Apologies to all for hardly being around on either day because I was in and out of the panel rooms, and then having to naff off early and in a hurry on the Sunday because my last chance of a lift was heading off.
As I was saying to DWUK on the bus afterwards (and she agreed): I've only attended the Hypotheticals panel out of the whole convention for the last two years, because there's simply been nothing else of interest. This year, there actually seemed to be a lot of interesting options - but I still can't help feeling as though I missed out on the basic fun of just being there, like I usually am.
I feel bad for not really hanging around and socislising - especially when everyone was being so nice about me being on a tight budget. Maybe we can get some more time to just hang around if we can get a decent crowd in October.
Wish me luck in my STEP so that I get into Cambridge and you might even see me in October. ;D
Saz really wants to come to the London meet-up as well since she missed this one.
I love you all!
*collapses into a twitching heap in his moonpants and snores*
Uploading my photos now, currently got a good 110 or so on my LJ Scrapbook. About to caption them and then start on Bryan's ones.
Had a great time, managed to go all the way through from Bristol to Paddington, to Victoria and WALKING BACK to Waterloo, stopping at a McD's for dinner in FULL COSTUME!
No one batted an eyelid.
I love Britain's apathy :3
Anywho, I have MUCH work to do *picsavesavesave*
AHAHAHAHA PICCIES! *burrows into them wagging his tail happily*
Curse my borked camera =(
Yeah, there was actually stuff worth bothering with this year. Not sure if this was a good or bad thing (as Sarah says, it was distracting from the socialising), but it was at least variety.
Plus, I got Colin Baker to sing.
XD @ PaperChat
The second MoFo edition. Luuuuurving it.
It was good yeah. Though perhaps it would have been better if the convention had been worse.
I was too quiet
Poh my god you wonderfully lucky people, I finally got round to uploading the few photos I took at the con. Most of them are just plain single shots with the odd group shot here and there, although a couple need explaining. Firstly, Xag and Saz: Saz really wanted to come, but couldn't, so I took that piece of paper to represent her, thus she could be there in spirit. As for the me and R2 one, I was actually meant to be hugging R2, but I moved before the photo was taken.
Anywho. Click.
P.S.: Me > Craig at gay chicken. >:D
i'm not sure if i should be worried or pleased at the worrying amount of wierd shots of myself.
i had a great amount of fun over the weekend, shame i didn't end up getting any uni work done. >>; whoops.
YAY! PHOTOS!! Many thanks to Craig!
And xD @ PaperChat v1.0. It looks very glitchy... It should've been v0.999
the origional photo had brian literally going 'ROTFLOL!'. i warned you i'd edit it!
OK, I'm laughing more now looking at this than I did at the initial pic XD XD XD
I own your soul for letting you do this XD
~LightStrike, aka SilverShadow... AKA JEBUS
bwehee~ ^.@
Let's see... I own your soul (but not Ian's, for he burned me things and didn't make me wait FIVE FREAKING HOURS!) and you own Becca's.
...
I'll trade you your soul for Becca's soul!
And the pic is improved.
Excellence.
*Read's Craig's post*
...
.......
SOLD! 8D
~LightStrike, aka SilverShadow.
Craig, you fool! Since you own his soul, you could have just ordered him to give up Becca's soul and then you'd have both of their souls. You'd make a crap villain.
*ties her soul to herself with many shoelaces!* >>;
Make it a CotW. Everyone will get a good laugh.
but i'm not the one who makes Cotw. ^^; it usually seems to be SH who does that. i don't want to poddle about in his territory.
but if anyone did make it, i can give you a non 'omgbbq!11' version.
Edit: woah, over 70 posts already? o-o;
Yay my firstest topic that got moved to MFC2.
...apart from the alt topic. And the Elim Game if you count that, since although it was moved to SPA instead of MFC2 it was moved for the same reason.
Yes, and take notice that immediately after the move, people stop posting in the topic. That's just typical.
*prods people back into this topic* oo
We need piccage and storyage before more chattage can be derived.
WHERE ARE THE PHOTOS!?!?!?!?!
the photos i took are sitting in e-mails to myself. ^^; i've nowhere to upload them to.
and hurry up about it >>;;
Not bad, not bad at-- WE WANT THOSE DARN PHOTOS OR YOU WILL BE ATTACKED BY UNDERLINGS AND STUFFED WITH PASTRY!!
Craig gets all the praise until you show your photos, Becca.

that's all i could upload so far, as it keeps telling me that the rest (dispite being jpgs) that they're invalid.
Can't you upload to your Livejournal Scrapbook? o.o
o.o
*looks blank*
o.o?
What the HECK is with my expression in that group pic?!
*wonders why a Blue Hulk is fighting a brownie* Oo
Beast: Sexy Man Beast want to eat brownie, but brownie too big! ragh, maul it to smaller more manageable peices!

