If you had the chance to write your own Sonic "spin-off" series, what would it be?

My idea would be "Chaotix Detective Agency" An adventure/comedy book that centers around the Chaotix, who decide to open up thier own detective Agency after being bored from sitting on the sidelines in Knothole, Vector, Espio, and Mighty (Charmy's alot older than in Sonic X and I think is married if I'm not mistaken)decide to open thier own detective agency.

Each issue would deal with some oddball case while also focusing on one main case through the first year of the book, finding Cream for Vanilla. (They would both premiere in the comic.) Another pair of chacters that would appear as regulars would be the duo of Bean and Bark. Done as a "Jay and Silent Bob" duo simular to what Jon Gray did with them in a fan-comic I once saw. They call themselves "professionals" at any odd job that comes around whenever the Chaotix need help. Other cameos would include Knuckles, Knack, Rouge and Shadow.
Sonic and the FF would be left out of the book entirely.

The book would mainly focus on comedy. The only romantic subplot would be Vector's huge crush on Vanilla. The stories would also take place somewhere other than Knothole or Angel Island, to help define itself seperatly.

What do you think? ">

He's older, but he isn't married. He and Safron are only destined to marry. Also due to "Return to Angel Island," Charmy & Safron are in Knothole with Vector, Espio, Mighty, Ray, Julie-Su, & Knuckles.

I wouldn't mind the overall idea though as its better than what I've been getting in the regular series.

I think think the Knuckles series should come back. The stories seemed to have so much more depth than the sonic series...the detective series could be integrated into the new Knuckles...

Yes, so Penders can go away and leave Sonic alone!!

I would actually like a story arc/series where Sonic leaves Knothole and the Freedom Fighters for a (long) while, improving himself (combat, finding destiny, whatever). Then Sonic himself can develop as a character, because let's face it, he's becoming shallower than a kiddie pool.

As always, I'm going to express an interest in the speciest setting of Station Square, it'd make for very good reading to see the furry-human relationship after all the hastle with the Overlanders, better if it were in an ongoing series.

Best way to do this would be a Rouge series. Having an urban spy would allow for interaction with both heroes and villains (and of course Shadow would have a place in Rouge's life) and let us see life in Archie Station Square.

Of course it'd be too X for Archie.

Quite simple: I want to see more Sonic Kids stories!

Without a lot of the baggage of later years cluttering up the story line, the writers could focus on the characters themselves and get an idea of how to work with them. Also, maybe the book would get to be FUN again.

Seconded!

Hey, aside from a comic directly based on SatAM, it's the only way we'll see the old dynamic again - the cast has changed too much now to ever go back to the way they were before Endgame.

If there was a spin off of the Sonic Archie comic, I too would want it to be either Sonic Kids or based on Sonic Sat a.m.

I like DC's idea...maybe Archie could hire Ben Hurst to write out the stories....first give us a 2-3 issue summary of SATAM (particulary Blast to the Past and The Doomsday Project)...then start busting out the Third season stuff...

I'm not sure I want a seperate title for Sonic Kids. But I wouldn't mind seeing them as a regular back-up feature for a while (instead of insert comics or M25YL). Then I'd switch to Knuckles/Chaotix backups, maybe do more SEGAish stuff (Rouge, Shadow, Eggman featurettes) and finish off with minor characters (Rosie, Uncle Chuck, Geoff & Hersh, Elias, Rob). Give everyone a taste of the spotlight, ya know?

With that in mind, it sounds like the Knuckles series should either be revived, or never should have been cancelled. Why was it discontinued anyway? Granted the "King of the Hill" arc wasn't the world's greatest, but that alone shouldn't have had any effect on the series' popularity. If anything, I found it more engaging than the Sonic series at the time. And I was really liking Sonic even more than before when this happened.
