Kayla stared at the icesteroid in awe.
"Now that is a big ice ball," she said.
She glanced at the power gague on her fusion cannon and cursed quietly.
"Something wrong?" asked Silver.
Kayla frowned.
"My fusion cannon only has sixty percent power left," she replied, "I didn't think fighting these...things...would use up so much power, and I don't have anything I can recharge it with."
'Which means I'll have to either transform or use my tennis racquet,' she thought, 'but neither of those sound appealing right now.'
All she could do was hope the next few battles wouldn't be as draining.
'But since when is anything ever that easy?'
Silver looked around the Icesteroid for anything that could help them get in. He didn't have all that much luck. He did see what appeared to be an iced-over door, and went to investigate. He tried to see in...
"Agh, it's no use. I can't see clearly through this. But it does look like there's a hall inside... probably heavily defeded, though. What do you guys think?"
OOC: Thank you Ultra. I was at a complete loss as to what to do to get back. =P
IC:
"I think thinking is for the thinkers" Gyser stated. "I say we bust in there and end this before it even begins"
Cracking his knuckles, the fluro hedgehog added, "Besides, I owe these guys big time." refering to the Frizonian he had encountered almost 2 years ago.
Ultra arched an eyebrow at Gyser's words. He knew what they were beforehand too...what they were called. How? A question for later. "Well...this whole thing DOES seem to be made out of ice...I don't think it would be too much of a stretch for our pyrokinetic people to torch their own way in. It might be of some help later." His hand morphed into the foot-long blade, bringing to mind an image of Edward Elric from that Alchemist show. "Can somebody superheat this?"
CHOOM!
MoKat's Dark Magician obliged. Ultra's adamantium blade was now blazing, its metal gleaming a brilliant whitish-orange color. "Thank you."
Adamantium: Always a good decision.
"This should take about a minute."
He then stuck his blade into the crevice between the door and the icesteroid.
Ssssss...
Steam arose as Ultra began clearing the ice away from the door's edges. "Can somebody give me a lift so I can get the top edge?"
Mobius Frowned, and headed towards the jeep - he opened the door, and yanked out the shotgun...jamming it deep into the inside pocket of his jacket, and then clipping the grenade to a buckle of his jeans securely. He then holstered the Pistol he'd left on the passenger seat, and shovelled the bundles of rounds into the pockets of his jacket again, before folding up the Visor-Noculars and stuck them in the front pocket of his shirt...then taking a moment to remember a couple of little 'somethings' from inside the glove compartment...
New Items obtained: His Old GUI-H (Graphical User Interface Handheld) , A Multiple Channel Radio 'watch' that allowed to hijack Radiowave communications/send and receive transmissions of an audio nature to anyone who was on a nearby Radio channel, and a pack of Peppermint/Cinnemon gum...fiery enough to provide slight relief from the cold.
Locking the jeep up, he stretches and smirks at the captive Frizonians situation, before tapping his forehead in thought...
" I don't doubt that we're already being watched - If anything, this whole scenario could be a huge trap...Experience has told me to at least be cautious when dealing with a front door. "
It was possible that the ice was concealing a Trigger, but regardless or whether or not it was true, He remained somewhat on edge - preparing to immediately take to the fray of a hot situation, should anything happen when this ice was finished with.
Something just didn't smell or sit right with his investigative senses at the moment...
" Folks, Stay alert - I don't like the way this has so neatly been handed out, not so soon after that entertaining little 'Ice'-capade we just had. "
As Ultra began to cut his way through the door that led to the interior of the Icesteroid, Ryan took this moment to sit down and regain his energy. Copping a squat right next to the Frizonian that he had inadvertently *caught*, Ryan looked over to the blue man, and blinked.
"Inferior Hotblood. Why do you stare at me?"
"The same reason you stare at me, Iceman. You want to know who are these people to pick a fight with us. right?" Ryan shook his head in disgust over the Frizonian's lack of response, and let his cold hair hang over his face. Upon hearing Mobius speak up, Ryan commented, partially in mumbles.
"If we were being watched, it wouldn't matter if we went in or ran away. They know what we look like and they'd prolly hunt us down. So, I'm going to agree with the green hedgehog over here-and say we should just slide in. However...."
::A glance to Kaze:: "How are you gonna fit that in there?"
Kaze only shrugged; the ChaoWalker hefted Ultra up, allowing him to reach the high edges of the door. A few moments later...and presto.
