What are people's opinions on the two of them? Should they become a couple or not? I mean, to me, it seems like Knuckles & Julie-Su aren't really going anywhere further than where they are right now. Over the years, there has been tension going on between Julie-Su & Vector, especially recently in STH #99, where they seemed to spark an interest in each other. Opposites attract sometimes. I don't know. But in my opinion, I think they should, even for awhile at least. Anyone else?

I don't even know where to start with this... especially since relationship discussion ain't really allowed. But just in terms of character discussion...

Two characters have made it blatantly clear that they don't particularly like each other on several occasions - at best they still nitpick and nag, never mind that at worst they physically attack one another - and that's an example of a budding love? They have some respect for each other as "co-workers" of sorts, and they're both good guys, so of course they weren't going to let the other get killed or something and will stand up for the other if the situation really calls for it, but they still rub each other the wrong way. That's pretty much been reinforced since day one.
"Opposites attract" doesn't apply because they aren't opposites. Vector's not a violent slob while Julie-Su's a tidy pacifist. They just don't get along that well, and they've acknowledged that. And if you think Julie+Knuckles can't go anywhere, why would sticking her with another character be any different?

This just seems beyond left field. A little bit of playful conflict and tension is one thing, but I really don't see how near-constant, honest dislike = true lub!

At any rate I don't really see this thread lasting long before getting into actual relationships, so...

It's shipper logic. Which is kind of like the opposite of actual logic. That is among the many reasons it isn't allowed.

However, I'm amused that the bickering romance meme has been used so many times that some consider bickering a reason to interpret romance.

Character opinions?

Obviously I like Vector. That's more about the personality his animations suggested in the original Chaotix game, however. Ken Penders wrote him his own way. Then SEGA made a whole other personality. Then Archie kind of combined versions as they generally do. Most recently, Vector in Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games DS had him more thrillseeking and goofy, and not mentioning money ever, which I liked since it is more like Chaotix. In that game I interpreted it like Espio is Sonic with the egotism, freedom, and aggression ramped up, while Vector is Sonic with the fun, thrillseeking, idealism, and whimsy ramped up. That's one of the reasons characterization was much better in the genesis era, and Mario rarely talks. They let you interpret what you want. However I'd argue that the sprite animations were rather strongly suggesting those qualities.

In short their relationship is like Rattrap & Dinobot from "Beast Wars." They hate each other's guts, but they put that aside for a common goal.

New question. Ray fashion in 2010. I'm thinking... Sweater vest or Hoodie.

Discuss?

I'm not particularly keen on Vec x Julie-Su. Knux x Julie-Su is better, IMO (albeit more predictable).

Didn't you read anything in this post? We are talking about Ray's fashion ideas for 2010, NOT silly relationships of 2-D characters!

Funny. I see a giant bee...

On Topic. I believe that Vector & Ray should have matching t-shirts with the words "ISLANDS FINEST" across their chest.

Discuss!

What? I saw a heart. A pulsing, throbbing heart.

On Topic. I believe that Vector & Ray should have matching t-shirts with the words "ISLANDS FINEST" across their chest.

No. It makes them sound a like a tropical cocktail.

That could work though, I think I've eaten crocodile before. (And regretted it.)

Cartoon characters Real men like Vec & Ray are very comfortable with their written dialogue identity to wear such manly shirts.

Off Topic. Bean & bark should dress like the Ratt Pack (Fiona can be their Sammy Davis Jr) and Regina should make her Monster's GRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOW!

No, I was worried I'd start imagining them sitting in coconut shells with paper parasols and a splash of kaluha.
