So I know that Ixis Naugus, King Max, Uma, Kodos, and Feist were the people trapped in the Zone of Silence.

I'm trying to figure out when, what order, and why they were each put in there. Who can help me out? If there was no specific reason for banishment for certain characters, who wants to speculate as to why they were? And why do you think Ixis left Feist in the Void while taking Uma and Kodos with him?

Ok, Ixis created it first of all. Ixis was put in there by betrayal of Kudos and Kudos, Max, and the original Freedom Fighters by betrayal of Botnik Prime. As far as I know of, it has never been told how Uma or Feist was put there, but I thinking that maybe Feist was put there by Ixis maybe because he was a rival seeing as how powerful Feist is.

Yeah, I forgot about the original FF's. Wow, Robotnik did a pretty good job there about banishing not only the King but the FF's of that time.

So what did Kodos do to trap Ixis in there? And also, I think it was said that Feist was trapped after King Max was already there. So maybe Robotnike saw Feist as some kind of threat... but then what powers would he have had before he was put in the Void? And what about Uma? I wonder what her history was. Now that her kids are dead, I guess we'll never have a reason to know.

Well, I think Kudos trapped Ixis the same way EggPrime did Kudos; push Ixis in without Ixis looking. Again, I don't remember anything about Uma's and I'm not sure about Feist. However, it seemed that Feist has always been powerful as he was about to vaporize Max with laser vision in the flashback in ish #43, I think that's the number.

I'm thinking Feist was one of the first to be trapped there, because the way Naugus talked about winning him over, he made it sound like his first real accomplishment in the Zone of Silence so that makes it seem like Feist was there before Naugus. Whether or not it was Naugus who banished Feist there is debatable

:] If there any Dr. Who fans here (in DRW the void is hell so since they cant put curse words in archie comics im guessing like in Dr. who the void is literally sonics version of hell (& yes ive read the comics & i know what it looks like but still):?

I'd say the Void is more like Purgatory.

The fact that the Void is severely lacking in pitchforks drives me to this conclusion.

If we're making biblical comparisons, I'd have to say Limbo.

There's a distinct lack of any indigenous threat - it's what you make it (including somewhere that Bunnie would've held her wedding in SatAM).

The comic has been somewhat vague as to whether the "Void" and the "Zone of Silence" are the same thing. It seems that either (a) they are two seperate things or (b) the Void is the name of the gateway from the Prime Zone into the Zone of Silence. Or maybe I'm just confused, that happens.

In any case, Doctor Who's Void is merely the empty space between dimensions, and the Doctor only uses hell as a sort of analogy. The Void isn't literally hell. The Zone of Silence (now known as the "Special Zone") is a dimension uinto itself, so it's different.

I know I was stretching the definition across both series, but I'd still say that Limbo was a better analogy, since it's an absence of something, rather than a solid sort of location with a real identity.

Pretty much the first thing that Bunnie says when walking into the crystal recreation of Mobotropolis in the SatAM episode The Void is "This is where I want my wedding!". 🙂

Ooh, that's right, I'd forgotten about that. Cheers =D

Has there actually been a Void in Archie continuity? What about that thing back in like issue #30, the empty space thing that Sonic got trapped in - was that called The Void?

I remember Robotnik mentioning merging the Void and the ZoS in The Darkest Storm, and it had me a bit confused...

The Original Freedom Fighters were also tossed into "the Void."

All this talk of "The Void" makes me feel like I'm in a horror movie. =D

Also, I thought it was Naugus who brought the Void and Zone of Silence together..

Sorry, Dirk, but I already said that in the first reply to the topic. ;p

Feist was never really trapped in the Zone of Silence; I'm pretty sure that's just where he lives. Don't ask me how, that's just how it worked. Maybe Naugus accidentally conjured him up when he created the place, but I don't know.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure that Robotnik put both Naugus and Kodos in there, but Naugus came later; Kodos was the first guy Robotnik stuck in there. King Max came after Naugus, and I have no idea how Uma Arachnis wound up there.

In reference to when and why, here are a few answers. Kodos was sent there some time before Robotnik really began planning his take over, since Kodos and Naugus had their own in mind and thought Robotnik would make a good underling. Of course, the fat man had no plans to share power, so he booted Kodos in there. Naugus came sometime later, presumably shortly before the coup of the Kingdom of Acorn. Once the coup was complete, Robotnik banished King Max to the Zone as well, about 11 years before the main storyline of the comics. In Uma and Feist's case, they were either somehow created during the formation of the Zone as its natives, or wound up there through some unexplained means, possibly having been banished there by Robotnik because they were seen as a particular threat. In all honesty, we don't know.

As for Uma and Kodos leaving the Zone, I'm pretty sure that they're native to Mobius, and they had willingly sided with Naugus. Feist only worked with them in King Max's dream because he'd been defeated and subjugated by Naugus' magic, so Naugus probably wouldn't have trusted him in a place where he wasn't omnipotent.