Apparently I have a silver tooth.
After being reminded of this thread indirectly, and probably unintentionally, both in the chat last night and in another MFC thread this morning, I decided to find this thread and see what the responses were right after mine. I know my response was on page 3 so I'm typing this from the Quick Reply window of page 3.
Craig, just out of curiosity, is "the Trishie and I" about when you met SSS in person? It's quite a coincidence of timing (well sort of, though that led to this post more so than this post leading to that) but I remember only last night in the chat she said that she met you in person one time. Did it just so happen that you were visiting somewhere close to where she happened to live and decided to visit her house while you were there? I could imagine that if someone from this forum, especially someone from a different country, came to my house with a camera in his/her hand, I probably wouldn't know how to react...
Anyway, I like the meetup pics. The whole same general sense of meeting people from this forum in person after knowing them online probably has more significance with a forum like this than it probably would have with forum like GS... I don't even know if it was ever done at all on that site... well, let me put it this way: Small forums like the Mobius Forum are to big forums like GS as small towns are to big cites. Well, at least to some extent, but it applies in different ways. Also, since Britain has a higher population density, that would explain why more people from the Mobius Forum can meet up there without travelling far than here in Canada or even down in the United States...

matthayter700 (14:52): WOT DO U MEEN BY DIS?
You put in misspellings that I didn't ever make when saying that before... seems like you're trying to make me look stupid. Look, as I said in the religion thread, what would you rather, that I assume which meaning of a word or phrase you're referring to and probably misinterpret the comment?
the mobius forum is a big one in my reckoning, but i do visit many smaller forums.
you could always have smaller meet ups in america, perhaps at other conventions?
Craig and Trish/SSS are what's commonly known as "an item", Matt. They're not strangers.
*Nodnod* This be true, though I don't understand why you would put any thought or bother into it though, Matt. Especially as the link was to the Meet-up photos, not my personal ones.
ChibiBecca, what I meant to say was that since so many more people in Britain live in a smaller area it's easier to get more people there without more people travelling farther.
Perhaps we could have a North American meetup but I was saying what I thought was the reason for me not having seen any be mentioned yet.
Well, Samanfur, I knew they weren't strangers, but... wait a minute... about the earlier part... I thought that was just an act they put on for this site or something... I knew from that time in the chat that they met in person, but I thought I remember SSS saying they met on the Internet first and in person later... so wouldn't that mean that the first time they met at all... was on the Internet? And now, a couple IRL? Awesome.
I guess it isn't really any of my business all the same...
Still, I don't think I'll read SX's sig, "there's oceans between us, but that's not very far" the same way again, especially seeing as how it's coming from this same site...
Exile, I'm assuming you're an alternate account of Craig Bayfield. Your link linked to a site that linked to both the Meet-up photos AND the personal ones...
pics.livejournal.com/bayfield/
That site you linked to had "The Trishie and I" in it...
True, but this thread was relevant only to the link regarding the Bristol photos. If you wish to surf elsewhere, fair be it, none of my business. But don't use this thread to discuss my personal life. Hell. Don't discuss my personal life on forum at all.
If you had a question like that, emailing either Trishie or myself would be the better way to go.
He's stalking you, sweetie. :3

i don't get the fuss anyway. i met my boyfreind on the internet.. heck, i've known him online for over 6 years now. what's the big deal?
*Nodnod* Yeah, heck it's not even a new thing for the MoFo, there have been like 3/4 long distance relationships that have bloomed here, wether it halfway across America in the case of Tergonaut and Cookirini/Mau Evig or halfway across the world like Lee and Astrid.
i guess my relationship sort of counts as a MoFo one, as apparently he did post here very breifly years ago.
Craig... why didn't you say that when Samanfur made her comment about you and SSS? Now I guess I'll stop, but still I don't see why you didn't mention that earlier...
Anyway, when you say Lee, do you mean Lee as in VCP, who's British, and Astrid as in stumbleina, who's American? If so, that's pretty much the same kinda thing, so it's not like it's anything further than your example, but either way, that's interesting, but still hard to imagine... met on the Internet first...
Heh, maybe being a Sonic HQ forum member mattered more to some people than I thought it did...
Yeah, the MoFo's a magical place. No doubt about it. Also..
do you mean Lee as in VCP
yes
it has nothing to do with being in a certain forum or website, internet relationships are happening all over the 'net. heck, two of my internet friends met online and are now happily married. it isn't a wierd thing, it's very common.
but yeah, the MoFo is an especially magical place.
