Well, the Suppression Squad arc is certainly looking hotter than ever: maybe the return of the Anti-Freedom Fighters won't be so lame after all. I just hope that Archie isn't thinking about pulling another Sonic-Sally breakup between Knuckles and Julie-Su, because if they do I'll get mad! And what's the deal with this "King Scourge" business, anyway? Sounds like a certain evil Hedgehog is getting too big for his running shoes!
I was wondering when someone would post the spoilers for that issue here since I got it in my email on Monday (along with Sonic X #36).
Ah, I think the "King Scourge" is supposed to be accurate with regards to being a new title for him from what I've read either some place here or Bumbleking. I'll believe Knux/Julie have problems when I hear it from someone who has actually read the issue, not based on blurbs.
The cover is awesome...please have a decent fight scene...
Man, two powerful baddies...looks like Sonic may have to use that emerald--whoops!
well if they do decide to use the eternal cosmic cop-out, then maybe ian'll have scourge and metal sonic use it too.
I wouldn't say Knux and Juile-Sue's relationship is in trouble yet either, judging from this preview. It looks like the Acorn counsel might start to act like the UN, that is politicians for you. Hopfully, they will not hender the Freedom Fighters ablity to fight the anti-Freedom Fighters, Eggman, and all the other villains, too much.
Typically councils (especially ones that have just been formed) will take a while to come to an "emergency" decision. Which would bring some conflict with Sonic for obvious reasons. This could be an ongoing theme with future stories.

Since when has Sonic let that stop him before?
I'm more intrigued on the Julie/Knuckles angle then Sonic vs. Scourge, but hey, anything that could involve some sort of potential character development garners my attention.
They said something about a surprise newcomer. What are the chances of Silver appearing in this comic? They haven't even done a Sonic 2006 tie-in. I stopped buying the comic ages ago because of the way they treat Shadow. Hopefully this issue will be worth buying.
Okay, I'll admit it. I almost squealed when I saw Metal Sonic.
I think that Metal Sonic's return on top of the Anti-Freedom Fighters/Suppression Squad is a bit of overkill. Not to mention that if Scourge, Metal Sonic, and Sonic are all going to be involved in a battle, it's getting a little too close to the Sonic vs. Shadow and Isaac vs. Metal Sonic fight from a dozen or so issues back. I'm looking forward to some more development with Knuckles and Julie-Su, and I do have hopes that their relationship only grows stronger as a result of their recent problems, but Archie has a way of doing the last thing you want them to do in a comic. I for one am not looking forward to Rouge's efforts to steal Knuckles away being made any easier, nor do I want to see another breakup like with Sonic and Sally.
Other than that, this issue sounds like it could be pretty good, though hopefully the DeviantArt pics with different names for the various Anti-Freedom Fighters will be true. The whole Anti- and Evil stuck on the front of a good character's name gets old. As for the newcomer, I'm hoping it turns out to be someone not yet introduced, or otherwise a comics character we haven't seen in a while-but NOT Shadow. This issue is going to have enough Hedgehog in it, which means I also don't want to see Silver debuting, unlikely as that is. Personally, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for my favorite Sonic games robot: E-123 Omega.

True, Sonic is a creature of action. When he sees that something needs to be done, he is eager to get it done, no matter what anyone else says. That is probably what is doing to happen in this issue, Sonic getting impatent with the counsel and going off to do things by himself. It is hard for Sonic to take "no" or "wait" for an answer.
When I found out that the anti-Freedom Fighters were coming back, my first thought was "great, them again" but, judging from the previews, it might turn out not to be so bad.
a dozen or so
Try about four-and-a-half years. Hardly a dozen issues.
Pretty sure the SS will have new names, too. We already have Scourge, Patch, and Boomer confirmed - all we need are Tails and Sally (Miles, maybe? And... something?)
Nut rat.
Okay, so it's been more than a dozen or so issues: sue me for all I care, MattManic.
Don't tempt me
They might use these names for Evil Anti-Tails, it would be Miles and for Evil Anti-Sally! It would be most likely her middle name of Alicia. I'm just maybe making a guess as to what their names could end up being?
That should suffice.
And Anti-Tails shall be known as The One Sin.
Don't you mean "The Chosin One"? *flees*
That Greasers hairdo is certainly a sin. DX
So, Scourge leaves Mobius to go find himself, and try to be his own person ("no more lame evil twin shtick for me" were his exact words when he first got all greenified), and what does he do? Goes back to Anti-Mobius, and the Anti-Freedom Fighters, I mean Supression Squad. Yes. Surely this is different from the Evil Sonic days. This time he's GREEN. Whole new ball game!
Two-Tails Prower - The joker of Scourge's group. Two-Tails, whose real name is Miles, is a wisecracking anti who regularly shoplifts. He prizes his sleek black-handled monkey wrench. He instigates the hostilities between the Primes and the Antis by flirting with Mina, the girlfriend of a Prime.
Okay, so it's been more than a dozen or so issues: sue me for all I care, MattManic.
Expect a visit from my lawyers.
One thing I do hope Ian explains is the reason for name changes - obviously Patch is a better name than Anti-Antoine, but I hope Ian has them acknowledge they're using new names rather than just trying to retcon that they've always gone by those names. (Even just a "boy, I'm so sick of being called Anti-Rotor when I'm clearly the better Rotor! I'm going back to my childhood nickname Boomer.")
Don't you worry - it'll be explained. Not immediately, but it will be before the arc's done.
Maybe Scourge will change his name again and go by "Maurice" now, eh Ian? -shot- XD

