Okay, I got this issue Tuesday and quite to my surprise as well seeing as how this is the first time I recieved an issue before the HQ reported it's arrival.
It starts out showing Sonic about ready to wreck the bot Chris is in which is about to shoot missles at Sonic. It then cuts into a breif recap of the first 3 issues, and then the Chris-bot shoots the missiles missing Sonic and heads for Angel Island and Knuckles. Sonic, Tails, and Amy attacks Chris-bot and are in for a shock and Eggy calls in the other bots. S,T, and A fights the bots, blah, blah, and just when all is lost Knux, riding on top of the X-Tornado, piloted by Chuck with Cream and Cheese along for the ride, comes in and joins the fray. Just for the record Rouge is glad to see the Rad Red with hearts flying out from her.
Tails tries to grab Eggman's controller but is grabbed by RoboPrez and off Chuck and Cream flies to save Tails. With mainly Sonic's help Chris frees himself. Back to Tails, Chuck catches up with him while Cheese gets off the plane, enters RoboPrez, and frees the real President inside.
In the end, Chris, who even though free can still control the bot, helps the gang with the other bots; Eggman, seeing he's about to lose, is gonna self-destruct the bots but is stopped by Tails. Eggman flies off and our heroes exit the musem triumphantly.
This issue is the best so far, IMO, and I think Joe makes Eggy quite diabolical using humans and what not. I still think the main comic is the best(no offense, Joe), but this(and last)issue is really making this comic more interesting and I look forward to the following issues! BTW, the art still isn't that great; what issue does the new artist make his debut?
Super Rayor asked:
what issue does the new artist make his debut?
I just wanted to clear this up. Tim Smith III is the regular artist on Sonic X and will remain so for the foreseeable future. However, because of scheduling issues, he won't be able to draw every issue. Here's how the schedule looks for the next many issues:
#5 and #6 are drawn by Tracy Yardley
#7 is drawn by David Hutchison
#8, #9, #10, and #11 are drawn by Tim Smith III
Issues 12 and 15 have been written and are planned as stand alone stories for alternate artists, depending on where things are with the art deadlines.
I have not written the scripts for 13 and 14 yet, but the current plan is that they will be drawn by Tim Smith III.

Thanks for your always-welcome insights to the comic book world, Joe!

Isn't she drawing StH#160, too?
I believe she is. =)

He.
Ah. I apologize. I hadn't heard of him before Joe Edkin spoke of him.
Storywise, I haven't had too much of a problem. I did think Rouge saying that Topaz wouldn't hurt her right after Topaz just did was silly though.
Artwise, I have a whole lot more problems. The "solid background" is still being used too much and seemingly no one quite gets Rouge other than Spaz. She almost always looks slightly off to me and I think it's mainly due to being too skinny at times. The others are usually fine or don't bother me much.
Anyone get the "Grease" reference?
I found it funny that while Sonic was able to convince Chris not to kill him, Rouge couldn't do the same with Topaz. It's nice to see Cheese be of some actual use for a change.
I got the reference.
Anyway, this was definitely the best Sonic X story so far,and possibly the best Sonic story period this year (although perhaps Stargazing in StH issue 151 beats it). It was loads of fun-- I had fun reading it and I believe Joe had fun writing it. It was a cool concept that was done well.
And perhaps best of all, Chris's characteristics that are usually thougth of as negative (stubbornness, obsessive love of Sonic) were implemented in a positive and believable way through his overcoming of the robot.
Oh, and also-- there's no ad insert in this issue! I'm glad about that.
