This is for people who know ANY of these characters well.
Princess Sally
Bunny Rabbot
Mina the Mongoose
Hershey the Cat
....Are there any other girls that I'm forgetting to mention?
The topic is: What stops each of these girls from being a Mary-Sue? What are their flaws or faults? Be sure to back up your answers with dialogues or actions from these girls.
Is this a college assignment you're asking us to write for you?
I'm starting to think all of these Mary-Sue/Gary-Stu topics and the "How do you write a three dimensional character" thing under different usernames feels more like market research fact gathering than discussion. What are your thoughts and opinions on these matters?

Craig, you're not very good at warning us when you're getting off-topic.
The only thing in your reply that isn't pointless is:
What are your thoughts and opinions on these matters?
Answer: Obviously, I can't have any thoughts or opinions on these girls if I haven't read the comics.
Like I said, this topic is supposed to be for anyone who knows ANY of these characters well. (Princess Sally, Bunny Rabbot, Mina the Mongoose, Hershey the Cat, ... Are there any other girls that I'm forgetting to mention?)

People use the term Mary-Sue far too casually lately.
When Bunnie is found to be a genetically-engineered rabbit hybrid, alien, and vampire in addition to a cyborg with emotion-based colour-changing eyes, the ability to speak six languages fluently, channel the Chaos force, summon her own Piko-Piko hammer, and perform magic better than Merlin Prower on her first attempt while besting Rotor in the realm of science and Rob in terms of archery, all the while with every male (and some females) finding themselves irresistibly drawn to her unique aura and humbly sweet personality before revealing herself as the long-lost Princess Scarlett Primrose Legolas Hikari Starlight, the last of the mysterious Lagomorphia race from the lost city of Atlanlemuria... maybe then there'd be something to talk about.
Lea just broke-ed my brain. ;__;

No. Seriously stop this. This isn't the first time somebody has asked you for your input on a matter you've just deigned to throw at us (And never very nicely put either) and this isn't the first time you've just brushed them off and been a complete wanker about it. Message boards are for interaction and you are not interacting. Your'e just throwing questions to which you obviously couldn't care less about the answer to. It's beginning to knack me off.
And I don't get annoyed easily so I can't be the only one.
Are YOU a Gary-Stu?

Just making sure the main subject stays clear.

Although I have the sneaking suspicion that you're all the same person (in which case, what "we"?), I'll tell you what makes him think he's going to listen to you: I'M going to make you listen to him. Your posts are very nearly flaming here. Cut it out, now. And don't tell me I'm not being nice, seeing as I already know that - it's my JOB to not be nice.
In short, WE are the moderators here, not you.
As for the girl discussion, it seems like the topic could easily veer too far off into "relationship discussion" territory, which is blatantly against the rules. Not that you've paid much attention to that one, given the other topic...
Oh, drat. I thought Princess Bunnie the Alien Vampire Archer Rabbot-D'Coolette was common knowledge by now.

actually you have something on everyone remember? the actual plot to #200 haha
CONGRATULATIONS HYPERSHADOW!

Your avatar appears to be making them. That'll do.
I don't quite get the obsession with characters' flaws, I guess it is apart of human nature.
Hey, let's face it: all characters have their flaws. I find it rather sexist that someone would just ask what the flaws of the girls are and not the guys, but I can understand the interest. Personally, I think I speak for most fans when I say I prefer not to point them out, especially since anything I could say on the subject would likely come under fire by other fans. After all, what I regard as a flaw may be a virtue to someone else. Let's just leave the opinions-at least on this particular issue-unspoken, shall we?
Let's just leave the opinions-at least on this particular issue-unspoken, shall we?
Then... why not leave the topic alone when no one had said anything in over three weeks?
Though I think leaving opinions unspoken because someone might disagree with them kinda odd on a message board meant for discussion.
Dubs,
Their flaws? Well I think they all start out having their own unique character potential.
THEN I think they all just end up about the same...totally angsty whiny clingy and damsels in distress...ey.
Take Julie-su for example. I respected her at first as the tough no-nonsense chick. Then they kind of turned her into a clingtoKnuckles crybaby.
'nuff said.
I... really don't see that myself.
Being emotionally attached to and concerned for someone =/= clingy and whiny, especially when she was introduced as a budding love interest from the very start. She proved she was willing to walk into death for Knuckles twice (Enerjak, Finitevus) without any hesitation or concern for herself, not to mention take matters into her own hands whether she had others' support or not (The Council, Locke). She calls everything as she sees it regardless of who she's talking to (Rouge, Sally, Locke, Knuckles) and has very much been an active combatant (firing on Lien-Da, no less) to the point of training others (Amy). I'd love to hear how all that comes off as "crybaby" and not "tough no-nonsense chick."
Well, just seems like she's been in a lot of helpless situations, like getting kidnapped by the Dark Legion.
They could've executed her character development as well, and maybe not have made it as crystal clear that she was going to be a love interest for Knuckles.
Now, one thing I want to note is that I'm not going to create a debate on who Knuckles should be with because that would be against the rules.
However, her storyline matches Knuckles to a T... in many aspects. Except she wasn't treated like she was special, she was treated like she was crap. Unlike Knuckles who was bioengineeed to be a living chaos weapon so to speak.
They also should've given her some kind of powers. NONE of the girl characters have any real super powers. SKILLS maybe, but no super powers. And I'm REALLY hoping they do more with Blaze than that one shoddy appearence that she made before. But at least she has powers. X3 And she's a cat. And purple. And a pyro. So many pluses with Blaze. X3

