And no, I'm NOT talking about GitS directed by Spielberg.
Pac-Man is chomping his way toward the big screen. One of five films funded by a $200 million Crystal Sky Pictures deal announced in Cannes this week, Pac-Man -- the movie -- has been greenlit for production.
Crystal Sky also hired Paul Anderson (Resident Evil) to write a blood-sucking screenplay adaptation of the late-'80s vampire-themed Castlevania videogame from Konami.
Good videogames historically make bad movies, so gamers will doubtless keep a critical eye on these movies-in-progress.
Fanboys certainly didn't hold back last month when news broke about Crystal Sky's highest-profile project to date. Learning about the company's 3-D remake of Ghost in the Shell to be directed by Steven Spielberg, some anime purists criticized the decision to tinker with a classic.
.........Where's the bleach when I need it?
Will be a !+@+ movie, as will the GitS movie.
I strongly hope the latter is jaw-droppingly awesome, but it won't. It simply won't. =(
There's also a live-action AKIRA in production. :3
There's also a live-action Americanized AKIRA in production with Leonardo DiCaprio. :3
Fixed... for great disappointments. Just in case anyone was feeling hopeful about it.

But it's a direct adaptation of the manga and not a remake of the anime :O
