hahah i know there are people out there that cant stand eurovision but did anyone watch this years? i was kinda dissapointed with it, not many really good songs (yeah i know most Eurovision songs are considered rubbish). no songs good enough to leave with and look into. this years UK one was SO much better than the past two years, its a shame he didnt perform last year, there were so many songs last year that i really liked. i think the only decent songs this year were UK's, Serbia's, Finlands and Maria's remix version of Molitva. the song i can safely say i loved the most was Armenia's. sorry, no offense Russia but Dima Bilan, eegh! i didnt like him, i think the blind singer should have won -.-. i didnt like Dima Bilan the first time i saw him (2006) when he was beaten by a bunch of hard rock monsters hahah!! and i didnt like his second song either. : p
*edit* wait there was another song that was instant win because it was pirate themed! and a great fun song to boot, proof to scooch that you can do a themed song and make it good, scooch failed, pirates pwned : ).
I was going to ask what thin the world is "Eruovision" when I decided to look it up for myself. Here's what I found...
From Wikipedia
The Eurovision Song Contest (French: Concours Eurovision de la Chanson)[1] is an annual competition held among active member countries of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).
Each member country submits a song to be performed on live television and then casts votes for the other countries' songs to determine the most popular song in the competition. Each country participates via one of their national EBU-member television stations, whose task it is to select a singer and a song to represent their country in the international competition.
So with that little blurb of information and can safely say that I have never watched 'Eruovision' before nor will ever watch it (Canadian and all)
hahaha! well if you fall into the category of people who see it as nothing more than complete cheeseyness and utter rubbish then your not missing much. ; )
i dont fall into that category, i used to think songs in eurovision were just one hit wonders, songs made just for eurovision, then you never hear from the people who sung them ever again but for some i was wrong. there are one hit wonders like last years UK band Scooch, they had split up yeeeaars ago and reformed especially to perform, and the song was utter shyte!. but there are also actual bands who perform and i find its a nice opportunity (for me anyway) to find out about foreign bands i have not heard of before.: )
Wogan is the one redeeming feature of the whole mess. The BBC has said they'll still help finance it because it's a big ratings-puller, but I wonder how big it would be if Sir Tel followed through on his threat.
I didn't watch it this year as I was all by myself and Eurovision really is something you have to watch with a bunch of folk and some snacks. I settled for Thursday's BBC3 episode of Heroes instead

yeah terry wogan makes it all the more funny, he thought quite a few of the songs were good this year.
though to be honest i dont think you missed much thise year, no men in silver suits and stars on their heads, no multilingual songs . though there were pirates : ). and a decent UK song, big shame we were at the very end of the list. wassis name the artist for this year was not at all happy and i dont blame him he was much better than scooch and daz simpson.
Heck, I actually voted this year, can't remember who for, but it was a rock one. The pirates were fantasic though, shame about the bloc voting =P
I don't really remember too much though, we were playing the Eurovision drinking game, that is, every time Wogan is sarcastic, the singers have a particularly daft or elaborate set or costume, or somebody mentions bloc voting, you take a drink.
Needless to say Wogan is now declared evil.
