Prologue:
The Mobius Forum World is a planet in a dimensional plane similar to our own. Located at a convenient nexus between parallel universes, the Mobius Forum World is a place full of adventure and wackiness. The capital city of the planet is Sega City, a beautiful place where the urban environment is tempered with crisscrossing rivers and lush parks. Here people from worlds across the Multiverse co-exist peacefully...most of the time.
Conflict is not new to the Mobius Forum World; it is almost the norm for some villainous foe to rise up and attempt to take over Sega City for their own twisted purposes. But heroes always rise to the challenge and restore peace to Sega City. The world itself maintains this balance through the power of the Figment Keys, the power objects that make the world through the imagination of those who live in it.
Today is a day like most; a peaceful, yet exciting day in the city. But what is normal becomes extraordinary through a simple twist in time that leads to one of the most ferocious battles for the freedom of the world since it first began.
--------
Springtime dawn broke out over Sega City, the sun gleaming in the mirrored skyscraper windows. But the sun had not beaten anyone up; the city was already alive with the activity of those who rose before the end of night. And included in this category was Justin Hobbes, who was in the middle of his daily jogging regimen as he moved down the street in his green sweats. The morning air was clean and pure, and already warming up from the sun's rays. He passed by planted trees in bloom, an array of colored flowers budding on their leafy branches.
It didn't take long for Justin to reach his destination: the corner of Central Square Park, where an anthropomorphic poodle wearing a red-and-white striped shirt just finished setting up a hot dog stand, his shirt matching the umbrella set up over the meat-cooking mobile cart. "Right on time, as usual," chuckled the poodle in a light Brooklyn accent as he leaned on the cart with one arm and tipped his red fez to Justin. "So what'll it be today, Justin?"
The expectant human licked his lips in anticipation of his mid-jog morning meal. "I think I'm finally ready to give that spicy relish chili a try, Frank."
Frank slipped on some gloves and pulled a bun from the warming compartment in the cart, then took a pair of metal tongs and used them to procure a large, juicy hot dog. He laid it carefully into the bun, and took a red jar and a spoon and layered the dog with a zesty combination of diced pickles and red peppers. "If you didn't wake up yet, this'll do the trick!"
Justin brushed back his brown bangs and reached for the offered hot dog with one hand while handing over a few rings with the other. The soft bun gave under the pressure of his fingers as he brought the succulent-smelling meat to his opening mouth, and he bit into the hot dog.
Then the world shattered.
Everything around Justin flip-flopped colors, as if it had become a negative photograph. The blue sky turned a murky brown, the few fluffy clouds became forebodingly gray, and the grass in the park nearby was lavender, with the trees displaying ice blue leaves in their yellow branches. Frank looked shocked and tried to yelp, his shirt and the cart umbrella matching colors of alternating teal and black. But the sound coming out of his mouth came out backwards, and Justin wondered if his mind had snapped. He couldn't even taste the hot dog because all his taste buds told him was "purple." Which didn't make any sense, but that was what he tasted. Purple. It filled his vision, his lungs, his mind...
Everything was purple.
And then everything went into rewind, the purple fading back to the reversed colors and then back to normal. Justin withdrew the hot dog from his mouth and handed it back to Frank, who magically pulled the relish off the hot dog and back into the jar before meticulously replacing everything in the cart. Justin felt himself thinking and jogging backward, yet something in his mind told him this was wrong, things didn't go backwards like-
It didn't take long for Justin to reach his destination: the corner of Central Square Park, where an anthropomorphic poodle wearing a red-and-white striped shirt just finished setting up a hot dog stand, his shirt matching the umbrella set up over the meat-cooking mobile cart. "Right on time, as usual," chuckled the poodle in a light Brooklyn accent as he leaned on the cart with one arm and tipped his red fez to Justin. "So what'll it be today, Justin?"
The expectant human licked his lips in anticipation of his mid-jog morning meal. But something in his mind nagged at him as he said, "I'll just have my usual, Frank."
"You sure you don't want to try the spicy relish? If you aren't awake yet, it'll do the trick!"
Justin blinked. "But I already tried the-" And he caught himself. HAD he tried the relish? Why was he getting a sense of deja vu? Then he shrugged; he didn't have the answers to everything. "Maybe tomorrow, Frank."
Frank prepared a hot dog with mustard and ketchup. "You've said that every day for the last month!"
Justin took the hot dog and handed Frank a few rings. "Guess we'll see what tomorrow brings. See you later."
And so Justin jogged off with his hot dog, wondering why things seemed different all the way back to his apartment.

At a local construction site, the workers arrived and began complaining at once - the work they had done over the past few days was completely gone, as if it had never been done. The foreman and the project manager went over the details again and again, but the blueprints indicated that the work should have been done. But since it hadn't, it had to be done all over again.
Companies around the city had minor data crashes when trying to pull up data from the past week. These crashes often involved flashing screens with the letter "K" on them.
Lawrence Cartleby found his car keys that had been lost for nearly three days. They were on the counter right where he remembered putting them, even though he could have sworn they weren't there before.
In short, the entire world underwent a space/time shift that turned back time for a few days. Though the date was the same as before the shift, work that had been completed during that time period had vanished or suffered from heavy glitches or mistakes. Fortunately, nothing of true value was destroyed or lost during the process, and though the next few hours were vexing for some, life would return back to normal shortly. Sure, the very foundation of reality had been shaken for a moment, but then it was back to things as usual.
Or was it?
-------
Deep in space, an entire fleet of starships appeared in a flash and floated with deceptive passivity. Their icy surfaces gleamed white and blue, each ship sharp and angular. Gun ports glowed frosty blue as white running lights blinked along the large ships.
Aboard the flagship, on the command deck, all of the lights were dimmed, swathing the lone figure in darkness as she sat in her wombcouch. Gelatinous substances swirled slowly around her as they communicated readouts directly to her mind at computer speeds, letting her stay in command of the entire fleet simultaneously. Nothing any ship did escaped her notice; she was queen of the fleet, and it was hers.
The long-range sensors of the fleet detected a planet appearing where there had been none before. This was peculiar, but she had seen many strange things during the fleet's travels, and she did not register surprise. Emotion was a thing foreign to her, something hotbloods did that didn't matter. The newly-appeared planet may have been using a stealth field that, for whatever reason, had been just shut down. Whatever the case, it was now the nearest planet to the fleet, and that meant it was their next target.
"This is Archon Permafrost to all ships in the Frozen Fleet," she announced. "We are heading to the newly-detected planet immediately. Scans indicate hotblood population presence; we will be facing action. Deploy icesteroids to establish beachheads on the planet, and began cryogenesis procedures when all icesteroids have landed. General Heartcease will lead the ground forces. Let us claim another world for the Frizonian Empire."
She ended the announcement; her troops knew what to do. She watched the icesteroids launched, shining like comets as they headed toward that distant planet. The Frozen Fleet engaged their cold fusion engines, a technology only possible to a race that lived at subzero temperatures, and they followed the icy trail that the icesteroids blazed.

"This is Yours Truly, on the scene with Big News Channel 3!" beamed the ever-cheerful pink-furred vixen news reporter as she stood in front of a crater that laid in the middle of an apartment complex in the Residential District of Sega City. Steam poured from the crater as curious bystanders got closer, and police were just barely arriving on the scene. The remaining buildings formed a perimeter around the wide crater, tall apartment buildings that were shoddily maintained. The cement pathway between the buildings was cracked, and much of the grass had scorched from the initial impact.
"Just a few minutes ago, a giant comet entered the atmosphere and crashed right into the middle of Wally Weasel's Cape Condo Complex! Astrologists are stunned that the comet not only survived entry into the atmosphere, but that they weren't able to see it on its approach until it was already coming down from the sky. Though nobody was living in the condos at the time due to them being shut down by the Sega City Department of Health for excessive infestations of newbie eaters, the damage is still incredible. And there's white smoke everywhere, so it may be hard to-"
"Steam."
"Excuse me?" Miss Truly blinked blankly at one of the bystanders, a mole with rolled up sleeves and a visor cap on his head.
"It's steam, not white smoke," pointed out the mole. "I'm an engineer, I know these things."
"Okay, whatever you say." Miss Truly turned back to the camera with a winning smile. "And we'll be right back after these-"
Beams of pure white energy crackling with blue sparks lanced out from the steamy crater, and bystanders struck by the beams were encapsulated in thick, translucent ice. The police stood their ground as the rest of the civilians scattered, and Miss Truly and her camera man hid behind a police car as they watched the carnage unfold. "We are under attack! Something in the crater is attacking us! Wait, something is coming out of the white smoke!"
"Steam!" cried the mole with clenched fists upraised, and he froze in that position as another beam zapped him, the cracking of rapidly-forming ice piercing the air.
Humanoid figures stepped out of the steam, leveling strange guns tipped with pointed icy crystals that fired frosty beams. They wore bulky-looking space suits with white armor and reflective bubble visors, and their entire color scheme was white and blue. One of the alien troopers, with black-marked shoulders, called out above the noise of energy rays and police gunfire. His voice was warbly and cold, like warping ice. "Continue shock troop operations," he said coolly. "Show the hotbloods the folly of fighting against the Frizonian Empire. Thus says Hoplite Icepick!"
More of the soldiers poured out of the crater, and the police were overrun by the tall, gangly creatures with their strange snowsuits and freeze rayguns. "Administrator Vector, this is Sergeant Prickle with an SOS!" shouted a gray-quilled echidna as he fired his police-issue handgun while dashing, using a headset communicator. "Aliens are using freeze rays! We need backup! We need backup!"

This is the beginning of...
OOC: Okay, for those of you joining, welcome to the new Group Mission! I'll repeat here the rules I covered in the other thread as well as clarify some things:
- Please start with only one character to begin with; you may add more, if you like, after a certain point in the GM. At that same point would be a good time to drop if you feel unable to keep up with the GM or otherwise have circumstances that prevent you from continuing in it.