"Now we just open it." Every motioned away from the door as the hedgehog clutched at, getting a handhold by wedging his blade-hand into the crevice. Pulling...pulling...more pulling...
"FIRE!!!"
Just as Ultra finished opening the door, freeze rays erupted from within. The blue hedgehog stared at the spot he had been standing at moments ago. "...hmm. I think they were waiting for us."
Kayla jumped as the freeze rays shot out from the now opened door.
"...hmm. I think the were waiting for us," said Ultra.
"Whatever gave you that idea?" she said.
She waited until the rays stopped for a moment before pointing her cannon inside. She fired once, and then pulled out again.
The blast from the cannon melted three of the guards.
"We've gotta get rid of these guys if we want to get in there," said Kaze.
"Any ideas, Ultra?" said Kayla.
This was very problematic, indeed. Frizonians firing at them from the only entrance into this frozen asteroid thing, and even if they were all defeated, there was no way it was wide enough for Kaze to get through with the Chao Walker.
"Brilliant," muttered Kaze bitterly as she started preparing the mech for its adjustment back to bipedal mode. "By the looks of things, we're probably going to have to just wing it and bust on through, though that's not the best of ideas."
Jason's face soured. This was hardly the model plan for invading a small, compact space crawling with hostile troops. Before he let anyone go storming into the breach, he shouted, "Hold it!" A number of faces turned to look at him with expressions demanding an immediate explanation.
"If you have an idea, can you make it quick?" asked Ultra, looking meaningfully from the opening of the icesteroid to the non-Jin red hedgehog.
"I was just thinking, this isn't the best solution for taking the fight to them, and...uh, probably the best thing we can do, rather than run like lemmings into a single corridor so we can be mowed down easily is to divide our group and have another contingent go in from a different way, so as to cover more ground more efficiently."
Jason ignored the sarcastic little voice in his head that said, You mean so as to get mowed down in two different directions. He looked at the others. "And surely we've got someone with a bit of something potentially explosive for storming these breaches, anyway. Best thing to rattle the personnel is a good bang, I say. How about it?"
"Any ideas, Ultra?"
Interesting question. Get back to me in another life, and maybe I'll have an answer. A surprisingly cynical thought, but he couldn't really be blamed. He was undergoing a tremendous deja vu moment here; back as head of the FPA, he had led his men into similar situations of grit, grime, and possible death (he recalled a maniac who had a whole FREEZER full of spam; one of the ickiest cases that he could recall from the old days). This was practically his old element!
How long had it been since someone had asked him for an idea?
And...in the end, it wouldn't last. Redley would emerge again. This would end...eventually.
Might as well enjoy it while it lasts.
"Hold it!"
Jason spoke up. Ultra, his thought process interrupted, wondered if he had an idea. "If you have an idea, can you make it quick?"
"I was just thinking, this isn't the best solution for taking the fight to them, and...uh, probably the best thing we can do, rather than run like lemmings into a single corridor so we can be mowed down easily is to divide our group and have another contingent go in from a different way, so as to cover more ground more efficiently."
Obviously. Furthest thing from his mind...they would HAVE to advance though. Under cover though...or via some other method?
"And surely we've got someone with a bit of something potentially explosive for storming these breaches, anyway. Best thing to rattle the personnel is a good bang, I say. How about it?" finished Jason.
"...perhaps." Ultra's foot lashed out against the Frizonian hostage's head, knocking him senseless. No sense in letting an enemy eavesdrop. "I think our pyrokinetics can burn a way through this icesteroid. Kaze and her ChaoWalker can bore through partially melted slurry...and I think Kairus can serve as a heavy-hitter." The freeze rays stopped; the Frizonians awaiting them apparently decided to wait and see what their next action was. "Everyone else...I have a plan as to how to get inside."
xxxx
The two Frizonian Elites remained silent behind their frozen barricades.
Watching.
Waiting.
The hotbloods would come soon...they knew it.
The blue hedgehog with the metal arm suddenly popped up. They aimed.
CHOOM!
One Frizonian Elite gaped as the flying hand latched onto his helmet, reeling him in towards the door. "WHY YOU-GRAAAAAA!!!"
The other scowled as he trained his weapon on the blue hedgehog, only to see a green blur enter. Another! It was Gyser, peeling above on the ceiling and along the walls.
"NYAH NYAH, CAN'T CATCH ME!"
