The June issue of Shueisha's V Jump magazine is announcing on Wednesday that the title of the new Digimon project in Japan is Digimon Cross Wars. One of the previously revealed new Digimon partners, Shoutmon, will be the new main character's partner. Bandai's Vendor division already began soliciting accessory straps for release in Japanese capsule toy vending machines in late July.
I did love me some Digimon as a kid. That looks like the kid from the TNG series.
DIGIMON'S BACK!
Again? :
Last one aired over here on Toon Disney (now Disney XD), correct? Looks like I won't be seeing this one either. Frankly I'm more excited about the new Avatar project.

NEW WHAT
Digimon was always cool to me, I liked it more than Pokemon actually. Although the one thing I could never understand was why the kids, particularly in the 3rd and 4th series, we're always naked when transforming with their Digimon, what do Digimon not like clothes?
From what I can see, the character designs have gotten "simpler" again, like the first 4 series, and the main character has the trademark leader goggles, as usual. I guess that means Masaru/Marcus is the odd one out this time.
Does that mean Zuko will find his mommy? :O
On to Digimon. LOVE IT! 'Our War Game' is still my favorite Digimon movie and Season Two still reeks of FAIL Three was the last engaging series to me (The latter half I mean, the first half was kinda boring)!
Never liked Frontiers and Data Squad airing was as mystic as that one season of Power Rangers where they all... Mystical!?
I hope that this season won't have human kids punching Digimon on their foreheads or end up like season two other crazy shenanigans.
Yeah! It's about time!
It's been four years since "Savers" aired, I almost fought that'd be the end of it.
As a cartoon, the original Digimon was always better than Pokemon. Pokemon was great until around episode 10, then it totally dropped in narrative quality. Digimon maintained a good standard throughout its original season,
It's nice to see the return of the character design style that originated in Digimon Adventure, that lead character actually looks a lot like a cross between Tai and Davis.
If it gets a western release I hope to god that Jeff Nimoy returns adapt it into English. I always found that the western version was way better than the Japanese original. The man's a genius at taking care to preserve the original concept and format whist adding something to improve it, namely though some great gags .

TV Asahi has launched the preview website for Digimon: Xros Wars...
GAH! The Hell? And I though the name was uninspired, THIS JUST MAKES IT WORSE!
Always remember that adding an X to everything doesn't make it sound "cooler" or much more "XTREME!"

*?*
^ I rest my case!
It's got an X in the title because it's XTREME! And xtreme is spelt with an X because is AWESOME!!

So is "Xcrement" (oh snap)
...
All joking aside, in Bandai's defence, they're japanese. They've been known to play with our language and alphabet for some years with unnecessary letters and punctation. Look at CLAMPS's "xXxHolic". A title that bugs me because you don't actually pronounce any of the three 'X's. Likewise, Romeo x Juliet, Rosario+Vampire, both featuring 'and' in the tile, without so much as an Ampersand (&) in sight! And have you heard of Yuji Naka's latest creation? Called "Ivy the Kiwi?". No. Seriously. That's what its called. The Question Mark is in the title. It's been going on for a while too. In the short-lived OVA, Transformers Z, the 'Z' what used to replace the word 'Zone', the word Zone only written in Katakana above the big 'Z', furigana style.
But I don't think it's somthing to get irritated by. They're just playing with another language in a way that has nothing to do with the 'Xtreme Kool Letterz' device used to make it sound cool to kids... okay, maybe it's a little similar, but I think most of the time the Japanese can get away with it because it's mixing Japanese with English to creat a hybrid language, so there's a bit more effort and creativity gone in to it, rather than just slapping an X on because it roxorz.
Hooray! I heard about the new series a while ago. I have a rabid love of the first one, so it's nice to see some oldish character design. And the goggles are back!!
Poor excuse is poor excuse.
NONETHELESS. If it is true then I'm glad that Akiyoshi Hongo is back on as character designer (I was going to say that I enjoyed his(hers) designs on Pretty Cure, but that was Akira Inagami, even though they are very similar). Even though there is only one human character in the poster, I do expect more.
Though how many I am not so sure? It seems that the number of core members have shrinked since Digimon Adventure.
Season One had eight
Two had Six
Tamers had three
Frontier had Five
Savers has three
I mean Core members because I realized that Tamers started handing out memberships like it was Good Life Fitness.