- Keep power levels at approximately "superhero." This level allows for super powers, but godmodding/powerplaying or extremely high-powered characters will not be allowed.
- You do not have to have a character with powers, but be aware that there will be combat in this RP with an organized, trained enemy force. There will be other opportunities for roleplaying beyond combat, however, so make sure your characters have personalities whether they have powers or not.
- I will be running this GM. Please bring any concerns, whether with other players or with the plot, to me, and I'll help. I will also be steering the plot at times. I may add new rules later if required; but my most important goal will be to help everyone have a fun time with this story.
- Remember, the story comes first! Have fun.
You may now begin posting!
(hope this is right...)
The feel of cold asphalt of a alley benethe his head, Oliander began to stir. "Hmm" he croked "How, odd i-" he stops mid-scentence as he sat himself up, his eyes adjusting to the dim of the alley, before him lay not the cobblestone streets of london, but somthing else. He swears under his breath "And I was so close..." he finishes with a sigh. he stands up, brushing the dust off his coat. "This is most certanly not the london i know" he says wile checking the small box hidden under his coat. He checks its contents. "good" he thinks "its still safe." "Maby this is for the best" he says as he walks down the alley towards the street.
OOC: Despite my reseverations before, I'll give this rp a try, if only for your fantastic and engrossing first post, Terg. I'm not going to post a character profile, as like I've said before, I feel any and all relevant information on a character should be made clear in the rper's post itself.
Enough rambling, onto the ICing:
IC:
Whilst the world as a whole moved on quite comfortably, with minor disturbances despite the space/time shift that turned back progress the last few days, Ash was in the minority of people who were genuinely angry by such a thing. He was a comic book artist and on an incredibly tight deadline; the that fact that he had lost 3 days work was not acceptable whatsoever. All that hard work was lost and it simply meant he'd have to spend even more time trying to complete the project again.
He reclined in his seat, sighing loudly as he brushed his mangy unkempt hair out of his eyes, trying to calm down and deliberate how he was going to achieve this mind numbing goal. His clothes was ragged and dirty, and he was in dire need of a shower. Perhaps that would calm him down and allow him to collect his thoughts. He could really go for a nice relaxing wash, a change of clothes, perhaps even get some fresh air... but his work refused such an opportunity. Alas...
Ash switched the television on as he went to prep his shower. He thought the least he could was try to multitask- see what the lastest news was as he washed.
He hadn't even had the time to step into the shower when a strange series of noises emanated from his television. A set of screams and cries for help amongst a whole sleuth of stranger noises that Ash couldn't quite understand. He walked closer to the television, to see what was going on, and found the last remaining vestages of Yours Truly's live newsfeed and the arrival of some utterly bizarre beings doing who knows what.
Ash sighed again. He really was overworked and needed some rest. He must have been seeing things. Forget about the work and deadline- right now what he needed was that shower and then a good long rest. Maybe then in the morning he'd have his head sorted.
The rush of white and blue - alien humanoids, bearing the colors of endless sky and untouchable clouds with a frigid taint - emerged from the steam, unleashing an assault of frost upon the nearest denizens.
From a forty-story hotel, a blue hedgehog watched in silence.
A tattered red cape fluttered in the wind, his khakis and black tank top suddenly feeling inadequate for the weather (and it was supposed to be in the lower 90s today...). Classic red sneakers, based off a Cobalt design discovered in Segan ruins long ago by the initial explorers of the Mobius Forum World, tapped impatiently against the granite stone as more and more aliens emerged. An adamantium arm reflected sunlight that suddenly seemed lacking when it came to warmth. Green eyes narrowed at the sight of the cloud that emerged from his mouth.
Inhale.
Exhale. A cloud.
"Dang. It got cold in a hurry."
Ultra Sonic 007 - usually called Ultra or Ultra Sonic these days, as his '007' wardrobe didn't quite exist anymore - stared at the melee below. Soon enough, other forumers would arrive. Maybe a few Moderators. Perhaps an Admin? Maybe not an Admin...unless these guys show heavier weaponry.
The time distortion had escaped his notice. The feelings of deja vu were chalked up to Redley's ever-eminent presence in his mind...though the assassin was being rather quiet as of late.
That was good. Perhaps he'd be able to partake in a good old-fashioned battle of good guys-vs.-bad guys without his intervention for a change!
I would not interfere with this battle, even if you feel I would.
Speak of the devil.
Ultra sighed at the cold voice of his alter ego. Please, don't try and interfere.
I was not joking.
Eh? But I thought this might have been your kind of thing.
An irritated grunt. I fought bounty hunters, assassins, deadly creatures, and Jedi back on the Archie Star Forum World. Masters of the Force...are deadly. One particular opponent used its omnipresent might to literally withdraw all thermal energy from a particular location, reducing objects to absolute zero temperature.
...huh. Neat.
These invaders are armed with weapons that fire 'freeze rays'. Child's play compared to previous opponents. I have no interest...but should you find yourself in a tight spot, I WILL intervene. And I won't be happy.
With so many people around, I'm likely to get help from other people anyway. Though some might not be too happy to see me after the incident at the Cosmic Canyon ruins. Redley, during the events of that particular exposition, had sided with Stahlmansche over Justin Hobbes - aka, Tergonaut - and his companions. Tergonaut was one thing - their little 'talk' had sort of smoothened things out, kind of, maybe, sorta - but the others were iffy. Oh well, that was their problem. It wasn't HIS fault he had an assassin for an alter ego. Kind of. Maybe. It was a long story.
These creatures do not interest me. Should something unknown emerge...perhaps I will venture forth on my own.
That's how it always is.
Silence.
Ultra sighed as he stood. This was his life now; he could only live the best he could, knowing that he was an active merchant of death. No amount of pretending would erase that...so for the time being, he could only live. Today's friend might be tomorrow's target...and for Redley, it all came down to the right price...and the challenge. "Well, that's enough thinking. Time to get busy." The blue hedgehog gripped his laser blaster - fashioned after a black Colt automatic pistol - in his right hand, still flesh and bone. A manic grin crossed his face; back to the battle against evil.
Damned if it didn't always give him a bit of a thrill.
"Alright, let's do this!"
Feet blurred, and he ran down the side of the building. A sonic boom erupted as he dashed into the fray.
OOC:
Ooh, sounds like fun.
IC:
The bright orange glow of the morning sun poured through the windows of one of the hotels situated in Sega City. Inside one of the rooms, a lavender hedgehog began to stir. Kayla crawled out of her bed and slipped on her yellow boots. With a yawn, she walked over to the window and began to open it. Not two seconds later, she shut the window with a slam.
"Primus, it's freezing out there!" she exclaimed, with a shiver, "It never gets this cold in Sega City."
She turned back towards the window and heard the screams coming from the residential district.
'Sounds like trouble,' she thought.
She mentally cursed.
'Dead End just had to take his vacation now, didn't he? Oh, well. Guess I'll have to check this out without him.'
She pulled out her fusion cannon from underneath her mattress. She charged it up briefly and was satisfied when it began to whine with power.
'Excellent. Time to go see what the trouble is this time.'
She mentally steeled herself for the cold and headed for the landing site.
OOC: Will post a profile later...
IC:
Usually...super fast weather changes might have been...you know, predicted by those weathermen. Lena sat on the edge of a small branch, clutching her arms, not at all prepared for the cold snap. "Man...maybe I made a mistake by coming here. Unless cold snaps like this are--"
Her thoughts were interrupted when she thought she could hear something akin to gunfire. Well it didn't sound exactly like gunfire but it sounded like it had been shot off from something. She spun around and off in the distance could see beams of white energy, sprinkled with blue sparks, shooting in the air.
Well that was a first. She shivered again and thought about flying off to her home and to her warm bed but...there were those beams. Where were they coming from? And who had shot them off? She looked again off in the direction where her place would be but something else told her to look into the beams. At least in her small, tiny form, she figured she could avoid being spotted and stay out of trouble. She hopped off the branch and began to fly off in the direction of the beams.
It didn't take too long, perhaps she had flown a bit faster to keep warm but as she neared the location, she could see strange people in even stranger outfits, shooting off their strange weapon at people standing around. Each time a shot hit, the person became trapped in a thick cube of ice. Lena floated over to a bush not too far from the skirmish, a bit shocked and confused as to what was happening. Why were these strange people attacking, what did they want? "I...can't fight those guys...I better get away from here..."
A loud shot rang out and she jumped in surprise, breaking her concentration. She transformed back to regular size and crashed to the ground. Just as she hit the ground, she could feel the air above her back grow very cold. One of those creepy guys had shot in her direction...as if they had known she was there earlier. If curiousity killed the cat, she had to think of something fast. Her little dagger would be of no use and if they had noticed her even while she was tiny, what now?
OOC: This is definitely different, and I will oh so try to keep up.
IC:
"HEY!" Two fists slam on the bar table. On the stool sat a red anthro-hedgehog. In one of his shaking hands is a bottle of beer, about half full, and a crack has formed from his tight grip. Looking up to his face, you could see his teeth clenched shut, his eyes focused on the television set above, which showed only a black screen, along with a high pitched squeal.
The bar went quiet. It was still quite early in the day, so few seats were filled today. Everyone, however, just stared at the blank screen, their jaws dropped in awe and disbelief. The barkeep was frozen solid from shock, his hand pulling down on a lever to a tap, the beer running down into the glass, now pouring over from the lack of attention he has on his current surroundings. Besides the hedgehog's silence breaking bark, the only audible noise was the beverage running onto the bar's hardwood floor.