The Frizonian Elite scowled as he fired. Already he could hear his comrade's screams from beyond the entrance. "Hmph. Foolish hotbloods." A frigid blast. A spire of ice in Gyser's way.
POW!
"OW!!!" The neon-green and pink hedgehog grimaced as he rubbed his nose, his body crumpled onto the icy floor.
The Elite smirked as he trained his "You're mine."
A hand clutched his weapon. The Frizonian turned to see Jinsoku...and a clenched fist. "Sup, b*#@$?"
KERACK!!!
Face-breaker. Awesome.
The Frizonian Elite gurgled as he staggered; what a punch! His visor was actually cracking! "I-Impossible-!"
"Possible."
The Elite turned, watching as some of the other forumers piled in. Beyond the entrance were the fallen bodies of the Frizonian hostage and his Elite comrade. Mobius drawled, "It's not really that surprising, when you think about it...though, you'd probably feel better just taking a nap right now."
Jin obliged with a boot to the head.
Ultra sighed as he walked inside, letting his fingers rub against the icy walls. Hmm...less durable. Less solid. Easier to burn through.
In any case, they had established a foothold at the entryway. They were now inside the icesteroid.
...good grief it's cold.
Mobius grinned, as he looked around the ice-cold corridor, knowing that they'd all pretty much achieved quite the stranglehold on the entrance to the icesteroid...however, he noted, the deep freezing of this place was hardly something to hang around for too long for a lot of them.
Sure, he had the whole feathery insulation thing going for him, along with his warm Leather duster - but even he had to admit, right now it was taking all of his willpower to maintain his cool exterior and NOT let his beak chatter in the steaming cold space they found themselves in.
" So, here we are - the warm reception coming to shove past the cold shoulder, eh? "
He quipped, chuckling to himself at the line but finding himself at the receiving end of quite a few cold looks. Like the temperature needed to drop further!
"Okay, so maybe that wasn't the best Icebreaker I coulda come up with!" He murmurs, shrugging slightly before pulling out the shotgun from inside his trenchcoat, slinging it over his shoulder - ready to take the heads offa any of those frozen punks that came their way.
All this ice, he mused randomly, and not even a vodka-martini to sip on...it was a little amusing to him, at any rate.
"Hi Ho, Hi Ho, it's off to work we go..." the eagle sung to himself quietly, taking in the rather interesting architecture of their frozen environment.
He was impressed - awed a little, even - but there was no ignoring the evident feeling of impending danger that permeated the air, and chilled him all the way to the core. Mobius shivers a little, all the while keeping his eyes sharply now on the path ahead...finding himself almost straying from the crowd, as his investigative curiosity started to get the better of his common sense.
As roughly half of the group piled in, Ryan turned his attention to Kaze, grinning. "I have an idea Kaze, if you'd like to hear it. But, it involves me, about two more people, Derek and that Frizonian." Kaze, who had been watching the terrific display of bravado by those that could even fit in the corridor-quickly turned his head when Ryan spoke up.
"Yeah, sure, go ahead. Your idea is as good as any."
Putting the Frizonian over by someone else to guard for a moment, Ryan whispered the partial plan to Kaze, who slightly cringed at the idea. "You sure that's going to work?"
"Well, its either that, or you sit out here by yourself and wait for us to come out."
Kaze shook his head, Him alone against any large swarm of these folks did not seem like a grand idea of fun. "Well, ok. But I hope for all our sakes that this plan works."
((Will finish later, I have a question to ask about this icesteriod))
I think thinking is for the thinkers" Gyser stated. "I say we bust in there and end this before it even begins"
Cracking his knuckles, the fluro hedgehog added, "Besides, I owe these guys big time." referring to the Frizonian he had encountered almost 2 years ago.
MoKat looked at hedgehog and grinned. "Just like Gyser.." she thought,"..always wanting to charge in with guns blazing, so to speak. Sounds like he's fought with 'em before tho'; why else would he feel that he owes 'em big time?"
A familiar "voice" commented, ~"Well, - I- owe 'em big time just for trying to turn this world into another Cania. I'm tempted to cast Fira on -myself- just to get warm."~
~"Heh. I know the feeling." the feline thought as she suppressed a shiver. ~"By the way, the detective had a good point; is there another way inside the ice-teriod?~
~"Not that I saw. We'll have to make our own entrance if we want another way inside."~ MDM mentally replied.
MoKat frowned. ~"How long would -that- take?"
