Topic starter

Trivilla: After NoScript updated I restarted Firefox without thinking and even though the session was restored the majority of the text for this topic was lost.

Post the themes and extensions that you use, provided that you're using browser{s} that support such luxuries, and discuss them. Also ask Acrio why he doesn't use Pimpzilla.

In Firefox I have tried pretty much every single popular theme there is, with a large assortment of unpopular ones. Blue Ice is the only one that's stuck so far. As for my extensions...

The eternal

- Adblock Plus with Filterset.G Updater. Up until I typed this message out, I thought it said Adapter...
- NoScript. It seems to slow me down more than anything, but I keep it around.
- Flashblock. Like NoScript, it inconveniences more than it services. It's currently disabled, but I have the on/off icon on standby up top.
- Fasterfox. I don't even know if it makes a difference anymore.
- Download Statusbar. I'm sure most if not all of you know about it.
- Active Stop Button! Since I jumped ship I missed The Eternal Stop Button, and this add-on makes me feel complete.
- SmoothWheel. Seems to have vanished from addons.mozilla and the latest version on mozdev is acting incompatible.
- Tab Mix Plus. Haven't touched it in a long time and have since forgotten exactly how much it improved my, uh, "browsing experience".

Things I don't use too often

- IETab. Used to find it pretty useful, but now I can't remember the last time I touched it.
- FireFTP. When I just want to do a quick upload, download or deletion then I use this instead of regular FTP.
- ColorZilla. Don't really use it for anything productive, but it's nice to have sitting there.
- translator.

Things that are sitting there just in case the need arises

- ChatZilla. Hasn't even been mouseovered yet, let alone clicked.
- UnPlug. Supposed to be the best there is when it comes to dealing with embedded media. Guess I'll find out someday.
- Stop Autoplay. Rarely seen these days, if at all, but I spotted it while browsing and snapped it up anyway.
- Broadband Speed Test and Diagnostics. Saw it once and was all hey, what the hey.
- DOM Inspector. Haven't touched it, haven't removed it. Goes here.

Oh, and I've had ieSpell lying around for a few years. Only used it about five times, but it's there.

I recall making a topic like this not too long ago and it failing miserably. Let's see how this one goes.

-FFXI Skillchain Tool
-FFXI Finder
-Vana'diel Clock
-ColorfulTabs(for the hell of it)
-WellRounded
-Fission
-1-Click Weather
-DownThemAll!
-Download Statusbar (REALLY nice as it eliminates that annoying popup download manager)
-Long Titles
-VideoDownloader
To the search bar I've added:
D20srd.org's search tool
IMDB's search tool
Wikipedia's search tool

I use Glassier for my Firefox theme.

As for Firefox,

Adblock
Adblock Filterset.G
Card Games
Dictionary Search
Disable Targets for Downloads (prevents download links opening a blank tab)
Download Embedded for piracy on sites with background music.
Duplicate Tab (this is endlessly useful)
FirefoxView (loads IE links to FF)
FireFTP
Flashblock
FocusLastSelectedTab
Forecastfox
FoxyTunes
FoxyTunes Skin - [R]evolution. It fits my Glassier theme.
Gmail Notifier
Homeland Security Threat Level
IEtab
IE View
Image Zoom
Imageshack right-click load
Minesweeper
Disable delay for installing extentions
Open Link In... menu for rightclick. Useful as hell.
Pong
Tabbrowser Preferences
TickerFox
VideoDownloader
About Firefox: Soviet Edition

That's all I have.

I use Firefox 1.5

Themes:
BlueShift - I've used this exclusively for as long as I can remember. Apparently it's no longer supported.
Fusion Alternative - I might have used this once.

Extensions:
NoScript - I don't like popups.
IE View - Some things just work better in IE
Colorzilla - Nice tool to have
Pennypacker - Because Penny Arcade's search engine sucks
Long Titles - I got this when I found out that XKCD strips are supposed to have alt text
FireFTP -My favorite FTP client
Adblock - The only reason I got this was because of the ads inside poasts
Foxmarks Bookmark Synchronizer - I'm paranoid

HSW, I used Pimpzilla for a week.

Extensions:

Like 10 for truly no reason
Download Status Bar - Totally neater and less clog-up-my-life-with-slow than the pop-up download manager
Firefox Companion for eBay - Provides a sidebar with info on bids or items I'm garbaging for money
Forecastfox - Knowledge of the outdoors without having to go there!
Foxmarks Bookmarks Synchronizer - I use multiple computers
IE Tab - Running MF Chat with no lag
Mouse Gestures - I'm lazy
Web Developer - Piles of nifty tools to help me debug while designing pages

I have one theme and it makes things iPody looking.