"What the hell was that we just saw!?" His voice cracked on the upward emphasis of his question; the complete horror had penetrated his calm demeanor. Turning to the right, there was no one to answer. It was too empty to actually have people sitting at tables or in booths. He turns to his left, to see two other guys also staring blankly at the screen. The reports of the attack still fresh in their minds from just seconds earlier, before everything just went black after a couple of shrieks and calls for backup were all heard over the TV speaker. "Anyone?! Answer me," he barks, and all he can get is the barkeep, slowly shaking his head, eyes still glued to the screen.
A frustrated grunt is heard, followed by the shattering of glass. The hedgehog's beer bottle now non-existent, just shards of glass laying below his clenched fist, all of his strength poured out through the pure frustration and confusion to what his eyes just witnessed; through a quiet rage, he had crushed the bottle in his tight grip. Kicking up and off of his stool, he turns gives haste towards the exit, only to stop midway, turn back, slam a couple of bucks on the bar table, and jolts towards the exit.
"Ey, Jin!" Calls out the barkeep. Wait a sec! Where the hell y'think you're goin'?!" The hedgehog stops at the door, his hand already placed on the frame. His head leans back.
"Getting the hell out of here." Jin stops and turns to face the barkeep, now finally making some eye contact. "If I were you, I'd do the same."
While his words ring true, his own advice he does not heed, for as he runs off from the bar, he dashes towards the direction of the chaos previously reported.
I should turn around, are the thoughts going through his head. I'm rusty as all hell. I haven't even seen combat in years, let alone trained a single finger. What the hell am I thinking?! Yet his own words did nothing to his body, as it continued its path forward. His rationality had been broken. Sega City can defend itself, he's never had to intervene. Why get close?
Jin's brow furrows. It's not like he's never gotten close before, just to get a look. It's what has happened for years in this city. Today would be no different. But, he thought, what little I saw earlier sure as hell creeped me the hell out!
{Mobius Springheart - Investigative Agency and Attorney at law - 12:45PM}
"Hot damn it...where the hell is my file?"
The eagle was looking rapidly around the room for something he'd been working on since the day before, a small piece of work that had been on the to-do list for at least a week, and he'd only just about gotten round to doing the night before...but try as he might, there simply was no clue to it's whereabouts, let alone where the remainder of his paperwork from the night before had gone to.
He sure as heck hadn't done anything with it, bar put it in a pile on his desk the night before, but now...it was all gone.
" Damn strange, I'm SURE I stuck it out here...I'd ask the secretary where it was...iiiif I had one. " He mutters, slumping into his office chair and giving a deep sigh of bleh - he was too crappy for this right now.
He flicked on the TV, and caught the last images of the Yours Truly broadcast...and froze in his chair at the sight: He wasn't overly sure what the heck was going on to begin with, but he was sure of one thing - whatever was going on, it looked like one heckuva Stunt.
" Pah, TV PR - they'll do anything for ratings...Never was a fan of that Miss Truly, always so pompous and stuck up in that snotty show of hers... "
He smirked, knocking back the last swig of cooling coffee in the mug beside him, exclaiming a quick smacking of lips as he enjoyed the dark bitterness of the fluid.
Damn, it was cold today...what the heck was that about? He shivered lightly in the chair, before standing up to turn the radiator on...
Strange - wasn't the broadcast for sun and little else today...?
Something just kinda nagged the back of his mind, almost as though there was something trying to connect the mental dots that lingered there - but in all honesty, he didn't have a damned clue why.
Before going to sit back down, he poured himself another hot cup of dark Javaffee - letting the hot mug in his hands share the warmth it held with him.
Something felt off about today, he concluded - Big time off...but right now, it wasn't something he was about to go chasing for himself.
Mokat checked the vise to make sure the 4"x2" piece of steel was held securely. Satisfied, she turned on the drill press and gently pulled down on a large lever. The spinning drillbit touched down on the spot that had previously been center-drilled and was cutting through the steel block when suddenly everything changed color! The gray feline instinctively pressed the emergency stop button on the drill and noticed that it was dark green instead of bright red. Before she could say "What the...?!" she smelled profanity. It seemed to come from upstairs.
Annoyed, the gray feline wondered what the Smurf her Dark Magician and/or his apprentice were doing up there. She assumed that one of their spells had backfired, but then something -really- strange happened; she felt an ominous vibe as everything went into rewind. The drill press came on and spun in reverse, the bit rose, MoKat's paw moved to the on switch, the press stopped. When the weirdness stopped, MoKat blinked and stared at the empty vise. "What the smell just happened?"
A purple cloud of smoke formed nearby, and MoKat's Dark Magician stepped out of it. "That's what
-I'd- like to know. This doesn't seem like the usual weirdness."
The electric-blue haired feline blinked her orange eyes at the purple-robed mage.
"Uh...so you had nothing to do with this?"
MDM frowned. "Of course not! I was working on a scroll for the past day and now I have nothing to show for it!"
MoKat looked at the vise again; she could have sworn that she had a piece of steel in there. She mentally shrugged and commented, "Hrmm, that explains why I smelled your cussing."
The mage eyed the feline curiously. "Smelled? Don't you mean 'heard'? I doubt your sense of smell is good enough to -smell- my profanity."
She gave him an odd look and replied, "That's strange...I could have sworn I -smelled- your profanity instead of hearing it.
MDM gave her a skeptical look and said, "Well, what did it smell like?"
MoKat shot a disgusted look at him and replied, "Awful. Worse than the time you cast 'Cloudkill' with your butt." She mentally went through a list of known pranksters and/or sources of chaos and played a hunch. "Have you been flirting with Sailor Evil again?"
The Magician shook his head. "No. Besides, this doesn't seem like her flavor of chaos. Shallwe ask around and see if other people have been experiencing the same sort of thing?"
"Eh, maybe later. I wanna finish a project I started." the feline replied as she looked through a rack of steel stock, in search of a block that was as close to 4" x 2" as possible.
-----------------
sometime later...
-----------------
A female voice shouted, "Professor! MoKat! Come see this!"
"Don't call me 'Professor'!" MDM shouted back as he flew through the halls to see what had alarmed his apprentice. When he reached the rec. room, he saw Trixie and MoKat in front of the TV. The last part of Miss Truly's broadcast was playing out on the screen.
"Those creatures remind me of Frost Atronachs..." mused MoKat as she digested what had just happened.
"Whatcha wanna bet those aren't Daedra?" the purple-haired mage quipped as he studied the images.
Mokat looked at both magicians and said, "You guys guard the Flophouse while I'm gone."
Before either one could ask, "Where are you going?" the feline had teleported out of the room.
Hrm...freeze rays >> Why do I smell a ton of ice puns z_z I'll post profile later, as right now, I can't really side with evil or good yet.

Prior to the shift
Wheezing sounds echoed in the hallowed halls where life once stood. They began softly at first, but soon grew to a fever pitch. Even as they echoed throughout the walls, there was no one there to investigate, no one there to lend a hand to the mass on the floor. Streaks of blue lined the thinly painted walls, dripping along predetermined paths to the old and well rotten wood boards. The wood itself seemed to drink up the fluid, aiding in the continued hiding of any evidence that anything ever lived here.
The wheezing stopped after a moment, and the mass on the floor rolled over, revealing even more bluish fluid lying about. What could be made out as a hand finally reached up-the fluid running down the subtle creases and curves. As if reaching for a bar, a knob, anything to help raise himself up off the ground, DL stretched his arm to the utmost limit.
Nothing. Not even a breeze to alert him that he was still alive. Arm fell back above his head, and eyes finally opened, ice blue eyes that seemed to lose all sense of hope and dignity for the world. All the power in the world was in his hands, and she stole it away! She betrayed him..and now he was left here to die.
A moment's time would elapse..before hand and arm would raise back up, reaching for anything in the sky to grab. While the core mind began to relive the moments in reverse...the subconscious entity left noticed and watched with fear.
"Wait...Why are we moving backwards? What's going on? We shouldn't be crawling into this dilapidated building! Stop moving Derek, your wound! No don't don't stand up...no don'--you can't fly backwards! What in teh hec--"
Ryan's connection to the body he now lived within was suddenly severed, as time seemed to stop and go at its own pace, space bending around him tot eh point where any synapsal interpretation was at a loss for description. The cerebral cortex was unable to process any of this information by itself, but with a split subconscious, Ryan felt that maybe, just maybe, he could make a relatively unused portion of the brain objectively remember everything that happened as it went backwards, akin to watching a movie in reverse without the sound on.
And so, Ryan watched, as the events that led to DL lying in the hallway of a condemned building were to be reversly relived once more.
=== 26 min after the shift==
Eyes as cold as night in Antarctica glared at anything or anyone that moved too close to him. The patrons of this city were a curious lot, and he would not mind allowing them a moments time with him, so they could soon learn the true meaning of fear. But as DL somberly walked through the streets of Sega City, his path in life would once again fall within the way of those that loved their city. Eyes turned their gaze skyward, as a glint caught his eye. At first, it did not seem to make any sense, there was an invisible spot moving toward the ground. A moment more allowed DL to register that the color he was viewing was the exact same as his eyes, only this object was about a million times larger.
And it was headed directly for the ground. Vertical ascension was immediate, and DL soon towered over the buildings in the area, as the meteor crashed down upon the planet with no remorse for those that lived in the area. He silently watched the ants, their curiosity toward was seemed to be a enormous ball of unknown ability, seemingly rightfully theirs by some unwritten rule.
Interest was peaked when the rays began to fly, powerful blasts that immediately reduced the thermal energy to near nil in a concentric path for as long as the initial blast could be carried...or until the blast hit an offending object that carried more than enough thermal energy to partially cancel out the effectiveness of the blast-hence encasing them in a sheet of ice. As the ants fled, Dl began to lower back toward the sidewalk.
"...They'll be here soon. All walks of life. Maybe we should allow ourselves to get involved..See just how much people have ....changed."
