I never said you didn't have the right to. 😛 I just said it was bandwagoning to join a thread full of Bush/Republican/Conservative/Etc bashing and...bash them.
I'm just curious about why you debated speaking up about the backlash and misquoting, but decided to join the bandwagon instead.
I was more interested in getting my non-bandwagon opinion posted before I got sick of the reply page (see PSX's topic) or it got buried, and lawyerly read the complaints I found over the top and predicted what people's reasons or explanations might be. Not that I'm excusing it.
You could say you paved the way for me to speak up.
They're in, from Gallup: http://www.gallup.com/pol...-Starts-Job-Approval.aspx
Thumbs up: 68%. Thumbs down: 12%. No thumbs: 21%.
Not surprising to me. Not surprising to me at all.
I missed seeing your sweet, sweet posts, Rishi.
Also I heard Sasha and Malia are popular with the kids.
Thumbs up: 68%. Thumbs down: 12%. No thumbs: 21%.
My first thought was "21% of americans have no thumbs?!"
Also Vec; you got me. The picture just made me laugh my head off and you're right 😀
Approval rating for what...? He's hardly even done anything yet. I'm more interested in his approval rating in 4 years, or probably 8 years.
It's how it was phrased...
If you have any ideas that are good for America, then may you succeed at implementing them.
Otherwise, I hope *you* fail.
It didn't say 'your policies' though, it was directly stating 'I hope YOU fail' - which essentially can be misinterpreted as a direct wish for him to fail.
That's pretty much what people are up in arms about!
People shouldn't have jumped to conclusions just because of the wording, though. He was saying he hopes Obama fails to implement the policies; as in, the policies he later said he thought would be inherently damaging to the US.
Anyway, Vec, how exactly is Bush in particular "trying to make Earth uninhabitable"? I've heard some policies of his are bad for the environment, but so are the policies of other leaders; (and actions of everyday people; ie. choosing to drive instead of taking public transit) what makes Bush in particular so much worse in that regard than everyone else?
EDIT: And Trudi, what picture are you talking about?
The "I'm Sorry I can't hear you" one on the previous page. I've just taken a while to respond to it.
I wouldn't want any leader of any nation to fail his/her nation. Because people look up to their leaders.
But when Ultra essentially said: I do hope he fails because he isn't the guy I wanted to win. It has a general bandwagon effect. How I read it is: I hope my country really goes down the ****ter. My reply to that is that it already is. Most of us are!
I mean I've got a choice between an One eyed Scotsman and an Eton bred Toff in the next UK election. One has gotten us into a lot of debt and the other, I have no idea what they have planned. Still I hope neither fails, because we actually need someone to make the country better.
