Guys? This is driving me batty! I'm new here to the forum, but I'm hoping you guys are avid readers. Does anyone remember seeing a comic where the Zone Cop was in his locker room looking at an open locker with his partner's former uniform and equipment? I'm certain I saw it. Yet I cannot find it anywhere.
I've read the comic completely since ish 36 and read most specials and mini-series, and I honestly don't remember any scene like that. My memory's not that great so I may not be remembering it, but I'm quite certain that it's not in any of the issues I've read.
Thanks for your honest answer, Super Rayzor. Either way, there's implications that the No Zone version of Tails was Sonic's partner and was killed. That there is the reason Zonic understood Sonic's pain in having to deal with the monster versions of his family and friends. That's why that scene bugs me, I know I saw something related to Zonic's loss.
Oh, you mean when Sonic had to kill Jules-zilla? Sonic was sad that he had to kill a version of his father and was mad cuz he knew Zonic knew that Sonic was gonna have to kill Jules-zilla, and when Zonic told Sonic that he understood Sonic's pain, he was saying that it was paiful for him too in having to guide Sonic into killing a version of their father. You see before that issue, we, or at least Sonic, had no idea that Zonic was the No Zone version of Sonic so Sonic didn't realize how Zonic could empathize with Sonic until the reveal. Er, I hope I wasn't too confusing and you got the idea I was trying to get across.
Yes! That is the issue I'm referring to, I have that very one, and it doesn't reveal the scene I'm thinking of.
However, I could swear at a later date, there was more revealed of Zonic's life and that his partner was missing or dead. There was a shot of his locker room. That's what's driving me crazy. Sorry if I'm stuck, but it's nagging at me. Or...Maybe it as that fancomic Other M? *head-desk* Can someone tell me? It's been years since I've read the series.
Ah, good old Archie wikia. I see Vector and Espio have counterparts, but there's never any mention of Zails. I guess this is a question that will never be answered. A heckuva thing to get hung up on.
Well, schucks, I was hoping that would help the only thing I can think of is to go to the Bumbleking Forums, Ian Flynn's (the current writer) board, and ask the question there. As much as I hate to say it, it's much more active there than here with more knowledgeable fans, and while Ian doesn't do Q&A threads anymore, he's still pretty active and there's a good chance he might remember it and have an answer for you. Also, if it is from Other M, Ian is the same guy that wrote Other M as well so you good there in that department, too.
The only mention of Zonic having a partner in Other-M was where he mentioned choosing Sonic Prime as his partner to sort the alternate reality out. That was in issue 21.
So there's never been a scene of Zonic getting off work and looking at a locker with the fox's things in it. Gotcha, thanks Samantha. I have no idea WHY I got that image stuck in my head. I was so sure Zails was dead.
