Remind me why he was even INVITED by Columbia University?
Sure as heck wasnt for a pretty pony tea party, that's for sure.
It's true. I went to Iran and the moment I crossed the border I started liking girls.
"In Iran, we dont have REPORTED homosexuals cause if we did, we would kill them"
Fixara
And for a bonus: "In Soviet Russia, homosexuals have us"
*laughs* Did you guys see the rest of his interview? What an a******.
You guys realize this is the same dude who says the Holocaust didn't happen, right? >>
Exactly. A-hole.
Ahmadinejihad fails to surprise me with his ness anymore.
Ahmadinejad: I'm the only gay in village! </little britain>
Of course they don't have homosexuals
He's already killed them all

Remind me why he was even INVITED by Columbia University?
Why shouldn't he be?
There's no denying that his policies're completely reprehensible in Western eyes and he's got an ego the size of the US national debt, but at least if he was in New York on UN business anyway, he had the nerve to be willing to stand up, take a right of reply to Bush sabre-rattling at him every five minutes and defend himself. If that meant making himself look even worse, then fair enough - but he has the right to respond to accusations.
I was fascinated by footage of students parading about saying that they were all in favour of free speech - just not on their campus.
You can't have it both ways.
What Sam said: The Iranian president has just as much right to come and visit Columbia University as the local New York newspapers complain about the bull[CENSORED] the Iranian president spews from that thing called his mouth.
It was purely idiotic. I live a few blocks away-but I went out of my way to go and see the debauchery erupt, and it made my head spin. Just the AMOUNT of idiotic "Free speech dosen't beguile Bigotry!" chants and related signs hurt me. I wanted to actually hear the danged thing, but I was not gonna try that.
But, I was actually PROUD that the ones that actually heard him talk only booed and jeered and not get violent. They let him talk and I felt that was a step for both Iran and the US-though each side stuck firmly to their ideals... Yeah I'm sure there were dumb comments made-but hey, we got to hear his words, as angsty as they may be.
Now, no more serious DL. Get these protestors and Iranians out my damn city, they're cutting off my access routes to work. ALL OF THEM! -.- 42nd street was already a madhouse, now they shut off half the damn streets and the SUBWAY IS CROWDED EVEN WORSE >O!!!
He certainly has a right to free speech in our country's borders. But does he have a right to be heard? Not really.
I still maintain that it was stupid for Columbia to invite, considering the double standard they've shown with regards to Jim Gilchrist of the Minutemen (you know, the guy who created the group of border watchers, who was forced off his stage at Columbia).
I actually thought it was an interesting idea to invite him.
And I wonder how he felt when all the students laughed at the quote in the title.
I wouldn't call the University wrong legally for inviting him, I'd call them wrong morally for giving their time and attention to someone (OPINION WARNING) not worth it. I would never say he has no right to speech, but I would also never invite him into my home.
Try to say Ahmadinejad 10 times fast! and.......GO!!
Iran president nonsense made for epic traffic, barricaded areas and POLICES EVERYWHERE. Manhattan was not fun Monday. I killed a cow.
I did it, Purdy! =D
Frankly, I think the entire event justified itself and turned out to be a victory for free speech in that More people know of his reprehensible policies and views and are probably more opposed to him then ever. That's the way it's supposed to work. You're allowwed to say dumb things, it's just you need to deal with the consequences of what you say.
I view this as a good thing.
He needs a hug.
...From his father.
I think he's had one too many already. o.o

He needs a hug.
From the entire MoFo.
Methinks Anakin's (Darth Vader) gay cousin Enrique (Kitty Vader) would like to have a word with him.
