I know alot of people on the board believe in military service, they believe that everyone should be MADE to do their bit in the army.
Well I dont.
I heard a radio station asking the other month asking; "Would you fight for your country?" and the majority of the people ringing up replied no.
And to be honest, neither would I. be it a war on terrorism, Iraq or wherever.
People may come in here and say; "Do you want to be invaded?"
the answer is no, I dont, but I ama TRUE believer of freedom, and it is MY FREEDOM NOT to join the army.
I honestly believe that in the last century the world has calmed down an awfull lot, we arent living in the same days that we were when invading other countries was common practice, empires came and went at the drop of a hat.
I know that the ideas sort of been thrown out of the window by George Bush invading Iraq, but even though a lot of the world hasn't calmed down, it ought to off.
So, I dont want to know the politics of war, the reasons for or against it, I want to know;
Would YOU fight for your country?
If a war started, would YOU pop down to the local rep office/whatever and say: "Sign me up"
My vote on fighting for:
The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Island

I cannot say I'd fight for my country. I'm pretty far from being patriotic or one for war. I'm grateful that the country allows me to live here, but I'm not going to try and slag others for saying it sucks or anything. 😀

Personally I can say I would not fight for my country given the reason of invasion, terrorism or what have you. I'm not a handy guy in that aspect. Bullets hurt, guns make noise. That and I'm not quite fit to join the army if I ever would. I am slightly overweight, lazy, a procrastinator, and sarcastic in nature. SO I'd say writting or doing something else for my country would be better than going deaf by a Drill Instructor, get shot. Though it would be nice to be a guy who could say "Back in 'Nam....." but kill the 'Nam part and insert whatever war is going on these days.
And my main reason I wouldn't fight is because. My President is a moron.

Yeah, i'm gonna have to say I would granted I'm due to ship out to Iraq sometime in the next couple months. I signed up for the Marine Corps in the middle of persian gulf II or whatever it was called.