~"That depends on how much help I get."~ the magician replied as he flew back to MoKat's side.
The gray feline pulled the flamethrower out of her Hair of Holding and asked, "Who wants to help us melt a new hole?"
MDM glared at the captive alien and pointed his staff at it. "May I melt -this- first?"
MoKat raised an eyebrow at her Magician, "No."
MDM pouted. "Aw, why not?"
The cat quickly came up with an excuse as she saw Ryan whisper something to the Chao moderator.. "Uh,..it might come in handy."
Marcus the Third stepped forward, appraising the Frizonian captive. "I'm sure we can make use of you, not as a hostage, but as a prisoner," he remarked with a friendly smile. "After all, Vector will want to study you and your suit's technology to see if we can identify weaknesses that can be taken advantage of. Not to mention reveal the nature of our mysterious enemy."
OOC: Goodness gracious, I really need to catch up. Missed a day because my connection messed up and my brother was doing fixing a couple of computers he'd brought... in any case, I'll try to have something sometime soon.
I'll also post some notes about Kaze's Chao Walker in the discussion thread when I get the chance, too. General, normal stuff and a bit about the upgrades and modifications just in case I don't get a chance to post and to clarify some things. It'll be easier in the long run, and I need to write it out anyway. As you know, the temp really is too cold for Kaze, so she's staying put in the mech.
OOC: Yeah, same here. I haven't been able to be here for long periods and just kick back and write something good. I'll try hopefully tomorrow night.
(Short post to draw attention to something for those who are interested in using it as a plot device...!)
Mobius unclipped the frag grenade clipped on his belt, and tossed it gently into the air with a hand, catching it again...he sure was glad that he'd brought this mildly explosive sucker along just in case of something like this.
He holds it up for all to see, and winks coyly. "Hey, anyone wanna come with me and PUNCH a hole into the side of this l'il fridge of theirs?"
Folding his arms, he looks at the group quickly. "We don't have long to think on it either - I say it's best we split up, and divide their guard focus right down the middle, instead of all going in their frozen wonderland and becoming frozen Carpet stains, know what I mean? "
I wish I'd said that, Jason thought sourly as he listened to Mobius's suggestion. He thereupon nodded to the eagle.
"Sun Tzu tells us, 'On facile ground, halt not.' I'll go with you, Mobius. It's time to act decisively," said the hedgehog, quickly adjusting his tie. "Let's roll."
Cy sat on the rooftop, watching them. He jumped down, cusioning the fall on a mat of psionic energy. Putting his hands in his pockets, he slowly made his way towards the iceteroid. "I agree with the eagle. Confuse them, divide and conquer."
Silver nodded. "Alright, sounds good. All going for the 'back entrance', over here. It'd be best if both groups attack at the same time, so I'll signal when we're in position."
OOC: Sorry a bit busy with school stuff and also a bit unsure what to do so for now, Lena stays perched on Kaze's walker, being an observer. I'll try to write something up soon.
Gyser tapped his foot impatiently. At the the risk of sounding like the sterotypical fast guy, he was getting antsy, and there was far too much planning going on for his liking.
"Or, instead of all this, I just run in there and beat the crap of them...?" He muttered under his breath.
"Sure, go ahead and freeze your butt off then." Ultra's mind drifted back to the 'spear' from earlier...to how he and Ryan had plowed on through the howitzer. Perhaps the same would work here. "I'm gonna go and get a mobile barricade set up, to keep us safe as we move on through the icesteroid." As he walked back towards the entrance, he nonchalantly added, "I could use a hand."
"I'll go," came about a rather nonchalant Jin as he had his frozen hand in his right hand, slowly circling his wrist and twitching his fingers. "Now that I'm slowly getting feeling back into my arm, I have an extra hand to actually give you." He smiles, knowing damn well that after all is said and done, he will need extreme medical attention on that arm. Or a saw.
Trotting off towards Ultra to catch, he slows to a walk side by side with him.
"What're you planning on using," asked the red one to the blue one as he looked around. The Frizonian base seemed to be clean of any sort of obstruction to be used. Peering around every corner imaginable as they walked, Jin noticed that the walls looked like they were just huge, white sheets of metal drilled onto one another to form the entire "icesteroid". A smile formed across his face, as if a light bulb had finally gone up in that head of his.
Like a bored little kid, Jin stretches his arms out to have his hand slide across the metal-sheet walls as they continued walking. "Because I think I've found something.