It was almost an amusing scenario. It just so happened to be Kaze's day off from her work at the junk shop. Everything from the inventory check to the deliveries from the past few days had all been taken care of, so the chao could sit back and relax and binge on fruit cups and watch while Pikku, CSR, and Saya went out to the arcade.
Then it happened. For a moment, everything seemed to suddenly slow to a stop and change to some weird colors, then stop. Then it started to go backwards, starting with a fruit cup she had just picked up was now being put back onto the top shelf in the fridge. Then the chao pushed the door closed and began hovering backwards towards the coffee table she had been sitting at before. When everything was normal again, Kaze found herself staring into the fruit cup she'd just finished eating.
"Huh? What's going on?"
Next was the sudden cold draft coming from a window Kaze swore wasn't open before. Upon taking a closer look, Kaze paused. In the distance, probably somewhere in the middle of the city, steam was slowly and steadily rising into the sky. That was just about when Miss Truly's broadcast started playing on the television behind her. Closing the window, Kaze stared back at the TV intently. She'd seen a lot of weird things in this world, but never before had she seen an alien invasion like this one.
In any case, it was either Sailor Wind's sixth sense starting to rub off on her, or she had the distinct feeling that something horrible was going to happen, something much bigger that what was playing out in front of her sky blue eyes. Without a moment of hesitation, she hastily grabbed a piece of paper and the nearest pencil and scribbled out a note, then sped out of the living room, grabbing her sword, which was in its sheath hanging on a hook just to the right of the front door.
She immediately headed for the garage and straight for the Chao Walker sitting on the other side of the slightly disorganized room. Pushing a button on the nearby wall to open the garage door, Kaze opened the cockpit to the mech and hopped inside, strapping herself into the seat and tapping another button or two on the control panel to activate all its systems.
At once, a holographic screen appeared in front of her displaying various images of the chao-shaped mech with various messages being displayed as it ran a brief diagnostic. Once the all-clear beep sounded, Kaze steered the Walker forward into a run, taking advantage of its speed to quickly move out from the driveway and down the street of Angel Island Drive.
Something told her she had to get down there as soon as possible...
Mobius eventually got fed up of sitting around like a dead melon, not when he had that damned nagging sensation in the back of his mind playing the role of a maddening splinter in his psyche...
Grabbing his hat, and a small bag of some handy things, he opens the door - cool to the touch, he noted - and headed out towards the frosting atmosphere of the hallway outside.
And something immediately struck him as odd...and not just how damn cold it was out here.
" Huh...deserted... "
The office was located in a small apartment block in one of MFW's busiest locations, used to being full of the hustle and bustle of life and insane ramblings of various TV's turned up far too loud. Today, it was quiet - save for the one or two people who seemed far too preoccupied with keeping warm up here than anything else - but there was a hint of a slow-burning fear in their eyes, like something felt as off to them as it did with him.
For the first time since he'd seen that Broadcast, he felt a lot more uncomfortable with what seemed to be an uncertain situation - deserted hallways, a deep unsettling chill in the air that was as almost to the bone as the physical temperature of the cold that currently ran through the building, and apparently the road outside as he found himself drifting into the streets outside.
Mobius wasn't prone to bouts of uncertainty, not often - but there was something that rang creepy about this atmosphere - yeah, there were people out here...but the feel of the area was a heck of a lot more different than it should have been.
Then, something moved behind him...he whirls around, completely prepared for whatever the heck was there!
"WHO'S THERE?"
{Opportunity for somebody/something to interact - don't let it pass ya by! XD}
OOC: This is my first GM, so forgive me if I'm doing it wrong.
IC:
Hukos stood in the center of Sega City, not knowing of his own purpose. He knew that humans weren't exactly the most populous of species in this world. He could only look down at his baggy blue jeans and take a deep sigh. He felt... lonely. This emotion was nothing new, as he had felt that way since his parents were murdered in a bloody bath of unspeakable horror when he was but a child. Now, he was eighteen years of age, and even more miserable than before. Only through sheer force of will did he manage to make it through the day.
He took a sip from the local water fountain nearby, and stepped away, and had a strange sensation. After what he felt were some strange seizure-like feelings, he found himself back at the water fountain. Weird. What was going on here?
----
Hukos teleported back to an abandoned office building which he called home. He didn't know why it was deserted, but he called it home nonetheless. He had the unique ability to teleport, which normally would be awesome, but as he found out, there were many restrictions set on this ability of his. First of all, he couldn't warp to a place he had not seen himself. Secondly, warping takes out a significant amount of his own magical energies, exhausting him within a few uses of the ability.
"WHO'S THERE?"
Hukos jumped at the sound of this strange guy's voice and shouted. "It's just me! I won't hurt you!"
Who was this weird fellow doing in his home of all places? That would have to be answered shortly...
OOC: Okay, hope I did good, I decided to get involved with Mobius. Also, Terg has stated its okay for the teleporting ability, as long as I don't spam it/godmod with it.
Mobius cleared his throat, looking at the new stranger with a quick glance - just sizing him up for a moment before breathing a sigh of relief.
" Geez, I was worried there for a moment - after that weird broadcast, and the whole affair with this odd atmosphere, Things were looking like it could get really weird out here. "
Mobius stopped, and scratches at the back of his neck, before giving his trademark cocky smirk.
" Name's Mobius Springheart, and I pretty much am one of Sega City's better known investigators...who might you be, stranger?"
He rummages one hand through his pocket, pulling out a packet of Coffee-coated Coffee beans, taking a small handful out and popping them into his waiting mouth, before offering to the stranger in front of him.
" Truth be told, I'm glad to just see anyone with a degree of life out here...you notice how quiet things are around here? It's too eery for words, that's for sure! "
"The name's Hukos. I don't know my surname. I know that's weird, but its the truth. But yeah, it is eery around here. I just use this empty place for my home, since I have no other."
Hukos took the beans that were offered to him, and turned around pretending to eat them. He didn't want to be rude, but he himself didn't care for coffee beans. He hoped he didn't offend Mobius with this action.
"Well, Mobius, what are you doing here? You said you're a detective. What kind of case are you running?"
OOC: Going now. May not be back online for a couple of days, so forgive me if that happens. I'll try to get back asap.
OOC: Been a while since I've done this, but wanted to give it a try, so here goes!^^ Let me know if I mess up with anything.

IC:
A blast of cold air swept by, and Arikyrenne rubbed her hands against her arms as she shivered. She had no idea how it had gotten so cold so quickly, and hadn't come prepared for the sudden change.
She continued walking, surrounded by the buildings of Sega City. Earlier that day she had been working at the RP Guild, helping to check for what had been lost during the odd time shift, as well as whether or not anything could be recovered. She had intended to enjoy the walk back towards her apartment after the work had been done, but now she was wondering if she should reconsider her mode of transportation. Perhaps she could transform into smaller dragon form and fly? It wouldn't help much with being cold, but it'd certainly get her back faster than walking in human form.
Or I could just stop by somewhere and get a cup of hot chocolate and continue on for at least a while longer, she thought with a smile. Yep, it sounded like a good idea, so that was what she'd do.
Her eyes glanced over the names of nearby shops, seeing if there were any that sold the chocolatey drink.
Nope…nope…nope…
And then…
What was that??
She quickly focused her attention towards a white blue beam that lanced through the sky. In a second, it was gone, but there was no doubt that it had been real and not just some random flicker of light playing tricks with her sight.
Arikyrenne briefly looked around to see if anyone else had noticed the beam, then found herself making her way towards where it seemed to have come from, a mix of curiosity and caution surfacing in her mind as the hot chocolate was forgotten.
Howling winds pierced his face as Jin climbed to the top of a building. The chill was enough to make him wince.
"It's freezing, man, that's for sure...", he places a hand over his face to provide some cover from the cold, relentless gust; leather gloves kept his hands free from the cold. The temperature was dropping at an alarming rate. "Just what in hell is going on?" As he shifts himself in position, he turns left, then right. What he was looking for, he was unsure, yet he was determined to find out. Or so he thought, his mind had started to pour in the doubts.
"Really? I'm out here ready to throw down?" Jin squints his eyes, filtering the strong wind in which blurs his vision. "I don't even know what I saw, let alone remember what happened a couple of minutes ago. I could've been on my way home right now by this time, and - ", he stopped.
Jin closed his eyes and tilted his head to the side, his brow furrowed deep, as if to be in deep thought. "In fact, I could've sworn I was on my way..." Another pause, eventually giving way to a slight smirk on his lips. "Eh, screw it. My plans never come through anyway." A chuckle, and a fold of his arms. "It's always the same, day in day out. A day of change won't kill me."
Continuing on his way, he jumps from building to building. Not the best way of travel, and not really the best viewpoint, seeing as these were the small shops in the surrounding area. One by one, he crossed each roof, getting closer to that gleam of light, and with each running distance, getting ever so much colder. Looking down as he passed, he noticed the area had been... deserted? He would see some people here and there, but most would rush inside the shops or apartments. Not many were out, not many were going through their day-to-day routine, it seemed. Eventually the streets were clear. Not a single person in sight.
"What do these people know?", he uttered under his breath. "What have they already seen that I haven't? There's absolutely no one heading in my direction. I -", stopping again mid sentence, to his surprise, one single, solitary being, walking the same directiong as he. "Well, I'll be. I'm not alone today, now am I - OHSHI--!"
Jin loses his footing, his foot clobbering into the raised wall at the edge of this particular roof, flips forward, and falls head first down into the alley.
In a dark room buried deep within a dingy apartment complex, chaos was afoot.
The room was in shambles. Boxes were strewn everywhere, food splattered against the wall, smashed glass lay all over the floor, almost nothing was untouched or unwrecked in anyway. Had the room been ransacked? Was there a vast struggle for life or death that took place in this very room? ...Alas, no such tales were to be told here. Only one of drunken behaviour.
