How easy is it for you to decide what you need or really want to buy?

How often are you satified with your new purchases?

I was satified with many of my purchases i made.
It's hard for me to decide what i need to buy from some music stores.
There are too many drum modules and software synthesizers out there.
No one can afford them all if he's not a millionaire! :annoyed

I've often avoided buying games I've really wanted in the past, believing that in a while it'll be cheaper...this caused two games, Project Justice and Zone of the Enders 2, to kick me in the crotch when I searched for them on Amazon not too long ago...

However, there have been times when I've bought something when being uncertain about it at first, and loving the game to bits after realizing it's truly amazing, like Okami...though this is rare.

when the rent and bills monsters start going 'GRAAH! FEED MEE!', the becca knows that it is time to cut back on feeding her bookcase with yummy new books and to re-direct the flow of dosh towards the greater evils that are british gas and their kind.

alternatively, just consider how much you'd really miss the item that you're considering buying if your house burnt down. do you really, really need that pretty new game, when you've a pile of others that you've barely played? ^^;

or just live on noodles. you'll suddenly gain a whole load more cash that you used to spend on food! 😛

It depends. If it's anime, I usually go with my gut instinct. This usually leads to me finding gems and my friends finding their brains broken and wanting my head on a stick.

If it's software or just about anything else, though, I usually try to see the highest specs/quality/etc. for a ceratin price range.

Games I'll usually do a bit of research on before buying. The only exception to this was Homeworld, and looking back, I'm glad I went with my gut on that one.

Satisfaction of purchase.

Obsession + Usefulness = Satisfaction.

"I must own the world's only Tails Doll!" $120 = Supreme satisfaction. An in-joke, demon protector of my home and cute plushie for hugging. Never gets old and is more or less my mascot.

"I must own a Keyblade!!!" $150 = ...uh, it looks nice and all... but... *shoves behind cupboard and forgets about it*

Normally I'm always satisfied with my purchases though. I convince myself that I shall be before buying and I remain convinced after making the purchase. My insane brain works for me sometimes.

I am a miser, so I rarely splash out. That said, my DVD collection always grows apace. DVDs are what I buy rather than spending a fortune eating out / drinking / clubbing.

Rationally, there are DVDs on that shelf that I haven't watched in nearly 3 years - but they're there if I want them. "Knight Rider" season 1 springs to mind there - it helps that I'd already seen the eps loads of times.

At the moment I am seriously pondering purchasing a "Count Duckula" original production cel. Now, it's expensive, but I promised myself I'd be frivoulous with 100 of my bonus this year, so that could help. The one in question features Count Duckula, Nanny & Von Goosewing, plus has the interior of the Castle as a backdrop. The only thing it's missing is Igor. Satisfaction will be supreme, as Craig says. Usefulness? Unknown, other than it will look great framed on my wall, if I can find a space on the wall to put it. But it's a piece of animation history.

>> Knight rider is collecting dust on your shelf, wtheck man, mail that to me...

so it can do the same...

I'm just as bad with DVD's I'll spend 200 on them in an instant, watch them all, never see them again. But Im usually satisfied.

I now have a 360, mere days before Halo 3. You could say I have no regrets about my most recent purchase. :spin

I wonder what my odds are on getting Halo 3 on launch day with no preorder.