  • Active Stop Button. Good to have, honestly, but then, the need to use it rarely arises.
  • Adblock. Use it quite frequently on certain sites. I don't have the auto-updater for it, though, since there ARE some website which, well, I'd feel somewhat guilty if I didn't support them (even considering how paltry an addition as letting an ad load really is to their budget).
  • ChatZilla. HSW may have never touched it, but I'm using it quite frequently. Blame #srb2fun for that.
  • DOM Inspector. I'm guessing this is pretty standard, so.
  • FireFTP. Useful when I was using my Comcast webspace, but I'm shirking away from that space since I can no longer guarantee that I'll be using Comcast in the future. Seriously, we came damned close to switching to Verizon's FIOS for a while there until I pointed out to my family that, no, I can NOT update four-plus years worth of links and images that would all die the instant Comcast dropped my webspace, and no end of fancy scripts would do that for me either (unless I can either A) hack ezBoard or B) convince Comcast to let me use the webspace to have such a script, in which case the whole issue is moot). Long story short, I use Fileden for now. So.
  • Forecast Fox. Perfect? Hardly. Forecasts never are. But it's handy nevertheless.
  • Google Toolbar. Self-explanatory.
  • IE Tab. I occasionally use it to test out if things look good in IE or if the hotlinking I'm doing won't work out (since God forbid I save it to my hard-drive and upload it onto my webspace; I'm far too lazy to do all that!). Or when I'm using YTMND. Which hasn't been for a while now, actually...
  • Orbit Downloader Firefox Integration. I was trying to download videos off of DailyMotion (Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Abridged Series, to be specific, since YouTube was taking them down by the droves). It wasn't working, although the Orbit program itself was. Then the website went up, making it all moot. De-activated to spare myself from looking at unneeded options in my right-click menu all the time.
  • Talkback. Guessing this is also pretty standard.
  • So essentially, I'm not terribly decked-out. No matter, I like it how it is.

Weeeell, to tell truths I never used themes or add-ons until today (shame on me) so everything I have right now is just picking and choosing from what you guys have on your lists. The theme I use is Cobalt Firefox, but it looks too much like a Mac for me to enjoy it =/

    Add ons:

    Active Stop
Adblock Plus - ads on the forum
ColorZilla - I always used to copy and paste images to find their hex codes, but now I has technologi!
Download Status Bar - BOO Download Pop-up Window HOORAY Beer!

    - British English dictionary (because there's no such thing as American English :)).
    - DOM Inspector (because I'm developing my web authoring skills)
    - DownThemAll (because I think everyone needs at least one good download manager)
    - Fast Video Download (because Youtube isn't available offline)
    - FasterFox (because it works)
    - Firefox Companion for eBay (because it saves switching between windows)
    - Firefox Bookmarks Synchroniser (because I'm paranoid)
    - GetVideo (because it picks up most things that FVD won't)
    - MegaManager
    - Quick Locale Switcher (because I can practice my Welsh with the En-Cym setting :))
    - Video Download (because it picks up any remaining file formats)

I have a feeling this thread was influenced by my escapades in side of the chatroom!

+AdblockPlus - it removes the ads and makes my computer breathe easier
+Download Statusbar - I never did like the pop-up download window; found it pretty annoying. This am fix to the degree.
+FireFTP - haven't used this yet, but I can't even upload with IE, so wuts gon on u gaz
+Foxmarks - suggested by Acrio because my bookmarks got deleted recently =[
+PDF Download - waiting for the regular PDF viewer takes too long... this might make me wait not so much?
+ReloadEvery - Refreshes webpages constantly when you set it to. It's use to me? I have no idea. But it may be useful in the future!
+Secret Word Grabber - today's secret word is 'breakfast' AAAAAAAAAA
+Tab Effect - turns the webpages into a cube that spins when you select a new tab. Bad on the eyes and really annoying. In a cool way.
+Tab Mix Plus - Tab browsing with an added boost. It boosts my tab browsing power.
+Yahoo Toolbar - threw itself on there when installing Y!M - disabled

Plus all the games I found on the Firefox website place
    +Froggr - a DOSy looking Frogger game
+Mozteroids - Asteroids clone. Disabled because it's not very good
+PagMan - a low frame-rate Pac-Man clone made in 1999 (like probably all of these were)
+PingPong - Pong clone; disabled because it no work
    +Snake - Snake
+Xoom - overhead car racing game like Super Sprint vroom vrrom
+Xultris - Tetris with an X which makes it extreme

Plus a few inspired from this very topic - Speed Test, ColorZilla, Imageshack Right-Click, Long Titles, Translator, UnPlug

And Super Mario Bros 3 and Megaman 2 themes for novelty effect. Whitehart theme because it is tiny and pretty. But I mainly stick with the default.

    <3 me some add-ons