Gyser Ty Lander lay sprawled across his couch, dead to the world after three straight days of vast consumption of alcoholic beverages. The TV blared out a news report, something about smoke, and steam and ice cubes. Rolling to face the back of the couch, the hungover fluroscent hedgehog mumbled loudly;
"Sod off will ya? I wants my sleep...."
It didn't take long for Ultra to realize one thing: aliens can be strong.
Sure, his initial arrival had brought a bit of confusion. His cybernetic arm had been a perfect blunt instrument for bashing at the heads of a few of the aliens. But now that he had the attention of invaders, he had been reduced to running, dodging, and picking at them with shots from his laser blaster. Red bolts were nice...but not entirely effective.
Then he had been grabbed by the front of his shirt and thrown at a nearby apartment complex, hitting the wall.
And going through the wall.
Crashing on a TV.
Breaking it.
Yes, strong.
Ow.
Then a TV remote smacked into his head.
"I said SOD OFF!!!" slurred the room's other occupant before rolling back to face the couch.
Ultra Sonic only blinked at the sight of the bright coloration of the hedgehog known as Gyser. Huh, one of the guys from the Cosmic Canyon fiasco. How lovely. Worries about that could come later; there were aliens with big giant freeze guns, and a few of them were pursuing him. "Oh great." Well, no place like a battlefield to do some male bonding, eh? "Yo. Gyser. Wakey wakey!"
The relentless sands of the wind howling through every crevice was quite calming, as he peered left and right along this side street. Having landed only minutes ago, DL noticed that the mass amount of people he saw while aloft were now gone. Hiding within their own concept of fear, he found the street much more relaxing to walk upon, although there was a definite change in the air.
Hands stretched out top feel the numbing cold that was creeping ever so tighter around his body-and he took a deep breathe to enjoy the silence...
that was before the crash. Eyes immediately glared toward the alley dumpster which something fast and RED fell within. The thud could have been much louder, but the being that fell into the particular dumpster was fortunate enough to avoid the fluorescent bulbs and hit only the old comforters. Knowing that social contact was going to be inevitable, DL smirked, and rolled his head before reaching into the dumpster after ..whatever it was.
Eyes changed from icy blue to a softer blue, and the voice that came out of his mouth sounded..timid?
"Hey you! You 'k man?"
Thwip!
Tink!
FUMP!
"Sigh."
Rolling his eyes to look above from him, he notices the perfection that was his majestic fall. Jin had missed the fire escape, the clothesline, a potted plant sitting over the edge of a windowsill, and the fluorescent bulbs that announced the location of the dumpster and the nearby emergency exit door. Unfortunately for this red fur ball, the dent left behind on the outward emergency exit sign only confirmed his echoing ache on his head that, yes, he definitely hit his head on the way down.
"God damn," he winces. "I should've stayed at the bar. Ugh, I'll take a hangover over this." Rubbing his head, he closes his eyes, biting his lower lip as the pain very, very slowly subsides. While the mattress he landed on, while without a doubt breaking his fall, was without comfort. Today was quickly becoming a crappy day. "And getting worse by the minute," he mumbles under his breath.
All his senses eventually come back to him. The first to stir him was an audible shuffling, yet with the echoing in his still ringing ears, he was unable to make out if it was just the rustling, icy winds, or the sounds of feet. Once his eyes opened, now blurred, he confirmed his sound, only by seeing fingers latched onto the edge of the dumpster he landed in. Soon, a face emerged over the walls of the heap.
"Hey you! You 'k, man?" This voice echoed, almost sounded stirred. Jin's eyes tried to focus, but was yet to make out the owner of said voice; all was a blur. With his hand on his head, he brought out the other to rub his eyes.
Anything?
Nope, still a blur. He sighed.
"Whelp," he replied, "I sure as hell could be better, oh magical talking fuzz-blur-ball." Jin shuffled around to better position himself and reached up to the same wall of the dumpster to pull his body up to his knees. "Though I will be better once I know I can feel all my parts. And so far..." now on his knees, he takes his free hand and shuffles the crotch of his pants. "... all is well." He gives an obnoxious grin.
"Now, if I could see you," continues the battered red one as he leans forward and squints to better make out the blur that was before him, "I'd say I'm a-okay."
Kaze's worst fears might as well would have been confirmed as soon as she saw strange white beams shooting out everywhere as the Chao Walker barreled down the street with steadily booming steps. She already had covered some considerable distance, something she was glad for.
The chao was already starting to think it would have been strange to see a Chao Walker running towards the chaos ahead instead of running away like everyone else. It was probably even stranger as she spotted what seemed like a human female doing the same thing.
"Hey, you there! You shouldn't be going this way," Kaze called out to her. "Turn around and get out of here!"
Kayla ran along one of the main streets of Sega City. The closer she got to the residential district, the colder it seemed to become.
"What in Primus's name is going on?" she said.
She then noticed a large icy blue ray coming towards her.
"Slag!!"
She dove into a nearby trash dumpster, narrowly avoiding the ray.
"Blech!" she said in disgust as she emerged from the trash, "Not the best escape I've had."
She jumped out of the dumpster and came face to face with a white and blue humanoid alien dressed in white armor.
"I'm guessing you're the one behind the weather change," she said.
"You are correct, hot blood," said the alien in a chilling voice, "And soon your planet will soon belong to the Frizonian Empire."
"And what makes you say that?" asked Kayla.
"This."
He turned an ice crystal-tipped gun at her and fired.
Kayla rolled to the side and shot her fusion cannon at the alien. He screamed for a moment before he vaporized.
"That was weird," she commented, "Though, I have a sinking feeling that he's not the last. I need to get to wherever he and his buddies landed."
A Chao Walker suddenly darted by, heading in the same direction.
"Was that Kaze?" said Kayla, "If it was, she's probably going to the same place I am."
Kayla took off after the walker.
"..hands off snakey..." Gyser mumbled as he rolled over and fell off the couch. Pushing himself to his feet, Gyser blinked a couple of times to try and re-focus his world.
"...Oh. Ultra. Sup?" Gyser asked before stumbling into the bathroom... Mere moments later though, a very awake green blur came back through that door.
"YOU!" He cried with a finger point that would make defense attorneys everywhere jealous. "You're in for a butt-whoopping boy!"
Before there could be any more words or actions from either of the hedgehogs, a blue beam zipped between them and hit the wall, freezing a portion of it rock solid in a mere millisecond. Whirling his head to face the source, Gyser found himself looking through the hole in the wall at... Frizonians!?
"Awwww heck no! I've already layed a beat down on one of you before!"
The fluroscent green hedgehog desperately looked between the approaching aliens, and the traitor that stood in the room with him, torn between which one he wanted to hit first. A mere moment later, his mind was made up. With one smooth movement, Gyser reached to the ground, grabbed a half full bottle of booze, and flung it at the Frizonians.
"Shall we?" He questioned Ultra, before speeding through the hole to take this fight out into the open.
OOC: I was going to post two days ago, but Yuku went AWOL on me and killed it, and yesterday I had nointernet, so yeah. Also, profiles in the Discussion thread.

Silver ran toward the source of the steam, a few blocks away from it now. Random things crashing into Sega City was never a good sign, as they were usually some giant robot or something made some professor gone mad, or aliens. He had his money on giant robots. I wouldn't mind fighting a giant robot, I've been needing some more practi-
As he neared the crash site, he barely avoided running head on to an ice beam. Robots with ice beams...? Meh, must be aliens then.
Silver drew he fireswords, noting that there were already others heading into battle. A voice not his own spoke up in his head. I suggest you let them handle this until the mods get here. no need to get yourself hurt. Silver mentally sighed, then replied. Relax, Lights. I can handle myself, plus, what's a few freeze rays against fireswords?
Before 'Lights' could reply, Silver charged off into the fray.
Ultra merely stared. Well, that could have gone better. But Gyser seemed to recognize the strange aliens. "Frizonians..." How interesting. And what a pun of a name. It was sort of...lame.
And Gyser had super speed! That was an interesting change. He had been sorely lacking that distinctive trait back at Cosmic Canyon. Well, enough thought. Time for action.
Ultra brandished his blaster and dashed back into the chilling conflict.
As Arikyrenne continued forward, the temperature continued to drop. Maybe this hadn't been such a good idea. Maybe-
"Hey, you there! You shouldn't be going this way. Turn around and get out of here!"
Yeah, that.
Arikyrenne turned to see the approaching Chao Walker, as well as the chao that was piloting it.
"Wh- What's going on?" she asked, her shivering making her voice shaky as well. While heading to some place warmer didn't sound bad at all with how cold it was now, if something was up, then Arikyrenne wanted to see if there was any way she could help.
Mobius shrugged, just looking around at the deserted area of town they stood in - he could hear the distant sounds of movement, however, and knew that it was probably not best for the pair of them to be so obviously stood still in times as uncertain as these...the chill in the air matched the chill being received all over the back of his neck.
"Look, I'm not on a case right now - I've just kinda come out to scope the scene,
and found myself at the business end of a cold reception, catch my drift? "
He frowned lightly, rubbing his chin a little - raising an eyebrow as he smirked at the strangers general direction.
" Methinks me and you should go see where the actions at - if somethings up, I hate being clueless...and the last time something like this went down, things went south quickly...and I think it'd be best if we paired up for a moment until we both know what the hell this is all about. "
The Mobian eagle extended his hand out to the stranger, with a chuckle.
" In or out...s'up to you, but I don't think anyone should be out alone in uncertain times! "
The green crocodile nearly jumped out of his seat when he felt a soft poke on his left shoulder. Vector turned around and was slightly relieved when he saw who the guilty party was. "Hey, MoKat! I didn't hear you come in."
She grinned mischievously and replied, "Heh. Ya never do, Vec. Anyways, I bet most of the city caught Miss Truly's latest report. How bad is it over there?"
The croc did -not- look like a happy camper as he answered, "Bad. Prickle's squad was forced to fall back. I'm trying to round up reinforcements."
