Let's not judge a book by it's cover.

Uh-oh, I can just hear the screams of DC right now. DC's not gonna like this, Yogi!

The art for the side story seems different...hmmm will have to see more to get a better opinion.

Honestly though, when will people realize the Iron King is pretty much invincible?

Looks like they changed Amadeus Prower's colors so they're closer to Tails'. Have to say I don't think it works on him. In other news it just might be my imagination but it seems like more artists are trying to emulate Tracey's style with mixed success. I don't remember Fry drawing his character's this short before. Looks downright awkward at the bottom of the third page. On the other hand I like Renae's artwork. She seems to do fine when she doesn't have to draw run of the mill mobians.

Story-wise ... I don't even think we're allowed to comment on one aspect of the main story even though it's just there so I won't go there. Just not going there.

Meh. I was kind of hoping that Regina's temper tantrum before was a one time thing or at least didn't surface again so soon. I liked her other personality much better then this where she comes across to me as some kind of a Saturday Morning Cartoon-esqe Villainess.

Honestly though, when will people realize the Iron King is pretty much invincible?

Or rather that swords don't work. This is the second time in twenty issues one broke that easily. Guessing Stinky's arrows will work about the same way.

Very much agreed, I didn't even realize it was Fry rather than Yardley! till you pointed it out.

Also, pity the backup spoils the main story, cause I was kinda expecting/hoping that Jun would be successful.

Oh, no! Not the return of James Fry! His art is lame with a capital "L"!

YOU CUT THAT OUT!

At least explain why you do not like his artwork in a detailed format!

You want answers? I'll give 'em to you! His artwork is too anime-styled! The way he does the angry expressions is horrible! Here are your answers now!

First off, calm down, no need to get defensive when all we asked was that you explain. Second, just about every artist on this comic is anime-styled, so it's not just him.

Actually, I am surprisingly calm for now.

I like Amadeus color change. Did they ever change Tails' mom as well? A lot of characters sported Sally's shade of red hair and that kinda confused me.

Rosemary's hair color is supposed to be Brown. It was miscolored on the first cover she appeared on and I guess they decided to run with it for a while because they thought it was " official ". In recent issues it's been flip flopping between Red and Brown but it's really supposed to be Brown.

I don't mind that they changed one of Tails' parents colors so at least one of them resembles post-SA Tails. It's just that I think Amadeus came out too yellow. Think he needs a tint or two of orange so he doesn't look so bright.

This issue took me a while to read through, and I've figured out why: soooo much dialogue. Good for Sally's character development, but a lot to get through. Issue as a whole was alright. Thought the way Sonic and Monkey Kahn just stood there at times during the fight was funny.

What was up with Fry's art? It kept shifting from good to bad throughout the issue.

The back-story was good. Enjoyed the artwork, though Snively looked a bit weird. Wonder what he's up to.

And the off-panel was funny. I never even noticed all the dome-love in this comic. lol

What is this I don't even ...

In other news Renae posted the Pencils for the Iron Queen backup over at Bumbleking. I suppose it's all right to post them here as well in case you missed them.

Can anyone actually tell me what happened in this issue besides the obvious? I thought Mobotropolis was under attack or something ... again.

Mentioned this over at Bumbleking, but I loved Renae's pencils. The combat on the top of the fourth page looks a bit stiff and I'm not fond of Snively on page 1, but the rest looks great. Based on pencils alone, I think she's made some improvements on her pencils. I've heard that the colors and inks don't do it much justice, but I don't have the issue to judge for myself.

I dunno if you saw this, but these were the spoilers for the issue posted over at Bumbleking:

2Tailed wrote:

-Sonic arrives in the nick of time to save Amadeus, and Tails pilots the troops away in a special craft, impressing his father
-Sonic has a hard time against the Iron King, although he manages to pull off a classic move against him, and Monkey Khan arrives in the nick of time
-Sally has a heart-to-heart with Bunnie about what her next move should be, romance-wise, while the two contenders for her heart duke it out with IK
-Sonic comes up with a plan to, with the help of Nicole and Monkey Khan, fool the Iron King into doing absolutely nothing to harm the good guys
-The battle comrades, getting along quite well, return to New Mobotropolis where Sally coyly asks to talk to Ken, to Sonic's chagrin...
-Amy Rose picks up Sonic on the rebound! No joke.

Oh, also! We get to see Sonic tapping his foot again, and using his Figure-8 move (Quick, True Believers! Which issue saw the debut of that move?)

Regina's story shows a bit more of how Jun and Regina cemented their power with Robotnik's supplies, violence, and some good old-fashioned deceit. We see the brides of all four houses, and I think we get a glimpse of Lord Yagyu. We also learn that the names "Iron Queen" and "Iron King" were apparently titles that Regina and Jun adopted as they used Robotnik's aid to spread terror across the land.

Bad isn't the word. James Fry's artwork is totally lame! Why did they hire him anyway?

People are doing, and they're not seeing things in the same way as you are. That's why they're asking you to be more specific.

If a Sonic/Amy pairing is indeed what Ian is building up to, I'd be curious to know what changed Sonic's mind on her so quickly. It was only about a dozen issues ago (which has to be a fortnight or less in the comic's time) that he viewed a close amount of time with Amy as a form of punishment.

Thank Primus we've banned relationship discussions.

I can see the SonicxSally shippers getting pretty riled.

Because Sonic agreeing to tell Amy about his adventures over food = instant longterm steady relationship. =P

Whoo. Side note. Went to Jim Hanleys and they must've ordered a bunch of Sonic Packs-cause they had every issue from 28-207. Needless to say I dropped 60 bux to close my collection gaps to 5 key issues. ...134 being one of them. Now I understand the whole Darkest storm arc, the Shadow crap, the Girl vs Sonic crap- I was so in the dark I was straight up Congo surfing.

Then I read 207 and yeah, this Story arc isnt moving fast enough now. I need more ninjas.

For let us not judge or say anything yet, for they maybe a twist to this. Instead, we let's try to figure out (get inside the head) and predict what Ian will do next, for he can only fool and tease us for so long.

Ian, himself has mentioned/said (deniing it or not) that he is a SonSal supporter, so let's not be hasty on what we see, for 208-212 and the crossover into SU in the early '10 may give us the real answers as to what's really going on.

And the twist that spoke of at the beginning, hint: ever read his Other-M webcomic

That would be the same Ian who said this and this about wanting to put OM behind him.

Which directly contravenes what you're suggesting. I tend to believe that Ian's telling the truth when he denies things.

Overall, I never had a problem with Fry's art. I always thought they were solid to look at; Anime-style or not, he had a sense of style that I really enjoyed and I'm glad to see his artwork once again.

As for the issue in hand, an all around entertaining piece of work. Considering the potential pairings between Sal/Khan and Sonic/Amy...honestly, I'm not jumping the gun just yet. Too early for any judgment call, so I'll kindly remain neutral.

It is?

On noes!

Just think of all the conversations I've had over food!

That would mean I'm a hussy!

Got the issue. Not too bad. The triangle mouths annoyed me somehow.