"What're you planning on using?"
"I was planning on using some of the Frizonian soldiers' weapons to fuse parts onto a small vehicle. Poles, glass, lids, manhole covers...other things from outside the icesteroid. Pretty much anything that could offer us protection or force the Frizonians ahead of us to move aside. Finding a small car shouldn't be too hard...and in this icy place, moving it about won't be too hard once we get it moving." Ultra turned around, noting the gleeful look in Jinsoku's eyes. The blue hedgehog gazed up at the walls, wondering what had the Moderator so happy. "Why?"
"Because I think I found something."
"Ooh..." Ultra arched an eyebrow. "I'm all ears."
OOC: I'll put my post later, apologies for not being around, etc. etc.
IC: "Okay then. What are the teams Mobius?" Hukos had not said anything for the past while, watching others do everything. Even though it was not his nature, he was itching for a bit of action himself.
Ryan perked up, as the mutterings of others began to grow larger. People began to branch off, each assigning themselves to tasks that would make this siege easier. Looking to Kaze, and then to the entrance of the icesteriod, that scientific brain began to work-and with the appearance of the Flamethrower from Mokat's hair, he clapped.
"Oh grand! Just grand! This is going to be utterly fantastic! Hey Ultra, Jin!" Ryan shouted to them "Make sure the base of your object is frozen! I'll deal with transport!" His gleeful demeanor was shocking as he dashed past Gyser, and dove into the Icesteriod, sliding a bit down the hallway. Stopping himself by extending all limbs to the walls, Ryan quickly got to his feet and stabbed his sword into the ground. Leaving it there for the time being, Ryan dashed back to the entrance, to be welcomed by assorted looks.
"So...just what are you doing?" Mokat asked.
"Elementary!" A deep breath, before Ryan explained..a tad incoherently "DependingonthemassoftheobjectthatisusedasthebaseoftheMobileBarricade,

unlessitsmotorized.Ifweuseyourflamethrower,oranyothersourceofheatthatcancreateathinswaftofwaterunderus,we'llbegoodtogo!!!"
A second breath, and Ryan came out of his slightly possessed state of excitement.
"But I mean, that's just one idea running through my head."
Mokat, as well as everyone else, stared at Ryan for a moment, before turning to each other. Where in the world did this guy come from?
[(OOC: Edited for better reading of the unintelligible text 🙂 - Jin)]
Ultra frowned at the sight of the monocle-wearing tuxedo-clad man laughing gaily on the nearest rooftop. "Who the heck is that?"
"Not ears," grinned the all flesh and fur hedgehog, "just eyes." He raised reared his right fist to one side, then quickly drove it into the middle of the thick sheet metal wall, warping it outwards. Reaching towards the warped edges, Jin grabs two sides of the thick, large, square piece of wall.
KATANK!!!
Out came the wall, held in each hand by Jin. The huge grin across his face showing nothing but success. Jin sets it down on the floor and promptly leans on it, looking over at Ultra, awaiting his response.
"Well," began Ultra, "I-"
"Hey Ultra, Jin!" Ryan cut in, shouting to them "Make sure the base of your object is frozen! I'll deal with transport!" He zipped by them both, catching both the hedgehogs off guard.
"Uhm," Ultra just put a hand to his chin, "what's... that all about?" All Jin could do was shake his head as he leaned on his prized possession.
His only response? "I've no idea..."
"Hmm...a little toboggan..." This would work. "Twist it so that the front end of the metal is curling upward. I'll be right back!"
Ultra dashed aside, grabbing several large pieces of sharpened debris, piled into trash lids stacked atop each other. Underneath all that was a manhole cover, which Ultra hefted back inside the icesteroid. Looped around his finger was a freeze gun. Jin had already finished doing what Ultra had asked. "Okay...grab that pole and hold it out front."
A quick blast of the freeze gun, and the pole was stuck to the toboggan. Ultra grinned as he briefly coated the bottom with ice. "Okay...now get that manhole cover."
Mobius looked as the groups started to form around the area properly - with the decision made to start collaborating on a proper plan, there was a more determined buzz gathering amongst the group, and Mobius was always quite glad to see the MoFo'ers high-energy emotional charge show through...it was like a refreshing spring breeze during times like these.