The feline didn't know the gray echidna personally, but his reputation implied that he was no pushover. She reached into her Hair of Holding and pulled out a flamethrower. "I usually don't condone flaming, but in this case I'm willing to make an exception."
Vector chuckled slightly and commented, "I think it's going to take a lot more than -that- to get rid of those aliens."
MoKat put the flamethrower back into her hair. "I know. I'm just sayin' if there's anyway I can help, just ask." she grinned again and added, " I might even get my Dark Magician to pitch in. No guarantee that he won't Flare the courthouse again, tho'."
Kaisertech Robotics-
The brown-haired man furrowed his brow. Three days' worth of data gone. Just when the Kaisertech Super Automat 9001 was ready to be rolled out for production. His blue eyes reflected the empty space where the past three days of test data used to be. That was important, too, it covered the speed-heaters, which had been giving his research team problems. Kairus turned away from this problem to note a security report; evidently something was attacking the city...again.
Kairus pulled on his coat, evidently there was a cold snap according to the thermometers that led to outside sensors. Pulling a bluish scarf around his face, he stepped outside, then shot off in a psionic flash to where the action seemed to be, judging by the arcs of white light that seemed to be flying from the streets below.
Smirking at the crude gesture, the form retracted his hand and backed up in order to let the red-haired fellow have some space.
"Seeing me isn't worth giving yourself a headache. Come on out here and join the fun. Name's Ryan by the way." Eyes shot over to the entrance of the alleyway, where two new figures now stood, each holding some sort of device that seemed to be able of shooting those nasty blasts of icy blue energy.
His suspicions were correct as one of the forms quickly fired three shots. Two flew over Ryan's head, and the third would have hit the dumpster-but was rattled off by the appearance of a deeply eerie black smoke.
"Unless of course, you LIKE to hide in dumpsters. Wouldn't blame you, those guys look horribly, horribly heartless."
Oliander steps out from the alley, and onto the streets sidewalk. The air around him is much cooler, maby.... a little too cool....
A Voice drifts over to him "you picked the wrong ally to come out of Hot blood"
Suddenly a icy blue-white beam fires and just misses olianders arm, still slightly freezeing the arm itself.
Oliander turns to the alien, so now to face him. " im sorry, it seems im a bit confused."
The Alien points his gun at oliander "soon" it says "all hot bloods on this planet will fall to us" He motions to other creatures comeing around the corner behind him.br>
Oliander fixes his coller"Why?" Oliander asks dumbfounded
The alien shoots oliander square in the chest.
The alien watches Oliander get overcome by the Ice.
Oliander, now frozen in the middle of the side walk, but still very much alive waits..... in hope someone comes along. (OOC: better terg?)
Falling back after being rattled from the booming attack that had barely skimmed the side of the dumpster, Jin collects himself and slowly peeks his head out towards the direction of the two hostile beings. Ryan was right. Those things looked heartless; cold as ice.
He turns to Ryan. "What'chu talkin' 'bout, man? No need to speak ill of our friend the dumpster," smirking, he slowly eyes back towards the direction of their attackers. "Friends of yours?", he asked as he took one hop over and out of the dump, landing perfectly tip toed on the ground. Dusting his hands off, he takes another closer look down the end of the alley. The two attackers were looking at each other, as if speaking to one another. Useless, he thought. Too damn far to be audible.
Ryan, now catching on the smarmy comments of the hedgehog, answers Jin's question. "N'ah, not my friends. Relatives?"
"Pssh." Jin sneers and spits off to his side. "N'ah. Have none. Or dead." Tilting his head down and now folding his arms, he quirks one eyebrow up. "They gotta know us if they've come right for us." He grins as he notices the two figures slowly start to make their way towards both of them. Then-
"HEY! DO WE KNOW YOU TWO?!" Jin hollered out to them. Quickly catching their attention, they both start to head in their direction.
Ryan stirred, "You don't want to do that..."
"CUZ," Jin continued, "IF YOU KNOW US, WE SURE AS HELL DON'T KNOW YOUR ASSES!" Ryan's eyes widened. He was speechless - Jin was surely an idiot.
Immediately, one of the two pointed their weapon at them, and another blue ray shot straight towards Jinsoku's face. Quite easily, however, he tilted his head to the right and the beam shot right by his neck, missing completely, though the slight sense of freezing cold was sensed.
Jin stopped and looked back, seeing the ray hit another nearby dumpster, freezing it solid on impact. "Oohhhh... well that's no good," he faces them again, still moving closer. Jin shuffles back, behind the dumpster he had been sitting in earlier. Ryan just stood there, watching intently, wondering what else could happen. At the same time, he readied himself as it seemed the red fellow was only good for talking smack, and hiding.
Suddenly, a huge roar is heard! Ryan whips his head back to see Jin holding the huge dumpster over his head with both hands. Grunting his he thrust forward, the dumpster flew in the direction of the two strangers, who had stopped in their tracks at this sudden turn of events. One of them manages to collect his thoughts and dodges out of the way, the other, suffice it to say, gets barreled down by the fast, flying heap, and lands flat on the ground, dumpster now sitting idly on his body.
Jin grins, baring his teeth. "Wasn't two out of two, but I still got somethin'."
Kaze's head tilted to the side, the small bauble over her head forming a question mark. "You mean you haven't seen the breaking news?" she inquired. "There's an alien invasion, forumers and the like are getting frozen left and right by strange beams and whatnot. Unless you've got super-powers or something, you should get out of here."
The chao paused for a moment, considering what she'd just said, then added, "If you do choose to continue in the direction you're headed, which I assume is where all the chaos is, then at least let me come with you. Even though I don't look the part, I'm a Moderator." Her voice seemed to lack some confidence as she spoke the last sentence.
A set of amazed blinks ran through Ryan's mind for the moment, and the information stored immediately.
Super strong, fearless Hedgehog here. What a time for ME to be up and running..."
"I think he's trying to save a life." Ryan watched as the now tilted dumpster was banged on for a moment by the sole survivor. Realizing it would be a waste of effort to try and save the cold soul lying down there, the enemy ran forward, gun blazing.
Knowing that the steams of ice would be taxing to dodge, even with what seemed to be heightened reflexes for the newly found companion, Ryan raised his hand before Jin went forward. "No no sir, allow me." Ryan then gave his full attention to the incoming streams of ice, 5 in all. Jin watched warily, as it seemed nothing was going to happen.
"Umm are you going to do--" the last words were inaudible as the beams dispersed. Their collision with Ryan and Jin was impeded by the appearance of that smoky black substance again, that almost seemed to eat the beams, rather than just deflect them. Keeping his hand raised, Ryan looked as their space invader friend ran to a nice halt, crashing into the smoky barrier and flying back with considerable force.
"Ok. He's down for the moment. Your move!" Ryan backed away, the shield evaporating instantly.
OOC: Ack moves fast...
IC: Lena jumped back in surprise when she heard someone yell at her. At least it had put a bit of distance between her and the strange people. She looked off to her side and saw a chao, piloting a strange walker. She had seen machines like it before but only in movies. With her was another character. She heard the chao address herself as a moderator...did that mean she had an idea of what was going on? Lena scurried over the chao and her companion. "Uh...do you know just what is going on around here?" She asked as more gunfire sounded off in the background. It was times like this where she wished she could be more useful in a fight but all she had was her little dagger...if she were going to survive, she'd need some help. The walker the chao rode in look pretty solid and ready for anything those strange people could dish out.
OOC: Ack...sorry Ari but what does you character look like?
"Carissima, I'm home!"
Silence. Jason sighed.
The short, crimson hedgehog was now thoroughly frustrated at his unexpected and highly inexplicable misfortune today. First, all the records of a case he was certain he had closed in court today vanished, and apparently so did all memory of the day's events in court. As a prosecuting attourney, he was usually not one to argue in the face of lacking evidence, but Jason had shouted for about an hour to his superior about his certainty to this effect. In response, his superior shouted him straight back down and annoyed him to no end. He had hoped that he would return home and let his beloved bride lick his wounds, but she was not around either. It was a strange sensation; all through the walk home, Jason noticed how empty the streets were, in stark contrast to their usual state of thronged, metropolitan chaos.
The hedgehog flopped irritably down in his living room and turned on the television. He was in no mood to get out of his dark, pinstripe suit, or even to remove his sunglasses yet. He was simply breathing fire in his mind when he saw smoke on his television screen, jarring him out of his musings.
"Steam!" yelled a mole seconds before freezing on the screen. Jason pulled off his sunglasses and leaned forward, perplexed by this development. It was the news--surely they did not pull such gaudy publicity stunts. This was happening live, and that was all the hedgehog needed to know. In a frenzy, he darted into his room and retrieved his longsword. Old-fashioned though it was, it had never failed him at the right time. He took off down the stairs of his apartment, holding his sword in one hand and yelling, "It's okay! I'm a lawyer!" to the astonished bystanders. Jason came to a halt at the end of an alleyway, where he beheld an eagle in a black jacket handing something suspicious to a human.
"One sign of trouble and already law and order begins breaking down," Jason growled. He drew his sword from its sheath and began advancing mindfully toward the pair. In true lawyerly fashion, he extended his index finger in a dramatic point to who were Mobius Springheart and Hukos and called, "You two! What are you doing?" with enough volume to alert every Frizonian in the galaxy.
Hukos looked back at Mobius, deciding if he should trust him. He appeared honest enough, but most backstabbers appear honest as well.
"Fine, I'll go with you. But let me grab this first."
Hukos went over to a small crate and pulled out a medium sized katana. Why a katana? Doesn't a gun work just as well? Just so happens that Hukos is much more suited to close range combat than long range, and isn't very proficient with long range weapons of any sort. That isn't limited to guns, but also bow and arrows, any kind of projectile weapon.