None, and here I thought Mina had super speed and Amy had Piko magic, etc. As for Blaze I guess you haven't heard about Sonic Universe.
I though it took like 27 issues from the Knuckles comic for Knux & Julie to on on their first date?
You know, then she isn't shooting Knuckles or standing up to Vector and his verbal distrust towards her, or going into many battles against evil armies to empowered super villains.
I guess what I'm saying is that 90% of the females in the Sonic comic are anything but 'damsels in distress.' (I could say that your wrong and know nothing, but that would be a mean thing to say. I just think that you are misinformed)
Ladies & Gentlemen, EVERY CHARACTER HAS THEIR FLAWS AND FAULTS BECAUSE IF THEY DIDN'T THEY WOULDN NOT BE INTRESTING!!! So get off the 'Mary-Sue memes' and remember what is really important...
*sigh* Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeahhhhhhhhhhhhh...
How am I supposed to appreciate the importance of Charmy with Rocky there in the way? ;(
You give up and begin to swoon for the Blue Jacket...

I have created a monster.
Mission Complete!
... Evil Overlord. XD
I have created a monster.
*eyes LNR*
You have a habit of doing that.
Look at that. I go away for a while and you guys start having all the fun without me. You guys are mean. *pouts*
Amy has powers....the power to summon a bajillion Piko Piko hammers at once. That counts as powers right? And Nicole has...uh...computer powers. And bunnie has a buster canon lol.
Feh, Archie's girls are pretty lame.
Julie-Su's okay, but only because Manny Galan rocked at drawing her, and Ken Penders had some great stories involving her.
Sally had her own mini and a bunch of back-ups, so that's gotta count for something.
Everyone else kinda sucks IMO
"This is for people who know ANY of these characters well.
Princess Sally
Bunny Rabbot
Mina the Mongoose
Hershey the Cat
....Are there any other girls that I'm forgetting to mention? "
hmmm you forgot Julie-Su, Amy, Lupe the Wolf, rouge, blaze, cream...
Why do they suck, Comix? I know it's your opinion, but discussion is bred through elaborating on them. I'm curious to hear what you think and why you think it.
okay "suck" is a bit harsh.
I just never felt the women of the archie-verse were as well developed as others. Amy is pretty one-dimensional, Bunnie doesn't do much, Rouge is just a character I don't like, Hershey's okay but never really got a chance to shine, and I don't know anything about lupe and mina.
You can always ask Mau or Miko about Mina.
~Rico
You're kidding, right? A lot of the characters have developed over the years more than what they have in the other continuities. If anything, the Archie-verse has only expanded upon most of these already existing characters and even adding there own ones in which have also developed as characters over the years, a nice example of that being Lien-Da.
You can always ask Mau or Miko about Mina.
NO! NO! STOP THAT STOP THAT NOW!!!
I- It's too late in the night to be saying such inappropriate words like that.
Also saying something that "sucks" usually comes after half heart explanations in which in the ends only tells the reader that you really don't have a good reason at all.
Also, Why is this still debatable? I though we agreed that in conclusion that all the females should just swoon at Ray.
Case Closed!
You can always ask Mau or Miko about Mina.

Somehow, ominous choirs come from nowhere and the sky turns red...
