Does anyone here know why DIC even bothered to produce the old "Christmas Blast!" special. Production for "Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog" had been scuttled in favor of the "SatAM," and we all know how THAT turned out. So what gives?

The world of AoStH is a much more fitting place for Christmas that SatAM. I personally liked the Christmas Blast.

The Christmas Blast special is unique because, yes it was based in the world of "The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog", but it included Princess Sally...

Originally Sonic's Christmas Blast was going to be Sonic's Extreme Christmas Special, or smething along those lines, to help advertise for the new Sega Saturn game Sonic Xtreme that was coming out.

But, Extreme got canned, and they decided to switch their marketing over to Sonic 3-D Blast, which would be out on the Saturn, Genesis, and the Game-Gear.

So...Marketing. That and Grounder really, really wanted to wish you a merry Christmas!