"Its my form of protection. I like close range combat rather than long range, plus I'm not very good at ranged combat anyway. So, let's go."
OOC: I'll be here until 5:00 P.M.
Rolling to a stop, their attacker lay dumbfounded. Attempting to pick his own body up, his strength fails and stumbles back to the ground. Jin watched with a raised brow.
Huh, he thought. All that with just a raised hand. I'll be damned. He began to walk toward the downed enemy. "Eh, no rush," was his response. Reaching the body, Jin looks down, his mind taking in what he saw before his very eyes. This trooper's armor was nothing like he had ever witnessed before; not in his home, and not in this one. No face could be seen through the being's visor. Try as he might, he could not make a face through the dark, tinted pane. Kneeling down to get a closer look, he leans closer in, picking the body up by, what he presumed, was the suit's collar with his left hand.
"Wow," he whispered, the frosty chill communicating to his touch. "Their armor...", he turns to face Ryan. "These guys don't just like the cold... they literally are. It's almost as if-"
Jin stopped mid sentence. What was this feeling running up his left arm? The look on Ryan's face was that of confusion, mostly due to the sudden abrupt halt of words. He turned back to look down at the trooper.
"AGH!", he cried out! "This thing...!"
"Yeah?" Ryan leaned forward.
"He's still conscious!" Looking down, the creature was looking deep into Jin's eyes, his right hand fused with the hedgehog's left wrist. Ice was slowly forming around his hand, crawling up his arm almost as if engulfing his limb into a man-eating glacier.
A low, shivering voice hissed through the armor's speaker. "You are done, hot-blood."
With this, only instinct settled in, and Jinsoku raised his right hand straight into the air, now instantly glowing a soft blue, fiery aura; the hand now clenched into a fist. With one fell swoop, he let out a blaring cry and dropped his fist right down into the icy man's visor, cracking it in various places. Again he raised it up, and down again it plummeted into his face, the second time crashing through the visor, and onto what felt like was this thing's face. Once more it raised up, and just as fast, if not faster, it hammered down into his face. Again and again, with each blow becoming faster. Jin's teeth were bared, gritting down hard on each other, his eyes shot to his left arm; the ice still soared upward to his shoulder, the alien's hand clenched tight to his wrist.
One more time, Jin, was what whispered in his mind. You have to let it out this time! If not, there may not be another time! So, now do it!
One last cry, his fistsaura glowed brighter, the fire grew slightly larger, and down came his gavel. A loud crash was heard, with what seemed to be a loud connection with flesh. Steam poured out of the thing's helmet, as if settling down a hot skillet with cold, fast, running water. A hand with a tight grip on Jin's wrist was no longer, now laying limp on the ground. Jin knelled there, his hand still wrist deep into the helmet, his breath beating, and a puff of steam came out with every burst of air. Glaring at his now useless, frozen left arm, his face furrowed.
"Tsssh!", he spit out to the side. "God damn it."
"Uh...do you know just what is going on around here?"
Kaze had only noticed the newcomer when she first spoke, at which her expression seemed sort of suprised. She didn't really want to repeat herself. "Alien invasion," the chao started to tell Lena. "From what I've seen on the news, it's pretty bad. I'll tell you the same thing I told her..." She motioned to Ari with the Chao Walker's arm, which had to have been a slightly humorous sight. "If you really plan on heading towards that disaster area, then come with me. Otherwise, get outta here. Don't take forever, either. I rather not stick around here any longer than I have to."
"I'd rather stick with you...at least until things calm down," Lena said. Though she had flashed a look of surprise, she thought the chao looked a bit frustrated. She couldn't blame it, who wanted to be having to deal with these things? Something caught her attention and she noticed one of the aliens approaching them with one of its weapons ready. "Ummm...I think we got other things to worry about right now..."
Painting was roaming the streets that day, he had ended up in the MF World while playing with a machine that he was told not to play with. When the sudden coldness appeared, he found himself annoyed. Only for a second, though, as the annoyance faded when he noticed that the coldness wasn't caused by strange weather patterns, but rather by some sort of weird freeze rays. He found himself running to what appeared to be the source of the chaos, and he bumped into the Chao Walker. "Ah! Hey, watch where you're--" He shortly realized that it was some kind of machine, probably one that he didn't want to have any kind of trouble with. "Oh, sorry, Sam, please don't blast me."
Mobius gave a grin to the Sword-wielding Hukos, and thumbs up - before taking a moment to grab the binocs from around his neck and taking some time to scan around them for someplace where some action would be more useful than the inaction they were currently occupying.
" C'mon, sugar - give me that sweet, sweet taste of something better... "
The scanning binoculars Mobius carried on him were picking up varying levels of energy readouts, as various other fellow Moforumers (Unbeknownst to Mobius and Hukos) were battling for their lives, or generally exploring the same mystery as themselves.
" Hukos, methinks we should take a circle around the city until we find a few more familiar faces...if there's gonna be a united front for whatever this thing is, you betchya damn ass that Mobius Springheart is gonna be there to make sure it goes that way. "
Mobius lets the binculars drop back to their normal position against him, and looked around with a grin...tapping his forehead in thought.
"Now, normally, I'd be taking to the air in the M-Eagle 1X, buuut...I get the feeling this is gonna be more a road trip this time."
He paused, looking over at the Jeep parked over the road, as he ran over to it and hopped into the front seat - making sure to turn off the alarms, and turning the engine and other systems on. "Hop in - we're going for a little drive, me and you!"
Oliander, still being frozen, looks out at the mayhem these .... Aliens... are couseing. Oliander, unable to move feels the small gold box (in one of the pockets of his coat) begin to warm up. "This might not be the best time.... although" he thinks more " This might just help... i just hope i attract the right people, and not... more of these... things". The box or to be exact, whats in the box, now growing hotter, from the lack of use, is giving off a noticable energy reading. The box its self, absorbing some of the energy is weakining.
(OOC: This would be a wonderful time to interact)
(Alive really.)
God damn was right. Ryan had just watched this red feller punch through what seemed to be the literal interpretation of Iceman, and bludgeoned him to death with what seemed to be a superior control of fire and enhanced strength.
We are NOT going to be on HIS bad side...at least not I.
As Jin sat on his newfound victim, Ryan slid over silently, wondering if anything could be done about the crystallization process of Jin's arm.
"To risk sounding stupid..can't you just kinda, melt your arm out of that?" A blank face-both in expression and visibility would stare at Jin, eyes slowly shimmering between a sea blue and the Icy blue that matched the duo that lost their lives invading the Mofo just now.
Ryan waited for Jin's reply, but his attention was not fully attentive on him. Out of the corner of his eye, he caught the distinct motion of the shadows-as they stretched and whispered words of trouble into his mind. They told him of the approach of more than a few of those ice-soldiers-a prospect that he did not enjoy one bit.
"...On second thought....trust me when I say we should hightail it out of this alley. Now."
Chuckling seemed to be the only thing that changed his angered expression. This was in response to Ryan's question.
"Well, actually no, I--", cut off yet again, this time to Ryan's warning.
"... On second thought...," Ryan jolted, "trust me when I say we should hightail it out of this alley. Now."
"Right." Exhausted, he attempts to stand up, his half frozen arm shifting his weight to his left, forcing him to almost tumble over. Not before Ryan extended his hand and clasped Jin's dry arm. Jin looked up to see a slight smile coming off of his new friend's face. With that, he helped him up to his feet, giving each other a nod of acknowledgement.
In a sudden movement, Jin's hand grasped on to Ryan's hand. "Hope you're not afraid of heights. We're going my way," he declared as his sights looked upward to the roof of the two buildings they were sandwiched inbetween. "Hang on." With that, he jumped high towards one of the fire escape's railing at about half way up from the ground. Landing nimbly with his tiptoe on the railing, he pushed them both off the railing to the opposite building, as he scaled to the rooftop. Upon landing, Jin let Ryan go, only to have his free hand clutch his freezing arm.
Argh. Fear had begun to pour into his mind. I can't sense anything in this arm anymore - not even numbness... not good.
Jin motions his head forward to his ally. "Lead the way."
At once, the chao turned the Walker in the direction Lena was gazing. Sure enough, she was right. Although, Kaze counted more than one... It was a small group, about 8 or 9 of them. The leader in front must have spotted them and was heading in their direction...
"Fine enough," Kaze spoke up again, pushing a few buttons in rapid succession. "Get behind me. Things are about to get pretty messy."
Before she had a chance to press the final button on the steering mechanism, she heard a THUNK! from behind as something else bumped into her.
Turning around, she discovered it was a fox, clad in black, almost 5 feet in height or so.
"Ah! Hey, watch where you're-- Oh, sorry, Sam, please don't blast me."
Kaze gave the fox a rather disapproving look. "You sure picked a nice time to show up. Stay back a couple of feet. Seeing as how you're wandering 'round here alone, stick with me." She lifted the Chao Walker's right arm and pushed the last button on the controls. Within seconds, the arm transformed into a sort of gatling gun. Inside, several targeting cross-hairs appeared on a holographic screen in front of the Chao, one on each of the approaching aliens.
Kaze recognized them from the news; humanoid looking aliens with white and blue armor, bubble helmets, and armed with freeze rays... Great.
When they were just short distance away, their weapons were raised at the group. "You were right, there are still hotbloods in this area," one of them spoke.
"You remember orders. Get them!"
"For the glory of the Frizonian Empire!!"
Kaze had the Chao Walker's weapons fully ready at this point, although she suddenly found herself quickly activating the shield's system in an attempt to deflect the onslaught of blue-white beams. She tried to move the mech backwards, only to notice several warning screens flashing infront of her. One of the feet were stuck. Brilliant.
She was way in over her head. She needed some help. Quickly, she turned on the communicator.
