PORTLAND, Ore. -- Police in Portland are investigating an ad posted on the popular Web site Craigslist featuring a baby for sale for $1,000.
The ad shows a baby covered in food or mud being held by an adult.
Text with the ad reads, "We are out of tweak and we will sell this baby for a thousand dollars." Tweak is another word for methamphetamine, Local 6 reported.
Lt. Dave Okada said detectives are trying to track down whoever posted the message.
"Whether it's a joke or truly serious, it is not funny," Okada said.
Nicholas Dunbar and his friends said they spotted the advertisement on Craigslist under the Salem-area "rants and raves" section and immediately called police.
Officers said if the ad is real, the baby is in danger.

Suddenly I have this image of Pete from Goof Troop hocking used to babies to the populace as if they were cars. I think I may actually be a terrible person.
When my mind centered on the word "Craig," the entire theme of the thread wouldn't go back.
GT's Mind: "reading: 'Baby for sale on Craig -'
Craig-'
Craig-'
"
More like it was on his list of things to do o.o;
When my mind centered on the word "Craig," the entire theme of the thread wouldn't go back.
Funny how association works like that; I had something of the same experience since I saw "Craig" which immediately associated into "Bayfield!" which made the thread somewhat.. more absurd, really.
On the topic of the news itself - sounds like a prank (wasn't there people trying to sell souls and whatever on Ebay before they stomped down on such sillyness?) and if it isn't.. atleast they're stupid enough to get caught? ;o
Beats having to raise him
damn tweakers
Why did my mind jump from 'oh god what is dubs posting now' to 'that error is going to be one helluva format job'?

Ohhh Toby xD. Put the work away.
Kompi -Lurker extraordinaire . Glad to see ya.
Back OT: That's not even funny. Especially since they'd prolly would get bids for it, which makes it even sadder.