" Right, I'll head out to look for a good place to light up - Pass along the signal when ya need that pin pulled and the package delivered...and then YOU guys (He points at the few who had decided to come with him, whoever they may be) to rush them before they have ANY chance to gather their thoughts. " The eagle smirked. "These guys have been ruthless, so it's time we got some payback - I figure we'll buy at least a good 10 minutes of their attention before they realise we're the diversion, and then be all over the other guys like a rash. My suggestion?"
He gives a small shrug, and a coy wink. Given the situation, it was clear that there was no going back now...
"Reduce as many of their number as we can - they want a war? I say we bring 'em a whole damn chapter on 'How to REALLY screw up your day'."
There was no denying it...the true battle lay ahead, and Mobius was enjoying giving them just a little of his own unique Peptalk methods.
" On the mark, We unleash hell...and melt this whole damn place to the ground from the inside out. "
The feline followed the blue-eyed humanoid's chaotic-sounding chatter and made a rough estimate of it plausibility. "Reduce the friction so the barrier moves with more speed and less effort, eh? Hrm...my flamethrower should have enough fuel to get the job done, but I'm still not thrilled about going in through the front door, so to speak. After all, it's probably what they expect us to do. Then again, any effort to make a new 'door' will probably be noticed anyway."
MDM stopped glaring at the prisoner and declared, "I like the Eagle's idea. So what if they notice? We can still catch those ice-heads off guard; or at least force them to divide their attention and resources."
"Then go with him." replied MoKat. "That way I can 'tell' you when to get the party started."
Arikyrenne stood there, a HotHands packet held between her paws as she watched the construction of the mobile barricade. She took a moment to look down the entranceway of the icesteroid from where she stood, golden eyes reflecting the mixture of curiosity and caution that continued to be part of her thoughts.
(OOC: Still here^^; Just haven't been sure what to post, so hopefully this short post will do for now.)
"... Uh, right," Kaze responded with a sheepish sort of grin, if a chao could even manage such an expression. "That sounds a lot better than what I came up with..."
Which was just about a whole load of nothing...
---
OOC: If I come up with more to add, I'll add on to it.
Kayla watched as the small group constructed the barricade.
'This is so crazy, it just might work,' she thought in bemusement.
OOC: Short again, I know. But I've been suffering from RP block.
IC:
Ash grinned at Mobius's words. "Sounds fun to me, bud. By the way, don't think we've been introduced... the name's Ash. Ash Fox. I'm an Enforcer Fox nowadays." he pulled a rather purposeful looking photon pistol out of a holster he'd had concealed under his jacket. Mobius quirked an eyebrow at it - it was about the same length as Ash's forearm, almost.
"'Enforcer' is right..." he snickered. Ash returned his grin.
"My Varista Custom." he nodded. "You never know when you're gonna need a bit of force." he glanced over his shoulder in Jason's direction. "Yo, Jase! What're your plans, man?"
"Alright Mobius. Will do. Just give us the word and away we go." Hukos awaited for Mobius to unleash (NO THE PUN IS NOT INTENDED SHUT UP =O) the signal as he gripped his blade.
"My plans?" Jason repeatedly quizzically. His hand fell upon the hilt of his longsword. "I plan to go with Mobius's distraction party and meet the enemy with this. I'd advise we stop wasting our time while we still have any left to us. I'm sure they're expecting us already, so the least we can do is be polite and attend the party."
The hedgehog started for a different side of the tremendous ice mass. "I'm ready when you blokes are."
Mobius looked at the volunteers, and gave a quick smirk as he tips his hat to them all a little...a gleam in his eyes, as he chuckled a little.
"Good - 'cause damn, I was getting bored with all this yakking! "
Mobius waved the group to follow him - making sure that whatever lines of communication were to be used to ensure perfectly synchronised chaos were open, and completely available so that nothing was possibly going to go wrong.
He pulled out the GUI, scanning the wall beside him as the group travel behind - it wasn't all that soon that they'd been walking before a slightly 'weaker' point in the iceteroids apparent outer layer was shown to him via the Scanners sensors, which had been developed by the finest engineers and technicians he'd known a long time ago.
" A'ight, we have a sweet spot - we're all good to get the starting pistol geared and set to BLOW-THE-HECK-UP. " He said to the gathering behind him.
" Time to send the invitations, and crash this party...Whoever's got the means to, tell the guys we're underway! "
Ah, it felt good to be back in the fray of some serious action, the eagle mused mentally.
