Howdy, folks. It's been so long I should reintroduce myself. I originally joined this place when I was 15 in 2003 - so yes, I'm 21 now. (Ignore my profile, LOLyuku.)
I'm now a British university student studying Computer Games Development - in other words, I chose to make my lifelong hobby my career. We'll see how that pans out eventually. I just finished my first year, learnt a lot, and am looking forward to having my free time destroyed by work in a few months. Or not. Anyway:
I've been gone a long time, yet coming to this forum again you wouldn't know it (unless you only read the EVC). It's been at least two years since I was here last, let alone when I slipped out of the Sonic fandom entirely. To say I missed a lot would be putting it mildly. Regarding Sonic specifically, I'm now a lapsed fan of the series - like most of you now apparently - but can't quite move on from it completely. My strongest gaming fandom these days is the Ace Attorney series, which I'm sure you all have at least heard of by now. Looking forward to Ace Attorney Investigations next year.
Lots of catching up to do, I guess. That is if anyone still remembers me, naturally... :3
No idea how long I'll be staying, reality might cut it shorter than I'd like.

You know, it's strange, because I was reading the old Sonic 2006 thread a week or two back (for the lulz) and was noticing a lot of old names I recognize that aren't here anymore. Kind of depressing. I don't know if that game burned that many forumers so badly that they would leave or what, but I think a lot of the "regulars" who have been here for nearly a decade are starting to get on in their 20s and just don't really have the time for this place as much anymore. Just mindless speculation on my part.
Anyway, I do recognize that signature and welcome you back regardless. 
I've never been much of a user here, I mostly lurked (and as such I left few marks... more interested in gathering news and watching people duke it out), but I do recognize your name from then.
It's always interesting and odd to see how a forum ages, how familiar faces leave, and how the general atmosphere changes. I feel old thinking about it. Like you said though, most of us are lapsed fans but still, this site helped me get news and pass time. Shame though, I lurked on this site for a long time before then, and I only worked up the nerve to start an account years later.

"Boss Velotix" did not exist in 2003. I switched to that around 2005 or so. I got sick of having a nubby username. Cookies of Proness to whoever remembers my original username and can drag up an ancient sig as proof. o/
I realised after I posted this that my second username was probably not as well known as my first and wondered how many people would actually remember me because of that fact. (Looks like I needn't have worried. ) Since then though, you'll see this username show up in many places if you dare to pop it into Google as I've stuck with it for years now (and I have no idea what a Google search on my username will bring up so you have been warned in advance).