"Vector, this is Kaze. I've just engaged the enemy en route to the crash site. I'm not too far from the RP Guild. There's a few forumers with me, but I'm still outnumbered. There's 9 of them, they're the same ones from the news. I'm gonna need a little help here, my mech's taking a beating!"
While the chao spoke into her communicator, asking for some help, Lena peered around the walker at the large group of alien soldiers. At about 8 or 9 soldiers, that meant about two or three for each one of them and she didn't care for those odds...at all. Except for the chao, none of the rest of them seemed to have anything that could do some damage. "Maybe I could try distracting them," she said, not actually directing her statement toward anyone. There were a few trees around and if she could sneak off, perhaps she could come up from behind and distract them enough for them to make their escape...well it was worth a shot.
Before anyone else could put up an objection, she had transformed into her tiny form. She darted off into one of the trees, hiding behind some of the leaves, which had already gained a healthy crust of ice. She peered behind one of the leaves and could see one of the soldiers, not too far from her. She flew over to him, and decided to learn near his ankles. The suit looked to be pretty thick and strong...it'd be tough for her to cause even a little irritation with her dagger. "Maybe...I can shrink him...that might work...and it'd cause a bit of chaos for the rest of them," she said. She looked up at the alien, realizing how big he was...she turned her attention to the main one. He stood out as he wore a large patch that separated him from the others. She flew over to him instead and grabbed the tail ends of his pant leg in her tiny hands and spoke a few little words. In a matter of moments, the towering alien giant before her, was transformed into a tiny and puny little man. The gun he had held was still regular size and landed near them with the effect of a small tremor. Before the captain...or even the others could react, she had flown off.
OOC: Ari was in her human form, which currently isn't really describable due to her sorta looking like me IRL, and me not being allowed to describe myself over the net. I did get her into a form that's more describable in this post, so hopefully that helps^^; Guess I could see about posting a profile in the discussion thread…just have some work to do on it first o.o

Sticking with the chao definitely seemed like a good idea, and Arikyrenne hastily stepped back to give the Chao Walker room as it powered up to defend the group from the oncoming creatures. Aliens, the chao had said. As well as something about freeze rays.
Which probably has something to do with how cold it is, she guessed.
But right now wasn't really the time to be thinking about that. Arikyrenne examined the situation as she tried to think of how she could help out. And before she realized what had happened, one of the people in group had suddenly transformed, shrinking down in size and flitting off towards the aliens.
Arikyrenne blinked. That doesn't seem like a bad place to start. And she focused on one of her own transformations, a glow briefly surrounding her as she shifted to the form of a white-furred, silver-striped, anthropomorphic tigress.
The tigress form itself probably wouldn't help much in terms helping the group defend against whatever was going to happen, but at least the layer of fur made the cold a bit less distracting. And less distraction meant better concentration if she were to use her telekinetic powers for anything.
OOC: Good job so far folks, pretty good entries. I'd like to note that the Frizonians are indeed wearing space suits that are designed for outer space, so they are effectively airtight - any abilities that would affect a person through skin contact won't work on them unless the suit itself is punctured. Great depiction of a Frizonian suit/body/abilities, Jin; Frizonians have the freeze ray guns, but they themselves are ice beings with the ability to freeze with a touch, although the guns are clearly more efficient.
People are free to continue joining in as they can. For this opening stuff, it's okay to show what your characters can do - but be mindful of mission objectives as your characters become aware of them.
Mobius, Hukos, don't forget that Rapidfire just joined in and directed a post toward you guys - don't worry, just try to incorporate him into your next post. Also, Kaze and everyone else there, Kayla's with you as well. I'll be posting to get things rolling more towards a cohesive direction and gather people up together. Apologies in advance if I miss anyone. SMA, I didn't post anything in your direction because I felt that the encounter with the Frizonian should be rewritten; I sent you a PM regarding it, PM me back if you have questions on how to edit your posts to fit in better with the information I gave you.

Overall
The weather above Sega City had noticeably changed; the sun hid behind gray clouds that overcast the entire city, threatening precipitation but not yet ready to follow through. Steam still rose from the crash site itself, though the outline of a crystalline meteor could be seen if one looked closely enough.
Hoplite Icepick stood at a viewing port inside the icesteroid, enjoying the progress his soldiers made as tracking displays glowed in the thin ice sheet next to the window. He was intending to make this mission the starting point for a promotion, and everything was going smoothly. Or at least they were, until some of the hotbloods started fighting back.
"All units, this is Hoplite Icepick. Freeze hotbloods on sight, keep together in your squads and tighten up the perimeter around the icesteroid. If the cryogenesis of this city is going to work, you have to keep them away from here at all costs. Icepick out."
On the street with Ari, Kaze, Kayla, Lena and Painting
The Frizonian battle group broke up as their leader suddenly, to all appearances, vanished! They fell into disarray as they suddenly were without a field commander, although even in this they were coldly without the yells of confusion or fright that might accompany soldiers of warmer climes. They were deathly silent unless speaking, and their speech was in tune with the colder climate that permeated the city. Some of the soldiers scattered to nearby alleyways to use for cover. Others were easily distracted by the Chao Walker and the hotblood who suddenly transformed from a fleshy form into a furred form. Those soldiers aimed their freeze rays and opened fire, white-cold beams carving frostily through the air.
Arikyrenne's tigress form avoided the blasts as she ducked and rolled away, but when the beams made contact with the ground where she was standing, they coalesced in a flash of white into an ice sheet along the road surface, making it slick. This gave one of the soldiers an idea, and he started shooting his freeze ray all along the ground in an attempt to make things difficult for the hotbloods. Frizonian cryo-suits had treads designed for traveling on ice, so they wouldn't be affected by the slick surfaces.
Kaze's Walker was frozen to the ground with another shot, both legs now immobile. The fox behind her peeked out to see what was going on and commented, "Looks like you're getting cold feet, Sam."
"This isn't the time for jokes!" snapped Kaze, and she fired the gatling gun, bullets spitting out of it. The projectiles pierced some of the Frizonian troopers, cold steam pouring out of the holes in their suits. One trooper was unlucky enough that the gash in his armor was too large to be fixed automatically by his suit, and he fell to the ground and writhed in agony as the relatively warmer air outside rushed in and started melting him, dripping water out of the suit and onto the ground.
At last there was an answer from the communicator in Kaze's mech; it was Vector's voice. "Hold them as long as you can, Kaze; Sergeant Prickle managed to get away, and I'm directing him to meet up with you. Jin is somewhere around there too, so meet up with him and try to gather as many forumers as you can who are able and willing to fight. I'll send reinforcements as soon as I can equip them; but it looks like it's up to you and whoever we can rally to get to the point of impact of the meteor and investigate it first-hand."
Sergeant Prickle showed up from a nearby alleyway just then, and he dashed toward Kaze's Walker. The gray-quilled echidna was wearing a police longcoat over his uniform now, with his headset communicator still on his head and a police helmet over that. He brandished a compact rifle he had picked up from one of the squad cars. "Moderator Kaze, just point me at 'em!"
"Hey, I'm here too!" exclaimed Kayla as she came up, aiming her fusion cannon and firing it. The hot blast of fiery annihilating struck another Frizonian trooper, causing it to melt instantly in the extreme heat.
Two of the nine Frizonians were dead, one of them was shrunken down, three of them had dashed for cover, and the remaining three were out in the open, aiming their guns at Kayla, who presented the largest threat. Their crystalline guns fired in unison, a triple-beam of icy frigidness that impacted with another fusion blast from Kayla, the end result being that the fusion beam itself was frozen in midair and fell to the ground with a chunking clunk.
At Jin and Ryan
Suddenly, a phone rang inside of Jin's pocket, the ring tone sounding like the opening music of the original Sonic the Hedgehog game. Though he wanted to try to warm up his frozen arm, he pulled his unfrozen limb away and reached into his pocket to pull out a cellphone. "S' funny, I didn't bring a cellphone," said Jin as he answered it.
"That's because True Red and Samanfur just got finished teleporting it into your pocket," explained Vector's growly voice through the phone. "Now listen closely: Kaze is pinned down just two blocks to your east. She has some other forumers with her, and Sergeant Prickle, but they're outnumbered and need help. I need you to join her and go to the place where the meteor crashed to investigate it and stop the invaders from doing whatever it is they are doing to the weather."
Ryan oddly smirked. "The people in charge are already handing out orders, huh? Good to see they're still on top of things."
Gyser and Ultra Sonic, along with Silver and Kairus
The squad of troopers outside was caught off-guard by the extra super speed of Gyser, but one of them used the tactic of freezing the ground with his freeze ray to make things slippery for both hedgehogs while the other squadmates opened "fire" with their ice guns. As it turned out, they were in the city block next to Kaze's. But Silver and Kairus were showing up here at approximately the same time.
Mobius Springheart, Hukos and Jason Rapidfire
Jason's shouts HAD alerted some nearby Frizonians - an entire squad of them, to be precise, eight troopers with a leader. "Ice those hotbloods!" shouted the leader as he pointed at Jason, Mobius and Hukos.
Vector, MoKat and MDM
Vector turned to look at MoKat, adjusting the headphones around his scaly neck. "Actually, there is something you can do for me. I need you to go and join up with Kaze and Jin, but I need you to take someone with you."
"Who?" asked MoKat, who turned to watch as Vector got up from his chair and strode across the room of the control center at the top of the HQ Tower.
Vector reached out and pulled open a door. Through it stepped a clean-cut human man with short blond hair, a fair complexion, and dressed in icy blue military fatigues, complete with white gloves. "MoKat, meet Marcus the Third," introduced Vector. "Marcus, this is Moderator MoKat; she'll be taking you to join the others."
Marcus seemed pleasant enough as he smiled, strode forward and took MoKat's hand and kissed it. "A pleasure to meet you," he said cordially.
"Marcus is going to serve as my liaison with the forumers, so it's important that you join the others as soon as you can," explained Vector.
