Hmm, so the Council is just about as effective as the monarchy was. Not that surprising, but I'm shocked Knuckles agrees with them.
What, you were able to read all that after Photobucket's auto-resizing? Amazing.
I like how even with the crapped out city and the reconstruction needed, Eggy still has the time to send a random, lone Metal Sonic over to Freedom HQ.
We should have all placed bets on how long it'd be until Sonic clashed with the Council over a decision they made. Yep, that lasted...
It's like Mobotropolis is cursed to have an ineffective form of government.
Any bets on how long it'll take for anarchy to set in?
At least Rotor and Chuck voted aganist waiting to take back the HQ. I can understand both sides of this, why Sonic wants to take it back now and why most of the counsel voted to focus on Eggman for now. They probably shouldn't wait too long to take the HQ back though. Scourge is a threat and he probably will not be satisfied with having control of just the HQ. I just hope Sonic doesn't get in too much trouble with the counsel; break the pattern in the comic The only time I remember Sonic getting off easy when he disobeyed the authorites is when Max let him off easy when Sonic and the Freedom Fighters went out into space without permission, that is the only .
It's like Mobotropolis is cursed to have an ineffective form of government.
I can see both sides, too - and it doesn't seem that ineffective. The antis're penned up in Freedom HQ for the moment - for all it's somewhere teched out enough for them to plot in, focusing on taking back one single building when there's an entire city of Mobians to keep safe from a mad dictator's not an easy choice, no matter how symbolic the building is. Note that it's only those with a sentimental attachment to the FFs who're against the ruling.
As ever, Sonic's all for freedom of choice as long as it's the freedom for people to do what he wants them to do. He just doesn't like any form of authority telling him something he disagrees with, whether it's a council, a monarchy or anything else.

I know its funny...I wonder if he just orders em out of a catalog nowdays? lol but I still really want to find out who the newcomer is!? i mean its obvious its not metal sonic & we already know about metal scourge? so how can it be a suprise newcomer if you know about it?.....Man my head hurts. on the bright side its only 5 days till 191 YAY!!!
so how can it be a suprise newcomer if you know about it?
The same way we all knew the newcomer in issue #180 was Marine.

OH.....I guess your right.
But Still Im scepticle....Who knows mabye it'll be the Anti-omega on the cover of 193 or Kintobor from scourges world....oh well I can Dream darn it. (Or mabye it'll be Chun-li LOL!)
I wonder what the other FFs are doing? We haven't heard from Robotnik (other than the lone gunman Metal) and it seems the DL have something up their sleeves or should I say Scorpion King Dimitry has something up his claws. Still, to me it seems like regaining Freedom HQ asap is valid and they do need to send King Scourge packing soon as well before he starts trying to conquer Mobius as well.
Btw, I don't think I've mentioned this but I like how Yardley! draws Scourge. Really gives him an edge even more so than Sonic.
I'm eager to find out who this newcomer is.
Forgot to mention how much I like Eggman talking through Metal Sonic. I never found Metal that interesting of a character anyway, so the fact that he no longer talks for himself does'nt bother me.
Silveerwing? Silveerblossom? Silveerbolt?
I'm digging the fact that some of the Substitute Freedom Fighters are part of the council - that better count for something other than just a drawn-in cameo. Or maybe that's just wishful thinking.
I kinda wish Arlo was on the Acorn Council, it feels a bit odd having only three of the four original substitute FFs there.
But at least now we know who's on the council. Am kinda surprised by the results.
... We found out who was on the council in issue #180. Just about ten issues ago.
Since we're dealing with other dimensions, could the newcomer be....Blaze?
She's already been in the comic, so no matter how freaking awesome that would be, she really can't be the newcomer. =<
That would be awesome indeed. Metal and Scourge about to kill Sonic, and then a wall of fire appear between them, with Blaze saying "I need the blue hedgehog alive."
But one can dream.

i much prefer eggman/metal sonic to the uninteresting one from GBU, i still liked that artificial intelligence one. although ian said he isn't going to be used (atleast on his run of the comic)
Man, I wish they would let Metal Sonic speak his mind. I liked his cold, mettalic voice he had in 146-149.
I don't like how Eggman just fit Metal Sonic with a speaker box from Jack in the Box.
Oh well. At least he's back!
But he was so boring when he "spoke his mind".
But he was so boring when he "spoke his mind".
No he wasn't I liked it when metal spoke his. mind & what are you people talking about eggman talking through metal...he lookl like he's talking by hinlself to me...oh well.. only 3 days till 191 yay!
in one of the pages, scourge acknowledges that robotnik is speaking through him.
As does Sonic.
... We found out who was on the council in issue #180. Just about ten issues ago.
I didn't actually recall that.
To be honest, Metal was much more menacing when it was mute. Its character design pretty much speaks for itself... it's a soul-less Sonic butt-kicking machine, a Hedgehog Terminator if you will. It doesn't need to convey any thoughts or feelings in words, we already know why it exists and what it is programmed to do. Nothing else matters.
And it absolutely WILL NOT STOP... until Sonic is beaten.
DA DUM DA DUM DA DUM...
DA DUM DA DUM DA DUM...
DA DUM DA DUM DA DUM...
DA DUM DA DUM DA DUM...
... er, sorry.
WHERE IS SARAH CONNOR?
Coming this fall to FOX !!

Yea, pretty much the third page, they show the entire council when Sally is confronting them about Enerjak.
they weren't much use then either. what's with the monarchy being no use and the new "council" democracy thing also being no use?
So that there is conflict to Sonic's arrogant, brash attitude.
Yea, the reasons are blue, super fast and doesn't give a darn about leadership (I'm sure Sam touched on it earlier)...
Edit: Screw Toby and his superior posting skills for beating me to it.
Tony sure is fast!~
well i guess i'm over analyzing it. but they would've surely been wiped out by enerjak, like, it wouldn't have taken him even two seconds. so while they argue logistics of the situation. they die.
*not sure what's up with my font, but i don't really care, i feel fancy.
Yet again, what's got me about this section of the story was the use of contrast between Sonic and Scourge, who both act in exactly the same way: haring in on their own to deal with something both their respective entourages can see is a bit much for even them to solo.
I was reminded when watching Miles and Scourge's interplay during the fight of Sonic's "I've got this!" rant at Tails in #176. That's something I very much like about the way that Scourge is being written at the moment: he's not just a cookie cutter "evil twin" with generic sadistic tendencies - he's recognisably a darker mirror image of Sonic's personality, and it really shows when you see them together.
