Salutations, my friends!
As you should all be well aware of, Sonic the Hedgehog #164 -- The Darkest Storm: Part 3 -- is soon to be released. It will be an issue full of spoilers, including one or more deaths, as well as the big reveal of who Anonymous actually is.
For some odd reason, the issues of my subscription arrive a week or two later than those of others'. So, I have a great favor to ask of you.
Please, be extra careful about cautioning spoilers!
I'm nearly positive everybody will be excited about who Anonymous ends up to be. But, when you find out, please be courteous enough to keep it within a spoiler tag of the spoiler topic. I really don't want to read anybody asking Ian "so why did you decide to have Anonymous end up to be 'so and so'?" in the Ask Ian topics.
So, in the coming weeks when Anonymous is revealed, I ask that you be extra careful about keeping the spoilers to the spoiler topic. There are a few of us that find the issues more enjoyable to read when we DON'T know what happens.
That's all, folks!
Thanks,
Ethan
P.S.:
Should this be stickied, mods?
I'm nearly positive everybody will be excited about who Anonymous ends up to be.
Speak for yourself, I'm wondering what Anonymous has ever done to make me care about him.
Heh, actually, this just gives me a good reason to remind people of what I call the "Harry Potter Book was about to be released"-rule:
Quote:
Spoilers - Posting recent spoilers (within a month of release) that are not properly coded that users may find offendable will lead to a warning. The second time, a temp ban may occur....
I give it that Harry Potter nickname because it was just standard courtesy to do this stuff until the 6th Harry Potter book came out--then it was formally added to the rules.
Therefore, people should be keeping their spoilers to the #164 topic or use the spoiler tags anyway; and not spoil things about issues with topic headers either.
Many thanks, TR.
spoilers work in Knothole?
Spoilers (Select To Read): when did this happen?
for those who don't know (myself included) could you show us how to get them to work?
Yes, spoilers work in Knothole once Vec switched to using span tags instead of tables in the code (unless someone is using a very old browser that doesn't support span tags).
As for using them:
1) Formatting must be on HTML
2) <spoilers>What you want hidden</spoilers> or <spoiler>What you want hidden</spoiler>
Spoilers (Select To Read): What you want hidden (spoilers)
Spoilers (Select To Read): What you want hidden (spoiler)
Like this:
Spoilers (Select To Read): This.
ED: Or, what TR said.
Spoilers (Select To Read): This was actually pretty helpful!!!
1) Formatting must be on HTML
2) Spoilers (Select To Read): What you want hidden or Spoilers (Select To Read): What you want hidden
Spoilers (Select To Read): spoiler
just giving it a test.
My new fabby comic supply guy got ahold of my ordered comics yesterday, and in that l'il bundle was 162, which I gotta say looks to be interesting for somebody who's more or less just jumped on the archie side of the coin, heh.
Personally, I don't really wanna try to guess...all my prior info was from random spoilers and reviews, so I wanna be pleasently bemused when time comes to read 164, which no doubt will be part of the next delivery set alongside 163 - at least, I hope I'm right to assume so. XD
I'll also be picking up the rest of the series in random order, so shall be waiting to see if anything from the last year comes my way to help with the basic, if patchy, catchup process.
Final storm should be a blast - I'm looking forward to seeing this play out.
I am offended!
Ahah. So <span style="color:black;background-color:black"><font color=white>Spoilers (Select To Read):</font> Spoiler XD <span> is how to do it.
Ummm... It's not working...
that's because you need to make sure formatting is set to html, not plain text or excodes. If you're using quick reply, it defaults to plain text (at least, it does for me).
The Ultimate Shadow says: That's awsome
Bye-bye TUS. This is the last place to spam when you're on final warning.
**kisses your feet** Oh God thank you.
thanks, he's been spamming up robot museum yesterday.
ok, can we make a change to this rule?
whoever doesn't want to know who anonymous is, stay away from the #164 spoiler topic. #164's major point of the story is who anonymous is. so as long as we keep His/her/it's identity a secret and use spoiler tags in other topics.
it just doesn't make sense that we'd have to use spoiler tags in a Spoiler topic.
I only did it on the first page in case someone stumbled into the topic by accident, or had a sudden change of heart.
Since there's a spoiler warning in the topic title, spoiler warnings within the topic really should not be necessary.
In the same ballpark, we should let the "Anonymous theories" topic die, or else change the title to include "spoilers" in the case that it became "Anonymous discussion." That's my opinion, anyway.
Maybe I should stay off of the internet for another week while I wait for my copy of #164 so I don't slip across spoilers... Nah! I'll just be really careful! ^_~;;;
Basically, what Dirk said. If someone decides to go into the actual Sonic #164 topic (the released version) and gets spoiled... that's on them. No one is going to be asking for people to use spoiler tags there.
However, if someone decides to go into Anonoymous theories or elsewhere with spoilers, that's when they're supposed to use the tags.
ok, that makes more sense.
And for the record, shouldn't the title be 'The Darkest Storm?'
I've held off pointing that out for a while, and even if it doesn't actually matter, I just HAD to say it.
Now...you may proceed to blast me over the head with a wet fish, heh heh.
*blasts over their head with a wet fish* enjoy!
