If you could choose any world leader past or present or any past president to rule who would it be?
My choice would be:
Harry S. Truman - He fought through the end of WWII and through the Korean War. He didn't care about what people thought of him firing popular Gen. Douglas MacArthur who wanted to start WWIII and take over all of Korea.

Nikita Khruschev - During the height of the Cold War he militarized the Soviet Union and got it ready in case of attack. He also kept his mind on domestic issues which I feel Bush is keeping his mind off. People who were exiled to Siberia were allowed to return home. There was also more freedom in the Soviet Union when he was leader.

I gotta say, I didn't think I'd find many people who'd like Harry Truman. Good choice, as I liked him as a president also (my grandpa's favorite too).

James K. Polk. Best. President. Ever.
well, not really, but a micromanager and had every bill passed in congress with no problems. I just like him.

Plato. Doesn't he deserve to rule the republic?

Ronald Reagan. Helped bring about the end of the Cold War, and brought America back to her feet after the disastrous Carter years.

George Patton. Just so whenever there's a war, we'd actually fight it like a war and end it quickly.

I agree with the choice for Polk.

Aristotle...I like him better than Socrates and Plato.

Ha, I suppose Patton, except he was a nutjob.

Only problems with Aristotle: Few of his works survive save Nichomocean Ethics and (2) that he was a really boring writter.
Socrates would suck.

Heck... maybe St. Bonaventure.

I second James K. Polk. Often called "the best president you've never heard of."

George W. Bush. Politics is amusing with that guy.

Other than that, maybe Churchill in wartime or Reagan or Polk in peacetime, for the aforementioned reasons.

Or SX.

No use complaining about it... perhaps a res populi.

You're ideas are alright, if not a russian or militaristic tone to what you perpose.
I guess I could say Charlemagne, St. Gregory the Great, Julian II, Plato, Thomas Jefferson is a good one also.
