no, i'm not going back to the disscussion topic to make the spoilers. it's easier this way because it blatantly says spoilers across the topic head.

the issue starts out with tails and rotor noticing that two star posts have "magically" turned on. (save points from the game btw) rotor mentions that they are only supposed to cross dimensions into the special zone. Boomer comes in from the portal and blasts the two, (and just so you know, most of the names to the antis come up like this. with the prime version saying "Anti-[insert name here]!" ) Anti-tails makes his entrance next. now known as miles.
Princess alicia makes sure that her "highness" knows that the area is secure while patch follows suit. the scene changes from FFHQ to new megaopolis where sonic and the chaotix are taking on the new dark egg legion and their commander lien-da (known as kommissar again) knuckles goes through a guilt trip about being enerjak, Kommissar yells at snively for the lack of reinforcements, while snively tells her that the dark egg legion IS the only army the empire has right now. She retreats, and the chaotix plant charges to blow up the tower that they were aiming for. (communications tower, without it, Robotnik won't be able to contact half the continent) the brawl continues at FFHQ, with most of the ladies going after patch, sonic gets the transmission to head back as the chaotix reassure him that they'll be fine.
Reinforcements arrive as dimitri pulls a sigma and attaches his head to a new scorpion-like body. with an inspirational speech, the dark legion is once again united to fight the chaotix. sonic arrives at the base just in time for king scourge to make his grand entrance.
No backup story as this story took up every page of the issue.

overall, it was allright, alot of fighting, not a lot of plot development, but it was entertaining.

I got mine yesterday. It was ok. Nothing in particular stood out 'cept Scourge at the very end. I like his design a lot!
Story felt well passed and the fighting was good. So I'm glad they took the whole issue and did no backstory.

Now, does anyone else think Dimitry's body/exoskeleton look similar to the Scorpion King from The Mummy Returns?

What? Dimitri goes Scorpion King...well at least he isn't useless anymore. All he did lately was fly around and cry.

Just picked up my copy today. Was pretty cool, what with the Anti-FF's making a comeback (I'm oldschool like that).

But what I like most about it, is that judging by the cover of the next issue, it'll be one of those cool joined covers. I missed those.

I thought this issue was better then the last one.

There was alot of meaningful action in this comic compared to the "inaction" of the last isssue. Where the dumbfounded Freedom Fighters walked away from the fight with egg on their face.

This comic ended with two main threats showing up, "Scorpion King" Dimitri and "Mobian King" Scourge which set up nicely the events to take place in 190. The art was great and it was interesting to see Megaopolis on par with the distruction in Knothole. It seems that Eggman is at his lowest point right now with the fleet gone and most of the robot factories up in smoke.

The wordless exchange between Knuckles and Lien-da was funny. The whole "please puppy dog look" Knuckles had going on was great. Looking forward to 190!
