I am further confused
I don't mind furries. Heck, I'll even admit it: I like them. But I'd feel completely out of place at these furry conventions, honestly - furries are NOT that big a part of my life in the slightest.
Not to mention I'd feel out of place at somewhere as comparatively normal as Otakon, but still.
Don't read too much into CSI. As far as I know what was shown there is pretty extreme for furries. You'd have to ask Fex, I think he went to one.

I don't even watch CSI, although yes, I had heard about that one episode with the insanely creepy furry people.
Still, it'd feel weird going around people who were oddly more comfortable being there than I am. Perhaps the same could be said of ALL religions conventions, but still...
hah, i remember that episode. it caused an influx of trolls into the RP chatroom i went to at the time.. they couldn't understand that most of us weren't furries, just roleplaying. thanks, TV people, for your terrible research!

You'd have to relax a bit, Shad. Being nervous would just make all the animals nervous. Then they eat your flesh.
Easier said than done. But I assume after the first day you'd stop jumping every time a six foot weasel walked up behind you.

Just got on using a friend's connection. Things are going okay now. I didn't have a good flight over and the first day was hell. So was the first half of day two but its looking up now.
And I bought Sam a gift too...

hi guys. Its my last day here. Its been so much fun. I have bought plushies, seen the largest fursuit parade ever. Taken over 300 pictures and drawn and recieved tons of art. I also got to try out my fursuit somewhat. The head and tails. The rest will follow soon.
I so do not want to go home now. I love it here and my friends...
Ended up buying my friends plushies and art and i bought Sam a resin fantasy spell book for lrp.
Happy yet so sad to go now foxie...

My flight was cancelled though, so I was at the hotel for another 2 hours before I caught the 55minute flight from San Jose to Los Angeles Airport.
55minutes...hardly seems worth it huh?
The after 3 hours at LAX a nice 11 hour flight home...except that it wasn't that long at all. The plane hit some kind of jet stream or something and we raced along at 655mph!
I got home in just over 10 hours...though the turbulance was nasty. The plane dropped a couple hundred feet through it once!
Im home now, more to come later.

Oh don't worry, I have over 300 pictures to sort through, mostly of the Fursuit Parade - my paws hurt from taking photos of over 400 fursuits...
It was quite something to see.
One of the ones I am very proud of though is the mountains of Sierra Nevada...covered in snow which I nabbed on the Airbus...they look NICE.

Thank You for the well wishes. I truly did enjoy myself. Got some good comments on my art this year, quite a few have said I've improved.
Also apparently I've relaxed so much more than I used to be too, which is good. =3
