorry if this kind of talk isn't allowed in this forum. I'm kinda new. :nn;

Off-topic: Has anyone tried buying stuff at the online store at archiecomics.com? If so, did you get what your ordered, and was your info secure? (I made a subscription to Sonic there. This is my first online purchase ever. I'm a little nervious...online shopping can be so dangerous to your credit. :( )

Personally, I have not seen StH disappearing in favor of SX. In Rhode Island and nearby Massachussets, the two books coexist peacefully.

Also, ordering from Archie (for me) has always been smooth and speedy, but I've heard others complain.

Good to hear, Amoeba. At least I know this isn't a nation-wide trend now. It's a shame that I, personally, can only get StH over the Internet. Any other opinions?

Well, you could subscribe via mail-order, or try to find a Comic Shop near you. If you can do the latter, then they'll probably have it, but if not then the folks who work there can probably special order it just for you.

I prefer subscription, myself.

Personally, I would prefer mail-order, but I was so angry that I couldn't find an issue of StH anywhere, I automatically ordered a subscription on their site. It was a spir-of-the-moment thing. Y'know, out of frustration. I'm hopeful that it will work.

I'm complaining about mail orders. When I ordered them, they always came one month late. I complained, but they said they couldn't do anything about it, so I just started buying them from the stores where they were more expensive and came later:"> . Last time I subscribe.

The place where I buy comics stopped selling the StH title in favor of Sonic X. Not that it bothers me, I stopped reading the title a while back when I found I enjoy the Sonic X comic's lack of being anthing like the other book.

I still see both StH and Sonic X comics at my local bookstores.

Lawls.

StH is ruling my city, beating Sonic X by a large margin.

If your local store dropped StH and is just publishing Sonic X, it's probably because Sonic X is outselling StH there and they're deciding it's a safer sell.

My book stores and comic book store have em both, although the StH books do seem to move a lot quicker.

*sigh* I guess so. I'm not even that much of a SX fan. Don't get me wrong, SX is okay, but I believe it's more suited for a younger audience. I did read #11, though: I loved the Sonic 1 game references.

Sonic X is now sold in France. Issues #1 and 2 have been reunited in a sole album for a "generous" cost (8 ).

The translation is pitiful.

As I'm scanslating StH issues, I'd say "Do it yourself".