Still...no time for reflection, He smirks and reminded himself, before holding the grenade up and raising an eyebrow. " Take cover, folks...it's about to get loud out here! "
When the grenade made contact with the side of the icesteriod, it went off with a delightfully loud "BRAKOOOOM!!!" Shards went flying; some bounced off of MDM's armor as he flew to the new 'door'.
Steam rose, presumably the result of the explosion's heat, and this inspired the magician to open with "Blindna" on the first thing that moved inside. He then prepared to cast "Firaga" in order to provide covering fire while the rest of the group entered. First things first, though. MDM sent a message to MoKat, ~"Scooter their daisyheads!"~
Back at the barricade...
The gray feline grinned as she received the message. "We have a ticket to ride guys. Let's do it to it!" she declared as she ignited the flamethrower.
Ryan adeptly jumped for joy and stood at the natural entrance to the Icesteriod.
"Kaze. I'm pretty sure you can fit through that hole they blasted, unless your Mech has a "Transform and Rollout" mode"
Now all they had to do was wait for Jin and Ultra to return with their transport.
Kayla dashed for cover as the grenade flew through the air. The grenade connected with its target, creating a huge explosion.
After the smoke cleared, the icesteroid had a huge hole in it.
"That," she said, "was awesome!"
'Dead End is gonna be sorry he missed this,' she thought.
She cocked her fusion cannon and waited for the word to attack.
"That'd be too much for this old thing," Kaze answered back, smirking. "I think the modifications a friend of mine made so it turns into a half-vehicle is bad enough as it is. Did have something I could do to bust in myself, but it'd make me one stuck chao."*
---
*OOC: Kaze's refering to that large super particle-beam thing from SA2, which is the most powerful special move in the mech battles (Tails, Eggman, Chao Walker, Dark Chao Walker) at about 60 rings. In this particular case, Kaze never uses it because it'll drain all remaining power in the Chao Walker, rendering it useless.
It was at that moment that, through the main entrance, came Ultra and Jin.
The peeled metal had been partially frozen; poles, lids, and other forms of debris had been frozen on and sharpened with Ultra's blade to form serviceable pikes and shields. Jin grinned as the two slowed to a stop, his hands clutching the twin sticks that had been frozen onto the toboggan's rear edge (serving as an impromptu steering mechanism). "All aboard!"
Ultra held his laser blaster tightly. "If anyone's coming with us through the main corridor, hop on and get ready for battle."
"Kakatte koi!" shouted Jason, bounding into the fray. The distraction party swarmed into the breach.
"Hit hard and quick!" called Mobius loudly. "Over here, ya losers! Come on!"
As Mobius drew the attention of a few of the vanguard, Jason bounded ably around one of the Frizonians, drew his sword, and swung. The resultant clang sent a reverberation up his arm and resounded in his head. The Frizonian he had struck turned around, apparently vexed by this act. Jason stared in stupefaction before the Frizonian prepared his horrible freeze ray. The hedgehog turned and was about to run for it when a bang and a splat reported to his ears, which stood up in surprise as the Frizonian hit the floor. Ash grinned from the entranceway darkly, turning his Varista on the next Frizonian. Jason shook his head in amazement at the tall fox and his weapon.
That bloody great behemoth's dangerous. And so is the Varista. Jason ducked down as another Frizonian attempted to bowl him over from the side. Spying the freeze ray gun of the felled Frizonian, the scarlet hedgehog lunged for the weapon, slid uncomfortably along his back, and pulled the trigger. The Frizonian, still in motion, was hit by the ray at ankle level, prompting an immediate face plant. Jason smiled to himself.
"Fighting fire with fire, huh? Might be useful later on..."
"If anyone's coming with us through the main corridor, hop on and get ready for battle."
Kayla looked up at Ultra, her eyes falling on the makeshift toboggan. A wicked smirk crossed her face.
"Count me in!" she called.
She jumped on the toboggan.

OOC: Hope this is okay.
Peering in to spy the shiny glint of light that was his marker, Ryan adeptly leapt and wafted to a soft landing at th end of the tobaggan, making sure to stay near the edge.
"Ready to set sail. Question though? What happens to My Frostie over here? ::Pointing to the Frizonian they held hostage.::
"Same thing we did with the last one." Ultra raised his adamantium arm.
CONK!
Cue one unconscious Frizonian Elite.
"Okay now, we've got Kayla and Ryan coming along. If anyone wants to hop on, now's the time."