I'm hoping though that Scourge does sort of find his answers though. Please don't tell me this arc is going to involve just more fighting and no conclusion on the issue. Stories these days tend to do that.
Time out.
Scourge was on Mobius (Earth)
Scourge leaves
Scourge finds himself on different place-and understands his power.
Scourge comes back-as a king.
Scourge is angry
Scourge is green
Castle of Acorn government dragging (btw awesome Ryuudo pic there Ethan) to deal with it
Umm when did this turn into World Walk Hulk (pre redness)??
Anyone?
(All we need now is the Illuminati-and I'm wondering. is Scourge like in a meta super state? Or did he just get a power up. cause if the former, can't Mogul just suck that energy outta him?)
Never actually thought about Mogul being able to syphon Scourge's energy. I guess he could.
Scourge most likely comes back as a king [of the Anti Mobius] because he went back to the AntiMobius (because he and Fiona were bored) and took over the AntiFreedom Fighters/Suppression Squad, who had taken over Mobotropolis. In one of the Super Specials (the one with the Sabrina and Sonic Underground cross-overs), the AFF were seen lounging around in the throne room of AntiMobotropolis.
Makes sense to me anyways.
is Scourge like in a meta super state? Or did he just get a power up.
Nope, neither. Ian's stated numerous times that Scourge's transformation into Super Sonic was interrupted, so he's just a "normal" hedgehog rather than being a Chaos Scourge-ish type character.
Alright. I'll buy that-maybe since he never did it before, it would take him longer to do, hence the chance for being interrupted.
My question then is that since it was interrupted and he just had some cosmetic changes due to the outlashing of Chaos Energy-can he still go Super. because it seems that pre-Scourge was never a true contender for Sonic, while now, he gives Sonic something to worry about.
Normal he may be, but I still think he got a tad bit augmented. Or maybe he just got skillz.
It says in his data file that Scourge can turn into the golden Super Scourge with seven emeralds.
No, it just says he can become Super. I'm quite sure it doesn't say what color he would become should he become Super.
Huh, you're right but I was sure it said nothing about color; I thought I've even seen questions about what color he would be and there was no conclusive answer, boy was I wrong!
I'm not trying to undermine Toby - he's right. But something to consider is that when we were coming up with Scourge, the notion of a "Super Scourge" was way up in the air. If he'd proven to be unpopular, we might have just written him off. Instead, he's garnered a wonderful amount of attention, so we've used him more. At the time, tho', the description of his Super-form was a placeholder.
SO! If/When we see Super Scourge, he may not be gold. Honestly and truthfully I don't know what we're doing for sure yet.
on scourge's abilities, if i remember right, didn't it take both sonic and shadow to take him down the first time he came by? i know sonic handed his butt to him the second--third? time they fought but still.
also Darkest light: so who's supposed to play the sentry?
Good point HS >> Hrm, someone conflicted with themselves, and then finds themselves all over again and is ready to stomp faces.
OherroShadow (Its scary how close this really is to WWHulk)
It says in his data file that Scourge can turn into the golden Super Scourge with seven emeralds.
Well drat, there goes my theory of him turning red with gold eyes (the reverse of Sonic's super, since Scourge is the reverse colour scheme for Sonic). Shame that would have been an interesting change.
Hm!
Purple superform with black jacket? Super Scourge is the hot topic hog!
yeah, i made the connection to the whole Massive metal sonic army and the omac project (they were happening at basically the same time) STH does seem to rip alot of ideas from marvel and dc. (or atleast they used to)
I got it, psxphile, I was simply whining. I wanted a red superform. And a purple one too now.
